• Remove default "open with" setting.

  I have managed to leave the make default option ticked when using the "open with" option in windows 7. I ideally want this removed so the OS can manage the file type as before. I can't find the menu to remove this anywhere, I'm sure it used to be in the folder options panel in XP. Thanks

I already know the Save to PDF command and that you can create simple aliases in the "PDF Services" folder, but I need something automated for this task.   So, what hosts do you recommend? The problem is, I can't manage the server. I know there's options out there like slicehost and vps.net, but management doesn't come with those. All I need is a simple lamp stack that can easily scale. Stuff like cloud sites (rackspace) is too expensive (starts at $150/month). I only need something small for now. Suggestions?

• Virtual Subdomains

  I would like to manage subdomains exclusively through .htaccess. I am able to catch subdomains that I set up - for example, support.testsite.com - currently, I redirect that to testsite.com/support. What I would like to do is retain the subdomain, even after the redirect - so support.testsite.com seems to stay in the address bar for the user, even though it is actually located at testsite.com/support. Should I maintain another .htaccess file in /support that rewrites the address? Thanks!

• Sudo-ing Apache for a particular vhost

  I want to manage several SVN repositories for a particular vhost in my system. I want those to be owned by a particular user in the system and not by wwwrun/www. The other websites hosted by Apache should be regularly executed by the unprivileged wwwrun/www user. I'm using worker. How can I tell Apache that every request for a specific vhost must be served impersonating a specific user like I would do in IIS? (This will also come useful when running FUDforum)

• Canonical configuration for multiple-instance Postfix?

  I recently attempted to reconfigure an existing single-instance Postfix server (multi-homed) to support multiple MTA instances, but failed miserably (read: open relay, nastygram from ISP). It appears that there are several methods that can be used to accomplish this, and the various (and numerous) secondary sources that I found online were 'all over the map' with respect to which they used/glued together. Can anyone provide a working configuration (or tips) that use postmulti to manage a multi-instance Postfix setup?

I need to know how to set privileges of me (as a user). I am the only user, but I want access to everything, but I don't want to manage my VPS logged in as root. So I am creating a username. • Windows 7 keeps asking for WIFI credentials

  If I want to log onto our WIFI network, Windows keeps asking for credentials. After many connection attempts (and sometimes some reboots) we finally manage to connect. Then the connection usually stays intact for the rest of the day. But it sometimes takes 15-20 minutes before we're online... Needless to say we're using a single username/password for all failing/succeeding attempts. Does anybody recognize these symptoms? How to troubleshoot this?

  I currently have Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04, Fedora 17, and open SUSE installed. I currently use BURG boot loader to load up all the systems. However, BURG does not work with windows(I still manage) and it is a little finicky. So, I want to make windows work and have all the other OSes I want all on one boot loader. I already tried easy BCD and for whatever reason Fedora took over and blocked out the other OSes.

Because of specific regulation, the only access I have is the puppet agent for configuration and some informations can't be visualized by foreman and the master can't store this information. For example, the puppet agent need to get a secret variable (a password store in a file). How I can get it without know this variable? Also I need to keep reports because I want to know what happen on the server.

I need also to manage developer access to projects (I think I should use gitolite for this). How can I do that?   In my Small Business Server 2003 environment, I would like to be able to have users manage their own delegate permissions for their Exchange mailboxes. By default, the Outlook delegate feature will not work unless I go to the user object in Active Directory and grant Allow on "Write Personal Information" to SELF. This will work temporarily, but something seems to reset this value shortly afterword. What would cause this automatic reset?

  I'm using WordPress to manage my site and when the site does a re-direct, it slows down performance. For example, WordPress allows you a single default site, www.mycompany.com. If a user goes to mycompany.com, WP will re-direct it www.mycompany.com. Is there a way to configure WP so that it will listen on both www.mycompany.com and mycompany.com without redirects. The redirects are causing performance hits to the site.

• GIT not functionnal on Mac OS X Lion?

  I am trying to use GIT to manage my computing projects. But all commands using GIT do not respond on my terminal. For example if I try git --version followed by entry keyboard typing, a blank line appear and wait until ever. If I type again the entry key on my keyboard the command line is again available but nothing appear. It's the same for all git function that I type. Do you have any solution or explanation for this ?
