• How can I connect to server using SSL(secure socket layer) on .NET Compact Framework

  Hello. I want to change .NET framework v3.5 to .NET compact framework v3.5. But I can't change SSL Stream class to compact framework version. In order to find the proper method, I try to use TcpClient class. but i can't solve this problem. When I try to connect to server on .NET compact framework, TcpClient class didn't work(Smart Device project and windows ce). As you can see below, I've got the error. In other hand, this code is work on .NET framework(C# console project). I can't understand why this socket can not access to server. Thanks for reading my question.

• WPF: Same line drawn different?

The canvas is inside a scrollviewer, the following image shows different positions of the canvas, however the lines should look the same? Hell, how is this possible? The code above is the only code I've written by hand and it's the only content in the canvas. Anyone knows why this happens and how to prevent this? Thank you very much! • Prefix for element not bound

  Hello! I am a newbie in Flex development and using Flash Builder 4 with SDK 4. Now I get the error that "the prefix "fx" for element "fx:Style" is not bound" in line number 4. I searched for it, and it has sth. to do with namespaces, but I can not solve it by myelf. • segmentation fault on Unix - possible stack corruption

  hello, i'm looking at a core from a process running in Unix. Usually I can work my around and root into the backtrace to try identify a memory issue. In this case, I'm not sure how to proceed. Firstly the backtrace only gives 3 frames where I would expect alot more. For those frames, all the function parameters presented appears to completely invalid. There are not what I would expect. Some pointer parameters have the following associated with them - Cannot access memory at address Would this suggest some kind of complete stack corruption. I ran the process with libumem and all the buffers were reported as being clean. umem_status reported nothing either. so basically I'm stumped. What is the likely causes? What should I look for in code since libumem appears to have reported no errors. Any suggestions on how I can debug furhter? any extra features in mdb I should consider? thank you.

  Hello, I am trying to embedd two slideshows into my flash file. I already managed to integrate one, but I can't integrate another since my knowledge of actionscript is very limited. For people that know Flash well it is a really easy question. What do I have to rename in this script so that I can create a second slideshow, without always calling on the first one. • How to get child container reference in View Model

  Hello, I´m trying to share a Data Service (Entity Manager) wrapped in a Repository from a ViewModel (called 'AVM') in Module A to a ViewModel (called 'BVM') in Module B, and I can't get this working. We use PRISM/Unity 2.0 This is my scenario: A user may open multiple Customer screens (composite view as mini shell) each with another customer (unit of work). We realize this using child containers. Each child container resolves it's own repository with its own Entity manager (the repository is a singleton within the child container). This is done in module A. The main shell has a main region manager, and each Customer screen with its childcontainer creates a scoped region. In each customer screen there is a View 'AV' (connected to ViewModel 'AVM') with a SubRegion (tab control) registered as 'SubRegion'. We create this with a 'Screen Factory' In Module B we have a Customer Orders in View 'BV' and ViewModel 'BVM'. In the constructor of Module B we get the main container by injection. In the initialize method we resolve the (main) region manager and register View 'BV' with it. In the constructor of View 'BV' a ViewModel 'BVM' is injected/created. Now this works, but the ViewModel 'BVM' cannot get the child container. It only get the main container. Is this doable, or do I have to do this another way? Thanks, Niels

• SQL database problems with addressbook table design

  Hello! I am writing a addressbook module for my software right now. I have the database set up so far that it supports a very flexible address-book configuration. I can create n-entries for every type I want. Type means here data like 'email', 'address', 'telephone' etc. I have a table named 'contact_profiles'. This only has two columns: id Primary key date_created DATETIME And then there is a table called contact_attributes. This one is a little more complex: id PK #profile (Foreign key to contact_profiles.id) type VARCHAR describing the type of the entry (name, email, phone, fax, website, ...) I should probably change this to a SET later. value Text (containing the value for the attribute). I can now link to these profiles, for example from my user's table. But from here I run into problems. At the moment I would have to create a JOIN for each value that I want to retrieve. Is there a possibility to somehow create a View, that gives me a result with the type's as columns? So right now I would get something like #profile type value 1 email [email protected] 1 name Sebastian Hoitz 1 website domain.tld But it would be nice to get a result like this: #profile email name website 1 [email protected] Sebastian Hoitz domain.tld The reason I do not want to create the table layout like this initially is, that there might always be things to add and I want to be able to have multiple attributes of the same type. So do you know if there is any possibility to convert this dynamically? If you need a better description please let me know. Thank you!

• Detecting Xml namespace fast

  Hello there, This may be a very trivial problem I'm trying to solve, but I'm sure there's a better way of doing it. So please go easy on me. I have a bunch of XSD files that are internal to our application, we have about 20-30 Xml files that implement datasets based off those XSDs. Some Xml files are small (<100Kb), others are about 3-4Mb with a few being over 10Mb. I need to find a way of working out what namespace these Xml files are in order to provide (something like) intellisense based off the XSD. The implementation of this is not an issue - another developer has written the code for this. But I'm not sure the best (and fastest!) way of detecting the namespace is without the use of XmlDocument (which does a full parse). I'm using C# 3.5 and the documents come through as a Stream (some are remote files). All the files are *.xml (I can detect if it was extension based) but unfortunately the Xml namespace is the only way. Right now I've tried XmlDocument but I've found it to be innefficient and slow as the larger documents are awaiting to be parsed (even the 100Kb docs). public string GetNamespaceForDocument(Stream document); Something like the above is my method signature - overloads include string for "content". Would a RegEx (compiled) pattern be good? How does Visual Studio manage this so efficiently? Another college has told me to find a fast Xml parser in C/C++, parse the content and have a stub that gives back the namespace as its slower in .NET, is this a good idea?

Use tools to find new keywords related with your content. Do you have some internet links, or knowledge about all the tasks that a SEO Expert should do? Could you share some knowledge about what kind of business could be do with another companies (B2B) to increase the search engine position of those product pages.   Hello, I have a web page that has a textarea defined on it like so: <textarea id="myTextArea" rows="6" cols="75"></textarea> There is a chance that a user may enter single and double quotes in this field. For instance, I have been testing with the following string: Just testin' using single and double "quotes". I'm hoping the end of this task is comin'. Additionally, the user may enter HTML code, which I would prefer to prevent. Regardless, I am passing the contents of this textarea onto web service. I must encode the contents of the textarea in JavaScript before I can send it on. Currently, I'm trying the following: var contents $('<div/>').text($("#myTextArea).val()).html(); alert(contents); I was expecting contents to display Just testin&#39; using single and double &#34;quotes&#34;. I&#39;m hoping the end of this task is comin&#39;. Instead, the original string is printed out. Beyond just double-and-single quotes, there are a variety of entities to consider. Because of this, I was assuming there would be a way to encode HTML before passing it on. Can someone please tell me how to do this? Thank you,

• Converting plain text in SQL to hyperlink in Access

  Hello, I've just started a new job my first since leaving University and as part of this my first task is to convert a wholly Access 2003 database to an Access front-end, SQL back-end. The Access database consists of a series of front end forms to add or review staff data, as part of this there is hyperlinks pointing to a photograph of the employee and there CV located on a shared drive. These were saved as hyperlinks within the Access DB. I have since converted the data in the Access DB to SQL and stored it in a database for me to test on, now as part of the data conversion the photo and CV locations were converted to nvarchar from hyperlink. I've done this using SSMA. My issue now is that I need to have these text links displayed and working as hyperlinks on the front end hidden behind the words "Photo" and "CV", but am unsure as to how to go about this, as in the past I've only ever used SQL and not Access. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated and if I've not been clear in any areas please feel free to ask questions and I'll try to clear anything up for you.

• Accessing a file on a network drive

  Hello. Background: I have an application that has to read from files on a network drive (Z:) This works great in my office domain, however it does not work on site (in a different domain). As far as I can tell the domain users and network drives are set in the same way, however I do not have access to users etc in the customers domain. When I couldn't access the network drive I figured I needed a token for a user. • Accessing deleted rows from a DataTable

  Hello: I have a parent WinForm that has a MyDataTable _dt as a member. The MyDataTable type was created in the "typed dataset" designer tool in Visual Studio 2005 (MyDataTable inherits from DataTable) _dt gets populated from a db via ADO.NET. Based on changes from user interaction in the form, I delete a row from the table like so: _dt.FindBySomeKey(_someKey).Delete(); Later on, _dt is passed by value to a dialog form. From there, I need to scan through all the rows to build a string: foreach (myDataTableRow row in _dt) { sbFilter.Append("'" + row.info + "',"); } The problem is that upon doing this after a delete, the following exception is thrown: DeletedRowInaccessibleException: Deleted row information cannot be accessed through the row. The work around that I am currently using (which feels like a hack) is the following: foreach (myDataTableRow row in _dt) { if (row.RowState != DataRowState.Deleted && row.RowState != DataRowState.Detached) { sbFilter.Append("'" + row.info + "',"); } } My question: Is this the proper way to do this? Why would the foreach loop access rows that have been tagged via the Delete() method??

• What is best strategy to handle exceptions & errors in Rails?

  Hello. I was wondering if people would share their best practices / strategies on handling exceptions & errors. Now I'm not asking when to throw an exception ( it has been throroughly answered here: SO: When to throw and Exception) . And I'm not using this for my application flow - but there are legitimate exceptions that happen all the time. For example the most popular one would be ActiveRecordNotFound. What would be the best way to handle it? The DRY way? Right now I'm doing a lot of checking within my controller so if Post.find(5) returns Nil - I check for that and throw a flash message. However while this is very granular - it's a bit cumbersome in a sense that I need to check for exceptions like that in every controller, while most of them are essentially the same and have to do with record not found or related records not found - such as either Post.find(5) not found or if you are trying to display comments related to post that doesn't exist, that would throw an exception (something like Post.find(5).comments[0].created_at) I know you can do something like this in ApplicationController and overwrite it later in a particular controller/method to get more granular support, however would that be a proper way to do it? class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base rescue_from ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid do |exception| render :action => (exception.record.new_record? ? :new : :edit) end end

  Hello, I am using an autocomplete widget, and would like a dialog to show when an item is selected. The dialog does show up, but I want a field in the dialog to receive focus when it opens.   Hello, I would like to intercept any request made to the server for XML files. I thought that it might be possible with an HttpHandler. It's coded and it works... on localhost only (?!?!). So, why is it working on localhost only? Is there a way to dynamically create another partial class file to the calling assembly and execute that code? I assume I'm missing something really simple here.

My problem right now is that i don't know how to do that. Can any one shed some light on how to do that? if you notice Checked="contacts_Checked" that's where i planned to perform the operations. thanks for reading and helping out

• Writing to a new window with javascript... get access denied

  Hello gurus :) I have been struggling with this for a while now, and decided it was time to ask for help. The Loading.htm file is just a very slim html document writing out the text "Loading...".
