  • Meteor exception in Meteor.flush when updating a collection breaks reactivity across clients

    When I'm calling Collection.update from the front end (the method call is allowed), the update does work ok, but the exception below is being thrown (in Chrome's JS console, not in the server). Although the update took place, other clients connected to the same collection do not see the updates until they refresh the browser - I suspect because of the exception. Any idea what might cause this?     What could be the potential reasons why mongrel does not use the latest code in the ~/current branch? The code changes are in the MODELs. The code changes in the CONTROLLERS TAKE EFFECT. I tried the following: god restart app deploying several times manually stopping mongrel cluster, deleting the pid files, and starting them again Anyone has similar experiences? Where could the server be potentially caching the model files?

  • Symantec Gateway Security 320 VPN/Port Forwarding trouble

    How do I check to see if port forward is enabled with one of my dynamic tunnels on this device? I'm having trouble using a feature in our software that requires a vpn to be used. My firewalls shows it as connected but I'm unable to ping the subnet ip. Our software vendor told me that port forwarding might be causing this problem, but I didn't set up this network I'm on and I don't fully know symantec hardware.

I created one to many relationship using these tables: rest_names --- rest_branches --- open_days --- open_hours Am I going right this way? or there is another way to do this, maybe less complicated? And how the query will be like to get the hours of a restaurant on a specific day, say sunday?

  • Can't create admin user on Heroku

    I am new to rails and I have gone through Kevin Skoglund's Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training course on Lynda.com. Through the course you set up a simple cms, which I did. It doesn't cover Git or deployment but I've pushed my simple cms to github (https://github.com/nick5a1/Simple_CMS) and deployed to Heroku (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/). In order to deploy to Heroku I followed the Heroku setup guide (https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails3) and switched my database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. As instructed I changed gen'mysql2' to gen 'sqlite3' in my Gemfile and ran bundle install before pushing. I then ran heroku run rake db:migrate. I'm running into 2 problems. When I try to log in (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/access) I get an error "We're sorry, but something went wrong". I should instead be getting a flash message with invalid username/password combination. This is what I'm getting on my test environment on my local machine.     Of course, by 'advanced' I mean here just something beyond what every programmer does know. I'm currently more-or-less comfortable with the basics and want to understand the most important, most elegant and most practically applicable achievements of modern type theory. I just do not have much time, desire and mental powers to study all the formalistics more thoroughly and that may change in the future.
