• How to enable nullptr from C++0x in the Visual C++ 2010?

  I wonder how can I enable the nullptr in the just released Visual Studio 2010. (C++ project, not managed). This is one of the new features but it is not available by default and looking inside the documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/4ex65770(VS.100).aspx it seams that it is enabled by /clr but this is managed! Is this a feature added only for .NET?

  Hi, im able to hook registry accesses, file accesses etc- because i know which Win32 method is responsible and i can 'hook' the behaviour of this. However, i wish to be able to 'hook'/stop packets being received when ive detected an intrusion but im not sure which Win32 function i need to 'hook'. Does anyone know?   I read this MSDN like about it and ran its example. when I change the uSerAgnet to something like "blah", the output is wrong but when I use the same thing that is in the example of even when I comment out the line of code that is setting the UserASgent, the output is correct. what is UserAgent at all ? when should I set it ? But from the semantic point of protected internal" sounds to me like both protected and internal which means the member will accessible only to those derived classes with in the same assembly.   I don’t fully understand the second parameter of string.Equals, and this is because I can’t find any examples of when it would actually make a difference. For example, the example given here is the same, regardless of the value of the second parameter (aside from IgnoreCase): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/c64xh8f9.aspx I am just talking about the values StringComparison.CurrentCulture, InvariantCulture, or Ordinal. I can understand the difference between these and their IgnoreCase equivalents.

  When I submit my MVC Page I get an IvalidOperationException from System.Web.Mvc Controller object in the UpdateModel method. the MSDN documentation states that this method does the following: Updates the specified model instance using values from the controller's current value provider. Is the value provider referencing the current Request object? Or where exactly does it get the values that it is using to update the model? And what specifically does the UpdateModel method check and what does it 'mean' when it says that The model of type 'abcXYZ' was not successfully updated Thanks

• Any way to make DataContractJsonSerializer serialize Dictionaries properly?

  The DataContractJsonSerializer is not able to serialize Dictionaries properly. Whereas JavaScriptSerializer serializes Dictionaries as {"abc":"xyz","def":42} for example, the DataContractJsonSerializer gives [{"Key":"abc","Value":"xyz"},{"Key":"def","Value":42}] instead. This is really problematic and I want to know how can I serialize Dictionary objects correctly in my WCF service.
