  I'm new to WSUS and I'm in the process of setting up a WSUS server. I'm wondering what is meant by the "Windows Internet Explorer 7/8 Dynamic Installer" category under "Under Products And Classifications"? Will this allow me to push out updates for IE 7/8 or will it also push out upgrades from IE6 or IE7 to IE7 or IE8. We're running IE7 at the moment, and want to avoid upgrading to IE8 at this point in time.

  Firefox 4's default home page provides a search engine with some snippets below. Is there any way to customize the search engine used through about:config or some other configuration file? localStorage["search-engine"] sometimes gets reset, possibly after a FF update. I would like to avoid creating a greasemonkey script that scripts on about:home. If an extension exist to fulfill the task, I'd be happy too. I'm using Firefox from Kubuntu 11.04 for that matters.

  I have two primary audio outputs on my machine: The speakers and a USB headset. Currently, in Windows 7 Professional x64, I type "sound" in the Start search menu to open up this dialog: I only care about the top two options for the purposes of this question. I would like to know if there's a way in AutoHotKey to switch from "Speakers (4- Sennheiser USB Headset)" to "Speakers (VIA High Definition Audio)" so I can avoid having to open this dialog every time I wish to switch. It should be partial sync, not full copy of databases each morning. And synchronization should be only ONE way, not duplex, to avoid deleting something of master server. • How to make IE 9 stop reading all the fonts every time?

  Process Monitor showed me that IE 9 accesses every time it loads on my system, which makes it have a 1- to 2-second delay every time it loads. (I tested this by removing my fonts -- it loaded much more quickly.) It gets a little annoying, because it's the best handler I have for MHT files, so I don't want to switch to something else. Is there any way to make it avoid doing that? (The "Hide Fonts" feature in Windows 7 doesn't work.)

  I noticed that serveral daemon invoked python seperately. For example, I have both wicd and ibus daemon running on my machine. Instead of launching a single instance of python, the daemons run with two python instance at the same time in htop: /usr/bin/python2 -O /usr/share/wicd/daemon/monitor.py python2 /usr/share/ibus/ui/gtk/main.py Is it a waste of doing that? If yes, how can I improve this? If no, why avoid putting all daemons run on a single python instance?

• Internet Explorer - selected language is changing to English when opening a new window

  When opening a new window in IE8 or IE9 (doesn't matter if using a link or window.open), my selected keyboard language is changing to English (doesn't matter what was the previous selection, tried it with a few different languages). This doesn't happen for me in Chrome or Firefox (all the browsers are installed in their English version), and I tested it in Windows 7 and Windows 2008R2. Is there any way to avoid that? If there isn't - supposing the new window is within my website or application, is there a way to change it back?

For instance, apache2 for squeezeis is 2.2.16 (https://packages.debian.org/source/squeeze/apache2) However, last apache2 version for the 2.2.x branch is 2.2.27 Test repository can't be used since they use the 2.4.x versions and I'd like to stick on the 2.2.x (to avoid migration issues) How would you handle this situation and how can I update to 2.2.27 ?

  There are several ways how to toggle hidden files - via shell command, or AppleScript, or Automator action, or even Dashboard widget. All of them close and reopen Finder windows, which is quite annoying. On the other hand, for Open File dialog one can easily toggle hidden files by pressing Command+Shift+Period. Is it possible to avoid relaunching Finder? At least theoretically?

  Is it possible to setup one single machine with Windows 7 x64 OS and somehow make it work as if it's part of a certain domain? So domain controller would be simulated in some way? I would like to avoid VMs and make it actually work on one machine with non server OS. Is there even a simpler way of doing it?
