Usually I generate the target urls using url view helper, but for this I need to specify all params, so I would need to manually explode the string. I tried to use request object, like this: $request = new Zend_Controller_Request_Http(); // some code here passing the $url Zend_Debug::dump($request->getControllerName()); // null instead of 'controllers' Zend_Debug::dump($request->getParams()); // null instead of array but this seems to be suspected. Do I need to dispatch this request? How to handle this case well?

• How do I include extremely long literals in C++ source?

  Hello everyone :) I've got a bit of a problem. Essentially, I need to store a large list of whitelisted entries inside my program, and I'd like to include such a list directly -- I don't want to have to distribute other libraries and such, and I don't want to embed the strings into a Win32 resource, for a bunch of reasons I don't want to go into right now. I simply included my big whitelist in my .cpp file, and was presented with this error: 1>ServicesWhitelist.cpp(2807): fatal error C1091: compiler limit: string exceeds 65535 bytes in length The string itself is about twice this allowed limit by VC++. What's the best way to include such a large literal in a program?

  So, I have a file called 'dummy' which contains the string: "There is 100% packet loss at node 1". I also have a small script that I want to use to grab the percentage from this file. The script is below. result=`grep 'packet loss' dummy` | awk '{ first=match($0,"[0-9]+%") last=match($0," packet loss") s=substr($0,first,last-first) print s}' echo $result I want the value of $result to basically be 100% in this case. But for some reason, it just prints out a blank string. Can anyone help me?

  I'm using Entity Framework 4.1 with a Code-First approach on an ASP.NET MVC site Say I have an entity named Profile that keeps track of a user's favorite book, and I want to track when the user updates their favorite book. UPDATED: Using the class below as an example, I want to set the FavoriteBookLastUpdated property to the current date whenever the value of the FavoriteBook property changes. public class Profile { public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string FavoriteBook { get; set; } public DateTime? FavoriteBookLastUpdated { get; set; } } Right now I just update that field, if appropriate, in the controller's Edit action before calling the DBContext's SaveChanges() method. • Storing database settings outside app.config

  I've been writing a c# exe that will be running on a live web server, but I want to be able to test it on our staging server. Since the staging server has different database settings (in the app.config) from my localhost, is there any way I can store the connection string outside the app.config so that I can easily get to it? Also, is it possible to store the database connection string, then access it via the app.config? This might sound odd, but I'm using a dll from a CMS that uses the value in the .config file.

  Hi guys! Let's assume we have the following method in the business layer. What's the best practice to tell the UI layer that something went wrong and give also the error message? Should the method return an empty String when it was OK, otherwise the error message, or should it throw another exception in the catch code wrapping the caught exception? If we choose the second variant then the UI should have another try,catch which is too much try,catch maybe. • Adding business logic to a domain class using a getter style method name

  I'm attempting to add a method to a grails domain class, e.g. class Item { String name String getReversedName() { name.reverse() } } When I attempt to load the application using grails console I get the following error: Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'sessionFactory':Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.PropertyNotFoundException: Could not find a setter for property reversedName in class Item ... 18 more It looks like Hibernate is interpreting getReversedName() as a getter for a property, however in this case it is a derived field and hence should not be persisted. Obviously in my actual code the business logic I'm exposing is more complex but it isn't relevant to this question. I want to be able to call item.reversedName in my code/gsps. How can I provide property (getter) access to a method in a Grails domain class without Grails attempting to map it with Hibernate?

  I've got an embeds_many association I'm trying to set up which I've done successfully before, but I'm trying to do it all in one nested form and I can't figure it out. Let's say we have a pocket model: class Pocket include Mongoid::Document field :title, type: String embeds_many :coins, cascade_callbacks: true end and a Coin Model: class Coin include Mongoid::Document field :name, type: String embedded_in :pocket end in my form for the pocket, I'm using: = f.fields_for @pocket.coins do |coin| = coin.text_field :name My controller is the default scaffolded controller. When I use the console, it saves fine and I can see the new pocket and coin I've created. But when I try to create or update a coin from the form, the pocket saves but the coin remains unchanged. What am I missing here?

  I'm following along with the tutorial. And we are currently coding the Item class. I am using the 2008 edition, while the tutorial uses 2005. The code I am having issue with is: public string Weight { get { return weight; } set { weight = value; } } earlier in the code, we had: private int Weight = 1; as you can see, they are both different variables, int, and string. I'm doing exactly as the tutorial shows, on mine, I get a conversion error, whereas in the tutorial, there are no errors, why is this? I'm doing exactly what the video shows.

I have an issue databinding a generic List of Car Rental Companies to a DataGridView when that list contains (one of its properties) anoother generic List of Car Makes. I also have a UserControl that I need to bind to this [inner] generic list ... Class CarRentalCompany contains: string Name, string Location, List CarMakes Class CarMake contains: string Name, bool isFord, bool isChevy, bool isOther The UserControl has a label for CarMake.Name and 3 checkboxes for each of the booleans of the class. HOw do I make this user control bindable for the class? In my form, I have a DataGridView binded to the CarRentalCompany object. The list CarMakes could be 0 or more items and I can add these as necessary. How do I establish the binding of CarRentalCompanies properly so CarMakes will bind accordingly?? • Remove year component from NSDateFormatter style

  I would like to present a date in the kCFDateFormatterFullStyle, but without the year. Is there any way to remove the year component from this style? My app requires localization so practically I cannot programmatically set the format string for all locales. I have come accross a solution which removes the "y" characters from the format string returned by the built in styles. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable as the year components are not represented by "y" in some other languages like Japanese. Any suggestions to get the kCFDateFormatterFullStyle without the year would be great! Thanks.

• C++ - Opening a file inside a function using fopen

  I am using Visual Studio 2005 (C++). I am passing a string into a function as a char array. I want to open the file passed in as a parameter and use it. I know my code works to an extent, because if I hardcode the filename as the first parameter it works perfectly. I do notice if I look at the value as a watch, the value includes the address aside the string literal. I have tried passing in the filename as a pointer, but it then complains about type conversion with __w64. As I said before it works fine with "filename.txt" in place of fileName. • Reading int from a hidden field in .aspx

  Hi, I'm struggling to read an int from the hidden field on aspx page. <input type = "hidden" id = "myIntegerId" name = "integerId" value= "<%: Model.MyObjectId %>" runat = "server" /> The value is definately on the form, I can see it in the debugger and print it with <%: % When I read the form values in the controller, instead of an int I recieve a following string: <%: Model.MyObjectId % I have tried casting data in the hidden field to string and calling ToString() method on that field, neither has worked. The data is submitted using the post event. I have a feeling that I'm missing something very basic... Any help is greately appreciated. Thanks

  I have a web form that collects information and submits it to a cgi that attempts to insert the data into LDAP. The problem is that I'm trying to use a variable with ::ldap::add and it's just not working.
