• How to Get the F# Name of a Module, Function, etc. From Quoted Expression Match

  I continue to work on a printer for F# quoted expressions, it doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like to see what is possible. The active patterns in Microsoft.FSharp.Quotations.Patterns and Microsoft.FSharp.Quotations.DerivedPatterns used for decomposing quoted expressions will typically provide MemberInfo instances when appropriate, these can be used to obtain the name of a property, function, etc. and their "declaring" type, such as a module or static class. The problem is, I only know how to obtain the CompiledName from these instances but I'd like the F# name. For example, > <@ List.mapi (fun i j -> i+j) [1;2;3] @> |> (function Call(_,mi,_) -> mi.DeclaringType.Name, mi.Name);; val it : string * string = ("ListModule", "MapIndexed") How can this match be rewritten to return ("List", "mapi")? There may even be two hash lookups on line 'B' -- one to get the int value and another to update it.

  I'm sitting with a problem where I need to pass more than 2000 characters from my Flash application to an HTML page which reads the information and displays the correct options made in the Flash app the person came from. All's good but on the final stage, when the user needs to post their choices to a form, the character cannot be sent because the string is too long. Is there a way to use a service such as Bitly or TinyURL to send these long string and for them to be "deconstruction" on the other end when the form is sent? Otherwise, is there another solution to this problem? Many thanks!

  Hello. I am trying to do some custom things in Django comments form. I have simple tag named "get_flatpage_by_id" that returns flatpage model data as array. This is working I expected: {% get_flatpage_by_id 14 as page %} It's returning flatpage that ID is 14. But this is not working, if I try to pass {{ form.object_pk.data }} (that returns 14). This is how it should look like: {% get_flatpage_by_id form.object_pk.data as page %} Simple tag receives value "form.object_pk.data" (string), not 14. I don't know how to tell Django that "form.object_pk.data" is variable, not a string!

E.g.: I have a an array with a list of variable names and I want to get the information from the object by using them. • Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement in c# oledb?

  I am having a table called SubMaster_Accounts, which contains 9 fields. In which I want to insert data to some fields and i want to store some other fields as NULL. I tried to write the query using query string, The sql query works perfectly when i insert the data for all the fields, but when i insert data as NULL to some of the fields it shows syntax error in Insert command. The fields which i want to insert as NULL are not constraints. How can i do it? • Recordset Update errors when updating sql_variant field

  I'm using C++ and ADO to add data to a SQL Server 2005 database. When calling the Recordset Update method for a sql_variant column I'm getting the error DB_E_ERRORSOCCURRED and the error message Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done. If the value I'm adding is NULL all works fine and all values going to the fields that are not sql_variant types work. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Thanks [Edit] I have some more information. The value we are storing is the empty string - ADO appears to want to store this in the sql_variant as a nchar(0), which of course is not a valid SQL data type. Is there a way to get an empty string in a sql_variant using the ADO batch commands?

• C++ - Efficient way to iterate over the contents of a vector?

  Hello, everyone! I am implementing a text-based version of Scrabble for a college project. I have a vector containing around 400K strings (my dictionary), and, at some point in every turn, I'm going to have to check if any word in the dictionary can be formed with the pieces in the player's hand. My only solution to this is iterating through the string, one by one, and using a sub-routine I have to check if the string in question can be formed from the player's pieces. I'll implement a quickfail checking if the user has any vowels, but it'll still be woefully inefficient. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time!

• in_array() - help on what specifically would return true

  I am using in_array, and I'm trying to use it in a way where it will only return true if it's an exact match of one of the objects in the array, not just if it's "in" the array. e.g. 1. $sample_array = array('123', '234', '345'); 2. $sample_array = array('23', '34', '45'); in_array('23', $sample_array); In the above example, I would only want version 2 to return true, because it has the exact string, '23'. Version 1 returns true as well though, because the array contains instances of the string '23'. How would I get this to work so that only version 2 returns true? Am I even using the right function?

  I'm trying to evaluate C# code as it gets typed, think of it as if I'm trying to write an IDE. So a person types code, I want to find out what code did he just write: String x = ""; I want to now register that x is a type of String. And now everytime the user types x again, and I want to show him all the things he can do with x, basically like Visual Studio Intellisense. Will I need some lexers or parsers for this? Will that make it easier? I've heard VS 2010 has some features around this that Microsoft has released. Any ideas?

• Passing NULL values into mysql Stored procedure

  I am trying to pass a few NULL values to a stroed procedure but PHP always retains the varaibles to be empty strings '' and not NULL. My DB insert function looks like this. (I am using a Framework and ADODB so if it looks weird thats why). function insert_emp($f_name, $last_name, $dob) { if(!isset($dob)){ $dob = NULL; } $this->DB->setConnection("CALL insert_emp('$f_name', '$l_name', '$dob')"); } I have ensured that $dob is being passed an empty string ''. But for some reason when it calls the stored proc it is not changed to NULL. dob is a datetime field and mysql complains that you can not enter an empty string as a DATETIME. If I hard code the insert such as this $this->DB->setConnection("CALL insert_emp('Test1', 'Test2', 'NULL')"); it will work. Thanks for the help.

• Referencing a different project in the same assembly, different namespaces

  I have two projects : Menu and Module and they are both in the same namespace foobar. I am currently referencing the module project from the Menu project to open up certain controls on a tab control in my menu. However I need to launch a new control from one of my controls which is located in the Module project. When I try referencing the menu project, it does not show up in my intellisense when I try to reference it with a using. Am I doing something wrong logically here? • priority_queue with dynamic priorities

  Hey, I have a server application which accepts incomming queries and executes them. If there are too many queries they should be queued and if some of the other queries got executed the queued queries should be executed as well. Since I want to pass queries with different priorities I think using a priority_queue would be the best choice. e.g. The amout of the axcepting queries (a) hit the limt and new queries will be stored in the queue. All queries have a priority of 1 (lowest) if some of the queries from (a) get executed the programm will pick the query with the highest priority out of the queue and execute it. Still no problem. Now someone is sending a query with a priority of 5 which gets added to the queue. Since this is the query with the highest priority the application will execute this query as soon as the running queries no longer hit the limit. There might be the worst case that 500 queries with a priority of 1 are queued but wont be executed since someone is always sending queries with a priority of 5 hence these 500 queries will be queued for a looooong time. In order to prevent that I want to increase the prioritiy of all queries which have a lower priority than the query with the higher priority, in this example which have a priority lower than 5. So if the query with a priority of 5 gets pulled out of the queue all other queries with a priority < 5 should be increased by 0.2. This way queries with a low priority wont be queued for ever even if there might be 100 queries with a higher priority.
