  • XMLHttpRequest open() returning access denied

    - by rjovic
    Hi! I have problem with xhr open() method. My code follows : var xmlhttp=false; if(!xmlhttp) try { xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } catch(e) { xmlhttp=false; } function returnPage(url) { if(!xmlhttp) return alert("Your browser doesn't seem to support XMLHttpRequests."); xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if(xmlhttp.readyState!=4) return; if(!xmlhttp.status||xmlhttp.status==200) alert(xmlhttp.responseText); else alert("Request failed!"); }; //onreadystatechange xmlhttp.send(null); } Call : <a href='#' onclick="returnPage('http://www.something.com'); return false;">Link 1</a></p> I'm using IE8 (because I'm building web slice) and I received error "Access denied". I found on the Internet that problem is that XHR isn't working across different domains, but I used code from Firefox Add-on which is working OK. And that add-on and "my" code (which are the same) are calling the same page. How that add-on have access and my code not?

  • Deleting objects with FK constraints in Spring/Hibernate

    - by maxdj
    This seems like such a simple scenario to me, yet I cannot for the life of my find a solution online or in print. I have several objects like so (trimmed down): @Entity public class Group extends BaseObject implements Identifiable<Long> { private Long id; private String name; private Set<HiringManager> managers = new HashSet<HiringManager>(); private List<JobOpening> jobs; @ManyToMany(fetch=FetchType.EAGER) @JoinTable( name="group_hiringManager", joinColumns=@JoinColumn(name="group_id"), inverseJoinColumns=@JoinColumn(name="hiringManager_id") ) public Set<HiringManager> getManagers() { return managers; } @OneToMany(mappedBy="group", fetch=FetchType.EAGER) public List<JobOpening> getJobs() { return jobs; } } @Entity public class JobOpening extends BaseObject implements Identifiable<Long> { private Long id; private String name; private Group group; @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="group_id", updatable=false, nullable=true) public Group getGroup() { return group; } } @Entity public class HiringManager extends User { @ManyToMany(mappedBy="managers", fetch=FetchType.EAGER) public Set<Group> getGroups() { return groups; } } Say I want to delete a Group object. Now there are dependencies on it in the JobOpening table and in the group_hiringManager table, which cause the delete function to fail. I don't want to cascade the delete, because the managers have other groups, and the jobopenings can be groupless. I have tried overriding the remove() function of my GroupManager to remove the dependencies, but it seems like no matter what I do they persist, and the delete fails! What is the right way to remove this object?

  • Should I expect Comet to be this slow?

    - by Chad Johnson
    I have the following in a Rails controller: def poll records = [] start_time = Time.now.to_i while records.length == 0 do records = Something.uncached{Something.find(:all, :conditions => { :some_condition => false})} if records.length > 0 break end sleep 1 if Time.now.to_i - start_time >= 20 break end end responseData = [] records.each do |record| responseData << { 'something' => record.some_value } # Flag message as received. record.some_condition = true record.save end render :text => responseData.to_json end and then I have Javascript performing an AJAX request. The request sits there for 20 seconds or until the controller method finds a record in the database, waiting. That works. function poll() { $.ajax({ url: '/my_controller/poll', type: 'GET', dataType: 'json', cache: false, data: 'time=' + new Date().getTime(), success: function(response) { // show response here }, complete: function() { poll(); }, error: function() { alert('error'); poll(); } }); } When I have 5 - 10 tabs open in my browser, my web application becomes super slow. Is this to be expected? Or is there some obvious improvement(s) I can make?

  • Checkbox in an email

    - by Austin
    I am creating an email using the c# MailMessage and I am trying to add a checkbox that doesn't need to be clicked. The checkboxes will be used for a checklist of what to bring to an event (like a packing list). I have: MailMessage objEmail = new MailMessage(); objEmail.From = new MailAddress("[email protected]"); objEmail.To.Add(new MailAddress("[email protected]")); objEmail.CC.Add(new MailAddress("[email protected]")); objEmail.Bcc.Add(new MailAddress("[email protected]")); objEmail.Subject = "Packing list!"; objEmail.IsBodyHtml = true; objEmail.Body = @"<div width=""800px""> <h3>WHAT TO BRING</h3> <form> <input type=""checkbox"" name=""item"" value=""shirt"">Shirt<br> <input type=""checkbox"" name=""item"" value=""shoes"">Shoes </form></div>"; but when I send the email the checkboxes do not appear in the list. Output in outlook using outlook.com: WHAT TO BRING I have a bike I have a car Output in outlook using Microsoft Outlook: WHAT TO BRING [ ]I have a bike [ ]I have a car Output in outlook using hotmail.com: WHAT TO BRING I have a bike []I have a car So the problem is with the mail client but it is inconsistent what the problem is. I s there any way to make a consistent output? Is there a way with html that works to create the checkboxes or do I just need to include images of a checkbox? Thanks in advance.

[System.Serializable] public class request { public string username; public string password; static XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(request)); public string Serialize() { StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder(); XmlWriterSettings settings = new XmlWriterSettings(); settings.OmitXmlDeclaration = true; settings.Encoding = Encoding.UTF8; serializer.Serialize( System.Xml.XmlWriter.Create(builder, settings ), this); return builder.ToString(); } public static request Deserialize(string serializedData) { return serializer.Deserialize(new StringReader(serializedData)) as request; } } I want to add attributes to some nodes and create some sub-nodes. Also how to parse xml like that: <answer> <player id="2"> <coordinate axis="x"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="y"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="z"></coordinate> <action name="nothing"></action> </player> <player id="3"> <coordinate axis="x"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="y"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="z"></coordinate> <action name="boom"> <1>1</1> <2>2</2> </action> </player> </answer> p.s. it is not a xml file, it's answer from http server.

  • Why jquery ajax calls fails after session timeout in asp.net mvc?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    when there is a value in my session variable my ajax calls work properly... But when a session is timedout it doesn't seem to work returning empty json result.... public JsonResult GetClients(int currentPage, int pageSize) { if (Session["userId"]!=null) { var clients = clirep.FindAllClients(Convert.ToInt32(Session["userId"])).AsQueryable(); var count = clients.Count(); var results = new PagedList<ClientBO>(clients, currentPage - 1, pageSize); var genericResult = new { Count = count, Results = results ,isRedirect=false}; return Json(genericResult); } else { var genericResult = new {redirectUrl = Url.Action("Create", "Registration"), isRedirect = true }; return Json(genericResult); } } However else part does'nt seem to work.... success: function(data) { alert(data.Results); if (data.isRedirect) { window.location.href = data.redirectUrl; } } EDIT: My global.asax has this, public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Clients", "Clients/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Clients", action = "Index", id = "" } ); routes.MapRoute( "Registrations", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Registration", action = "Create", id = "" } ); }

  • Image URL not changing in Update panel

    - by Chiefy
    Ok this is probably really simple but I have been staring at it for too long now. I have an AJAX AsyncFileUpload control that when a file is selected I want the Image next to it to change. I tried it in Javascript and it did nothing, i have since tried it server-side and still nothing. here is the client side. <asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="upnlConfidential"> <ContentTemplate> <td> <asp:AsyncFileUpload ID="_flupCV" runat="server" OnUploadedComplete="AdminFileUpload" /> </td> <td> <asp:Image ID="imgCV" runat="server" Height="25px" Width="25px" ImageUrl="~/Images/Exclamation.png"/> </td> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> and here is the server side protected void AdminFileUpload(object sender, AjaxControlToolkit.AsyncFileUploadEventArgs e) { AjaxControlToolkit.AsyncFileUpload upload = (AjaxControlToolkit.AsyncFileUpload)sender; if (upload.PostedFile != null) { switch (upload.ID) { case "_flupCV": ImageCheckMark(imgCV); break; //etc... } } } private void ImageCheckMark(Image image) { image.Visible = true; image.ImageUrl = "~/Images/CheckMark.png"; } When the server side is called it sets the URL just fine but then nothing happens to the image, when I call the code again the URL is still the previous Exclamation image. its almost like its forgotten. Can anybody help me on this please. Thanks in advance to all who contribute!

  • Running migration on server when deploying with capistrano

    - by Pandafox
    Hi, I'm trying to deploy my rails application with capistrano, but I'm having some trouble running my migrations. In my development environment I just use sqlite as my database, but on my production server I use MySQL. The problem is that I want the migrations to run from my server and not my local machine, as I am not able to connect to my database from a remote location. My server setup: A debian box running ngnix, passenger, mysql and a git repository. What is the easiest way to do this? update: Here's my deploy script: set :application, "example.com" set :domain, "example.com" set :scm, :git set :repository, "[email protected]:project.git" set :use_sudo, false set :deploy_to, "/var/www/example.com" role :web, domain role :app, domain role :db, "localhost", :primary = true after "deploy", "deploy:migrate" When I run cap deploy, everything is working fine until it tries to run the migration. Here's the error I'm getting: ** [deploy:update_code] exception while rolling back: Capistrano::ConnectionError, connection failed for: localhost (Errno::ECONNREFUSED: Connection refused - connect(2)) connection failed for: localhost (Errno::ECONNREFUSED: Connection refused - connect(2))) This is why I need to run the migration from the server and not from my local machine. Any ideas?

  • Grayscale image with colored spotlight in JavaFX

    I need a way to have a gray scale image in an ImageView and on mouse moved if the cursor position is in the ImageView bounds to show a colored spotlight on the mouse position. I have created a sample to help you understand what I need. This sample negates the colors of a colored image on the onMouseMoved event. package javafxapplication3; import javafx.scene.effect.BlendMode; import javafx.scene.Group; import javafx.scene.image.Image; import javafx.scene.image.ImageView; import javafx.scene.input.MouseEvent; import javafx.scene.paint.Color; import javafx.scene.paint.RadialGradient; import javafx.scene.paint.Stop; import javafx.scene.Scene; import javafx.scene.shape.Circle; import javafx.stage.Stage; var spotlightX = 0.0; var spotlightY = 0.0; var visible = false; var anImage = Image { url: "{__DIR__}picture1.jpg" } Stage { title: "Spotlighting" scene: Scene { fill: Color.WHITE content: [ Group { blendMode: BlendMode.EXCLUSION content: [ ImageView { image: anImage onMouseMoved: function (me: MouseEvent) { if (me.x > anImage.width - 10 or me.x < 10 or me.y > anImage.height - 10 or me.y < 10) { visible = false; } else { visible = true; } spotlightX = me.x; spotlightY = me.y; } }, Group { id: "spotlight" content: [ Circle { visible: bind visible translateX: bind spotlightX translateY: bind spotlightY radius: 60 fill: RadialGradient { centerX: 0.5 centerY: 0.5 stops: [ Stop { offset: 0.1, color: Color.WHITE }, Stop { offset: 0.5, color: Color.BLACK }, ] } } ] } ] }, ] }, } I am a total newbie what can I say...

  • How to get a fully transparent backbuffer in directx 9 without vista Desktop Window Manager

    - by flawlesslyfaulted
    I currently have an activex control that initiates a media (video/audio) framework another development group in my company developed and I am providing a window handle to that code. That handle is being used by their rendering plugin in the pipeline that uses Direct3d for rendering the video using that handle. I have seperate LPDIRECT3D9EX and LPDIRECT3DDEVICE9EX pointers that I initialize in my activex control. I am trying to clear a backbuffer to transparent and then use directx drawing primatives to draw on that backbuffer producing a transparent window with my drawing primatives over the streaming video on the directx surface below. It appears that clearing a device backbuffer with full alpha transparency is ignored by directx. d3ddev->Clear(0, NULL, D3DCLEAR_TARGET, D3DCOLOR_RGBA(0, 0, 1, 0 /*full alpha*/), 1.0f, 0); I can see the object I draw but they are drawn on top of a backbuffer that has the RGB color specified without the alpha value. The project linked (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/directx/umvistad3d.aspx) to in the stackoverflow question below does what I want but requires vista's Desktop Window Manager and won't work for XP. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/148275/how-do-i-draw-transparent-directx-content-in-a-transparent-window I have tried with D3DRS_ALPHABLENDENABLE true with configured blend with no avail. I have also tried to have pixels with full alpha values not rendered using D3DRS_ALPHATESTENABLE, D3DRS_ALPHAREF, and D3DRS_ALPHAFUNC setup but this doesn't work either. I have tried using ColorFill with alpha after retrieving the backbuffer with GetBackBuffer but this doesn't work either. (again only RGB is used) Finally I have tried creating a texture, selecting a surface, colorfilling that surface with a fully transparent alpha value, then loading that surface onto the backbuffer but only the RGB values appear to be used. I have checked the capabilities using the DXCapsViewer.exe and the D3DFMT_A8R8G8B8 backbuffer format that I am using for the backbuffer is valid so it can't be that. Has anyone gotten a transparent backbuffer in directx to work in XP?

  • Can't wrap my head around appengine data store persistence

    - by aloo
    Hi, I've run into the "can't operate on multiple entity groups in a single transaction." problem when using APPENGINE FOR JAVA w/ JDO with the following code: PersistenceManager pm = PMF.get().getPersistenceManager(); Query q = pm.newQuery("SELECT this FROM " + TypeA.class.getName() + " WHERE userId == userIdParam "); q.declareParameters("String userIdParam"); List<TypeA> poos = (List<TypeA>) q.execute(userIdParam); for (TypeA a : allTypeAs) { a.setSomeField(someValue); } pm.close(); } The problem it seems is that I can't operate on a multiple entities at the same time b/c they arent in the same entity group while in a transaction. Even though it doesn't seem like I'm in a transaction, appengine generates one because I have the following set in my jdoconfig.xml: <property name="datanucleus.appengine.autoCreateDatastoreTxns" value="true"/> Fine. So far I think I understand. BUT - if I replace TypeA in the above code, with TypeB - I don't get the error. I don't believe there is anything different between type a and type b - they both have the same key structure. They do have different fields but that shouldn't matter, right? My question is - what could possible be different between TypeA and TypeB that they give this different behavior? And consequently what do you I fundamentally misunderstand that this behavior could even exist.... Thanks.

  • Display subclass data in XCode Expression window

    - by Nick VanderPyle
    I'm debugging an iPhone application I've written using XCode 3.2 and I cannot view the relevant public properties of an object I pull from Core Data. When I watch the object in the Expressions window it only displays the data from the base NSManagedObject. I'd like to see the properties that are on the subclass, not the superclass. If it helps, here's some of the code I'm using. Settings is a subclass of NSManagedObject. I created it using XCode's built-in modeler. Declared like: @interface Settings : NSManagedObject { } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * hasNews; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * logoUrl; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSNumber * hasPaymentGateway; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * customerCode; ... In the interface of my controller I have: Settings *settings; I populate settings with: settings = (Settings *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Settings" inManagedObjectContext:UIAppManagedObjectContext()]; I then set the properties like: settings.hasNews = [NSNumber numberWithBool:TRUE]; I've tried casting settings as (Settings *) in the Expression window but that doesn't help. All I see are the properties to NSManagedObject. I'm using NSLog but would rather not.

WHERE name = ?"; the select statement is -- rs = stmt1.executeQuery("SELECT hIx FROM libra.smalldb for update"); rs0 = stmt2.executeQuery("SELECT name,aff FROM libra.smalldb"); the second statement is because i need those fields as well. Here is the complete code -- import java.sql.*; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Collections; public class Jdbcexample1 { /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { Connection con = null; try { Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance(); con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///test", "root", "*****"); //String url = "jdbc:msql://200.210.220.1:1114/Demo"; //Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url,"",""); Statement stmt1 = con.createStatement(); Statement stmt2 = con.createStatement(); Statement stmt3 = con.createStatement(); Statement stmt4 = con.createStatement(); ResultSet rs0; ResultSet rs; ResultSet rs1; ResultSet rs2; String name; String hIx; int hIxInt; StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(); String affiliationSmall; ArrayList<String> affiliation = new ArrayList<String>(); ArrayList<Float> matchValues = new ArrayList<Float>(); ArrayList<Integer> hixValues = new ArrayList<Integer>(); ArrayList<Integer> idValues = new ArrayList<Integer>(); boolean moreFlag = false; String queryString; int tmpIdx; String name1; //get the hix at that index where the similarity is maximum int tmpHidx = 0; int tmpHix = 0; int id = 0; int count; int tmpidIdx = 0; //rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT id FROM libra.researchint WHERE id = 910887"); // Get name, affiliation , hIx from smalldb //rs = stmt1.executeQuery("SELECT name,aff,hIx FROM libra.smalldb"); // String cursorName = "OUR_CURSOR"; // stmt1.setCursorName(cursorName); //rs = stmt1.executeQuery("SELECT name,aff,hIx FROM libra.smalldb for update"); rs = stmt1.executeQuery("SELECT hIx FROM libra.smalldb for update"); rs0 = stmt2.executeQuery("SELECT name,aff FROM libra.smalldb"); while ( rs.next() && rs0.next() ) { //String lastName = rs.getString("id"); hIx = rs.getString("hIx"); hIxInt = Integer.parseInt(hIx); //if hIx if (hIxInt==-1) continue; //name = rs.getString("name"); name = rs0.getString("name"); name1 = new String(name); System.out.println(name); //affiliationSmall = rs.getString("aff"); affiliationSmall = rs0.getString("aff"); //name = "\"" +name+ "\""; // Get matching names from large faculty table //String queryString = "SELECT id,name,hIx FROM libra.faculty WHERE name = " +name; //name = does not work names are similar but not same (in faculty and // smalldb) String query = "SELECT id,name,hIx FROM libra.faculty WHERE name like ?"; //String query = "SELECT id,name,hIx FROM libra.faculty for update of hIx WHERE name like ?"; PreparedStatement prepStmt = con.prepareStatement(query); String[] nameArr = name.split(" "); StringBuffer tmpSb = new StringBuffer(); for(int idx = 0;idx<nameArr.length;idx++) { tmpSb.append(nameArr[idx] + "%"); } name = tmpSb.toString(); prepStmt.setString(1, name); rs1 = prepStmt.executeQuery(); //Try to get matching names from faculty big db //Execute the query on faculty table //rs1 = stmt2.executeQuery(queryString); if(rs1.isClosed()) continue; count = 0; matchValues.clear(); affiliation.clear(); while(rs1.next()) { //name = rs1.getString("name"); id = Integer.parseInt(rs1.getString("id")); //idValues.add(id); tmpHix = Integer.parseInt(rs1.getString("hIx")); queryString = "SELECT aff FROM libra.affiliation WHERE id = "+id; rs2 = stmt3.executeQuery(queryString); //affiliation = rs1.getString("aff"); sb.delete(0, sb.length()); while (rs2.next()) { //Concatenate it to the same string using a stringbuffer sb.append(rs2.getString("aff")); //affiliation.add(rs2.getString("aff")); } affiliation.add(sb.toString()); count++; // if(count1) // { // moreFlag = true; // //Call fuzzy match function, store the distance values and select the // //affiliation that has the minimum distance from affiliationSmall // // //problem is here, affiliation.get Index: 2, Size: 2 // // matchValues.add(fuzzyMatch(affiliationSmall,affiliation.get(count))); // hixValues.add(tmpHix); // idValues.add(id); // } }//end of while rs1 -> faculty rs1.close(); int idx = 0; if(count>1) { moreFlag = true; //Call fuzzy match function, store the distance values and select the //affiliation that has the minimum distance from affiliationSmall //problem is here, affiliation.get Index: 2, Size: 2 matchValues.add(fuzzyMatch(affiliationSmall,affiliation.get(idx))); hixValues.add(tmpHix); idValues.add(id); idx++; } if(moreFlag) { Object obj = Collections.max(matchValues); float maxVal = Float.parseFloat(obj.toString()); //int tmpIdx = matchValues.indexOf(new Float(maxVal)); //get the index at which similarity between affiliation strings is maximum, //as returned by fuzzyMatch //int tmpIdx = matchValues.indexOf(maxVal); tmpIdx = matchValues.indexOf(maxVal); //get the hix at that index where the similarity is maximum //int tmpHidx = hixValues.get(tmpIdx); tmpHidx = hixValues.get(tmpIdx); tmpidIdx = idValues.get(tmpIdx); //update the smalldb table String updateQ = "UPDATE libra.smalldb SET hIx = ?   • Authentification-None for one folder(page) when the project is under FormsAuthentifications

    - by Sirius Lampochkin
    I have a WebApplication on asp.net 2.0 with namespace Admin. I have Form Authentification mode for the project. <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms name="ASP_XML_Form" loginUrl="Login.aspx" protection="All" timeout="30" path="/" requireSSL="false" slidingExpiration="true" cookieless="AutoDetect"> </forms> </authentication> Now, I try to share one folder (one inside page) for not Authentificatied users: <location path="Recovery"> <system.web> <roleManager enabled="false" > </roleManager> <authentication mode="None"> </authentication> <authorization> <allow users="*" /> </authorization> <httpHandlers> <remove verb="GET" path="image.aspx" /> <remove verb="GET" path="css.aspx" /> </httpHandlers> </system.web> </location> But when I create the page inside the shared folder, it can't get access to the assembly. And I see the error like this: Could not load file or assembly 'Admin' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. It also shows me the error: ASP.NET runtime error: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. Does anybody know how to share (Authentification None) one folder(page) when the project is under FormsAuthentifications?

  • Attachment_fu file saving problem

    - by Anand
    Attachment_fu plugin is kind of old, but I have to modify an old app and I can't use another plugin like paperclip etc. So here's the code without further ado Submissions table structure --------------------------- | content_type | varchar(255) | YES | | NULL | filename | varchar(255) | YES | | NULL app/models/submission.rb ------------------------ has_attachment :storage => :file_system, :path_prefix => 'public/submissions', :max_size => 2.megabytes, :content_type => ['application/pdf', 'application/msword', 'text/plain'] app/models/user.rb ------------------ has_one :submission, :dependent => :destroy app/views/user/some_action.html.erb ----------------------------------- <% form_for :user, :url => { :action => "some_action" }, :html => {:multipart => true} do |f| %> .... <%= file_field_tag "submission[uploaded_data]" %> <%end%> app/controllers/user_controller.rb ---------------------------------- @user = User.find_user(session[:user_id]) @submission = @user.submission if request.post? @submission.uploaded_data = params[:submission][:uploaded_data] end When the form is submitted, the database fields "content_type" and "filename" get updated and display the correct values, but the file does not appear in public/submissions/ directory. I have checked the permissions on the submissions directory. What am I missing? Many Thanks

  • ASP.NET MVC routing issue with Google Chrome client

    - by synergetic
    My Silverlight 4 app is hosted in ASP.NET MVC 2 web application. It works fine when I browse with Internet Explorer 8. However Google Chrome (version 5) cannot find ASP.NET controllers. Specifically, the following ASP.NET controller works both with Chrome and IE. //[OutputCache(NoStore = true, Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "None")] public ContentResult TestMe() { ContentResult result = new ContentResult(); XElement response = new XElement("SvrResponse", new XElement("Data", "my data")); result.Content = response.ToString(); return result; } If I uncomment [OutputCache] attribute then it works with IE but not with Chrome. Also, I use custom model binding with controllers, so if I write the following: public ContentResult TestMe(UserContext userContext) { ... } it also works with IE, but again not with Chrome which gives me error message saying that resource was not found. Of course, I configured IIS 6 for handling all requests via aspnet_isapi.dll and I have registered custom model binder in my web app's Global.asax inside Application_Start() method. Can someone explain me what might be the cause? Thank you.

  • Login with Kohana auth module - what am I doing wrong?

    - by keithjgrant
    I'm trying to login with the following controller action, but my login attempt keeps failing (I get the 'invalid username and/or password' message). What am I doing wrong? I also tried the other method given in the examples in the auth documentation, Auth::instance()->login($user->username, $form->password);, but I get the same result. Kohana version is 2.3.4. public function login() { $auth = Auth::instance(); if ($auth->logged_in()) { url::redirect('/account/summary'); } $view = new View('login'); $view->username = ''; $view->password = ''; $post = $this->input->post(); $form = new Validation($post); $form->pre_filter('trim', 'username') ->pre_filter('trim', 'password') ->add_rules('username', 'required'); $failed = false; if (!empty($post) && $form->validate()) { $login = array( 'username' => $form->username, 'password' => $form->password, ); if (ORM::factory('user')->login($login)) { url::redirect('/accounts/summary'); } else { $view->username = $form->username; $view->message = in_array('required', $form->errors()) ? 'Username and password are required.' : 'Invalid username and/or password.'; } } $view->render(true); }

  • C# WPF Paginator printer ignoring user's printer selection

    - by Anders
    I am using the following code in my project. The print dialog shows, but it always prints on the default printer regardless of the user's selection. I have read similar topics but none of them seem to use the SerializerWriterCollator. What is the problem? PrintQueue printQueue = LocalPrintServer.GetDefaultPrintQueue(); XpsDocumentWriter xpsWriter = PrintQueue.CreateXpsDocumentWriter(printQueue); SerializerWriterCollator batchPrinter = xpsWriter.CreateVisualsCollator(); var printDialog = new PrintDialog(); if (printDialog.ShowDialog() == true) { PrintTicket ticket = printDialog.PrintTicket; ticket.PageOrientation = PageOrientation.Landscape; var paginator1 = new PagePrinter(winchFlightsCount, new Size(printDialog.PrintableAreaWidth, printDialog.PrintableAreaHeight), winchFlights); var paginator2 = new PagePrinter(tugFlightCount, new Size(printDialog.PrintableAreaWidth, printDialog.PrintableAreaHeight), tugFlights); var paginator3 = new PagePrinter(selfFlightCount, new Size(printDialog.PrintableAreaWidth, printDialog.PrintableAreaHeight), selfFlights); batchPrinter.BeginBatchWrite(); for (int i = 0; i < paginator1.PageCount; i++) { batchPrinter.Write(paginator1.GetPage(i).Visual, ticket); } for (int i = 0; i < paginator2.PageCount; i++) { batchPrinter.Write(paginator2.GetPage(i).Visual, ticket); } for (int i = 0; i < paginator3.PageCount; i++) { batchPrinter.Write(paginator3.GetPage(i).Visual, ticket); } batchPrinter.EndBatchWrite(); } }

  • tips for fixing bad coding/dev habits ?

    - by dfafa
    i want to become a better coder....so i have decided to sign up for computing science program...maybe a formal education can assist me. i started working on smaller projects to learn but currently i have really bad coding/dev habits which is hindering my productivity as the codebase increases.... i have highlighted them and perhaps someone could make suggestions (or redirect to resources) or a more efficient method. most stuff that i made in the past were web apps. i usually develop with putty + nano...i just love the minimalist feel i use winscp and develop directly on my private web server...too lazy to do it on localhost and upload it later. i dont use subversion control...which one do i need ? sometimes ctrl +z doesn't work well. when i run out of ideas for naming variable, i use swear words instead. i swear a lot when i get stuck....how to deal with anger issue ? my codes look ugly with comments everywhere. would rather use procedural coding finds "thinking" in OO difficult and time consuming i "write first think later". refactors code only if i am getting paid for it. dislikes configuring linux distro, Apache, MySQL, scaling, designing graphics and layouts. does not like writing tests likes working alone. does not like sharing codes. has an econ degree dislikes reading other people's code would rather write it on my own it seems my only true desire is to translate my ideas to a working prototype as fast as possible....it seems like i am very uninterested in the other details...could it be that i am not cut out to be a coder after all ? is going back to study comp sci a bad idea ?

  • Hibernate Bi- Directional many to many mapping advice!

    - by Rob
    hi all, i woundered if anyone might be able to help me out. I am trying to work out what to google for (or any other ideas!!) basically i have a bidirectional many to many mapping between a user entity and a club entity (via a join table called userClubs) I now want to include a column in userClubs that represents the role so that when i call user.getClubs() I can also work out what level access they have. Is there a clever way to do this using hibernate or do i need to rethink the database structure? Thank you for any help (or just for reading this far!!) the user.hbm.xml looks a bit like <set name="clubs" table="userClubs" cascade="save-update"> <key column="user_ID"/> <many-to-many column="activity_ID" class="com.ActivityGB.client.domain.Activity"/> </set> the activity.hbm.xml part <set name="members" inverse="true" table="userClubs" cascade="save-update"> <key column="activity_ID"/> <many-to-many column="user_ID" class="com.ActivityGB.client.domain.User"/> </set> The current userClubs table contains the fields id | user_ID | activity_ID I would like to include in there id | user_ID | activity_ID | role and be able to access the role on both sides...

  • Vertical Image Border Changes Alignment when Screen is not maximized

    - by Randy
    I have some pretty straightforward HTML code with a few tables to organize various items of text or images. All works fine except that I need to place a vertical border on both the left and right sides of the screen. I am able to do this with a 2x2 pixel image that I stretch out. When the user has their screen maximized, everything looks great. But when the user hits "Restore Down", then the borders stay in place, but the tables get shoved down so that they start below where the borders end, which is off screen. in other words, the relational alignment between the borders and the tables gets all screwed up. Does anybody know how to make this alignment stay consistent on a restore down? I'm pretty much a newbie with html and asp, so speak slowly. If there is a better method to accomplish this, I'm all ears. Thanks. Here is the relevant section of code: <%@ Master Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="MasterPage.master.cs" Inherits="MasterPage" % <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:Image ID="LeftBorder" src="../Images/Border_Blue.jpg" runat="server" WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="1000" BORDER="0" alt="Image Missing" align="left"/> <asp:Image ID="RightBorder" src="../Images/Border_Blue.jpg" runat="server" WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="1000" BORDER="0" alt="Image Missing" align="right" /> <table id="BannerTable" style="height: 100px"> <tr> <td width="934px"> <img src="../Images/Header.jpg" alt="Image Missing" id="ImgBanner" align="left"/></td> </tr> </table>
