• How to customize data points on a Flex graph?

  I have an area graph and I'm looking to have the data points to be shown. I have a CircleItemRenderer, but this shows all of the datapoints in the default stroke and fill. 1) How do I customize the display of my CircleItemRenderer? (instead of it having an orange fill, how can I change the color? 2) How can I decide to show the node for specific data points but not for others? For example, in my .XML file that imports the data for the graph, I may have a variable show_data_point which is true or false.   I have to send a name and a link from client side to the server. I thought of using AJAX called by Javascript to do this. This is what I mean. • Trying to draw a dynamic rectangle in SVG

  To be more specific, here are the steps I need: onmousedown - set x and y of rect as mouse coordinates onmousemove - using the current x and y mouse coordinates calculate height and width of the rect, set these and append onmouseup - remove the rectangle, and call a function based off some calculations from the rect.   I have this twisted client, which connects with a twisted server having an index. I ran this client from command-line. It worked fine. Now I modified it to run in loop (see main()) so that I can keep querying. But the client runs only once. Next time it simply says connection lost \n Connection lost - goodbye!.   I have a site that is using Forms Auth. The client does not want the site session to expire at all for users. • jQuery modal dialog on ajaxStart event

  I'm trying to use a jQuery UI modal dialog as a loading indicator via the ajaxStart, ajaxStop / ajaxComplete events. When the page fires, an Ajax handler loads some data, and the modal dialog shows just fine. However, it never hides or closes the dialog when the Ajax event is complete. It's a very small bit of code from the local server that is returned, so the actual Ajax event is very quick. Here's my actual code for the modal div: $("#modalwindow").dialog({ modal: true, height: 50, width: 200, zIndex: 999, resizable: false, title: "Please wait..." }) .bind("ajaxStart", function(){ $(this).show(); }) .bind("ajaxStop", function(){ $(this).hide(); }); The Ajax event is just a plain vanilla $.ajax({}) GET method call. Based on some searching here and Google, I've tried altering the ajaxStop handler to use $("#modalwindow").close(), $("#modalwindow").destroy(), etc. (#modalwindow referred to here as to give explicit context). I've also tried using the standard $("#modalwindow").dialog({}).ajaxStart(... as well. Should I be binding the events to a different object? Or calling them from within the $.ajax() complete event? I should mention, I'm testing on the latest IE8, FF 3.6 and Chrome. All have the same / effect.

  I'm trying to use SimpleXML to parse an XML document (an ItemLookupResponse for a book from the Amazon Product Advertising API) which contains the following element: <ItemAttributes> <Author>Shane Conder</Author> <Author>Lauren Darcey</Author> <Manufacturer>Pearson Educacion</Manufacturer> <ProductGroup>Book</ProductGroup> <Title>Android Wireless Application Development: Barnes & Noble Special Edition</Title> </ItemAttributes> My problem is that I don't know how to deal with the multiple possible Author elements. Here's what I have right now for the corresponding POJO (Plain Old Java Object), keeping in mind that it's not handling the case of multiple Authors: @Element public class ItemAttributes { @Element public String Author; @Element public String Manufacturer; @Element public String Title; } (I don't care about the ProductGroup, so it's not in the class -- I'm just setting SimpleXML's strict mode to off to allow for that.) I couldn't find an example in the documentation that corresponded with such a case. Using an ElementList with (inline=true) seemed along the right lines, but I didn't see how to do it for String (as opposed to a separate Author class, which I have no need for and don't see how it would even work). Here's a similar question and answer, but for PHP: php - simpleXML how to access a specific element with the same name as others? I don't know what the Java equivalent would be to the accepted answer. Thanks in advance.

  Hi everyone, I'm trying to modify the Notepad tutorial (the Notepadv3 solution) to take in a value into the NoteEdit class, given to by the Notepadv3 class. I've successfully used .putExtra in the OnListItemClick method to place the value into the NoteEdit class, but I'm struggling to do this for the createNote method; I'm getting a force close when I try to create a new note. I bet there's a simple solution, but I'm pretty new to Java & Android and would very much appreciate your help. If I do not create the pair of PipeThread instances, then p.waitFor() works perfectly. What is it about the piping of io streams that is causing p.waitFor() to continue blocking? I'm confused as I thought the IO streams would be passive, unable to keep a process alive, or to make Java think the process is still alive.

  Hi. I have 2 classes Tema(Homework) and Disciplina (course), where a Course has a Set of homeworks. In Hibernate i have mapped this to a one-to-many associations like this: <class name="model.Disciplina" table="devgar_scoala.discipline" > <id name="id" > <generator class="increment"/> </id> <set name="listaTeme" table="devgar_scoala.teme"> <key column="Discipline_id" not-null="true" ></key> <one-to-many class="model.Tema" ></one-to-many> </set> </class> <class name="model.Tema" table="devgar_scoala.teme" > <id name="id"> <generator class="increment" /> </id> <property name="titlu" type="string" /> <property name="cerinta" type="binary"> <column name="cerinta" sql-type="blob" /> </property> </class> The problem is that it will add (insert rows in the table 'Teme') but it won't delete any rows and i get no exceptions thrown. Im using the merge() method.

The problem is in that "img/loading.gif" and safari (on winXP): in ff and ie I have no problems, and I clearly see the animated gif. In safari I can't see it. If I change the image with a (obviously static) png the image appears... Am I doing something wrong? What's the problem with safari?

Also, 'should be first/last' are mixed and it's not clear which one to use as 'first'. I do understand the difference.. however it seems to complicated for a newbie in Django. • Refactor throwing not null exception if using a method that has a dependency on a certain contructor

  In the method below the second constructor accepts a ForumThread object which the IncrementViewCount() method uses. There is a dependency between the method and that particular constructor. Without extracting into a new private method the null check in IncrementViewCount() and LockForumThread() (plus other methods not shown) is there some simpler re-factoring I can do or the implementation of a better design practice for this method to guard against the use of the wrong constructor with these dependent methods?
