  • Spring 3 Annotations

    - by jboyd
    I can't get spring annotations to work at all, I'm just trying to get the simplest thing to work... .../mycontext/something - invokes method: @RequestMapping(value = "/something") @ResponseBody public String helloWorld() { System.out.println("hello world"); return "Hello World"; } My main problem is no matter how hard I try, I can't find a complete SIMPLE example of the configuration files needed, every spring tutorial is filled with junk, I just one one controller to handle a request with a mapping and can't get it to work does anyone know of a simple and complete spring example. pet-clinic is no good, it's way too complicated, I have a tiny basic use case and it's proving to be a real pain to get working (this always happens with Spring)

The .vcf file contains all the details of all contacts including photos etc. Cheers, Prateek

  • Hot deploy not longer working on JBoss

    - by Bernhard V
    Hi! I've got a pretty annoying problem with my JBoss AS 4.2.3 GA. Until recently everything was running fine, but now the hot deploy feature is now longer working. And -- as always -- I don't know what I did to cause this behaviour. My projects are built with Maven. I've cleaned every target directory, installed the projects and then deployed them to the server. So the sources in Eclipse and the deployed projects on the server should be identical. Inside a method I've added a simple System.out.println("test"); statement and -- BANG! -- I get the following error: Do you know a way out of my trouble?

  • Get name of currently executing test in JUnit 4

    - by Dave Ray
    In JUnit 3, I could get the name of the currently running test like this: public class MyTest extends TestCase { public void testSomething() { System.out.println("Current test is " + getName()); ... } } which would print "Current test is testSomething". Is there any out-of-the-box or simple way to do this in JUnit 4? Background: Obviously, I don't want to just print the name of the test. I want to load test-specific data that is stored in a resource with the same name as the test. You know, convention over configuration and all that. Thanks!

  • Error after installing scala plugin of netbeans

    - by ghedas
    I installed the scala plugin on my netbeans and followed the instruction of this page: http://wiki.netbeans.org/Scala68v1#Scala_Plugins_for_NetBeans_6.8_v1.x_.28RC2.29 but after it completed correctly step by step, when I make an empty project (Hello world!), the project has an error! The empty project is here: package scalaapplication1 object Main { /** * @param args the command line arguments */ def main(args: Array[String]): Unit = { println("Hello, world!") } } and the console error report is: ...\NetBeansProjects\ScalaApplication2\nbproject\build-impl.xml:403: The following error occurred while executing this line: ...\NetBeansProjects\ScalaApplication2\nbproject\build-impl.xml:236: scalac doesn't support the "fork" attribute Is there any suggestion about it?!

  • How to draw RTL text (Arabic) onto a Bitmap and have it ordered properly?

    - by Casey
    I'm trying to draw Arabic text onto a Bitmap for display: Bitmap img = Bitmap.createBitmap( (int) f+100, 300, Config.RGB_565); Canvas c = new Canvas(); c.setBitmap( img ); mFace = Typeface.createFromAsset(getAssets(),"DejaVuSansCondensed.ttf"); mPaint.setTypeface(mFace); content = "????"; content = ArabicUtilities.reshape( content ); System.out.println("Drawing text: " + content); c.drawText(content, 30, 30, mPaint); The ArabicUtilities class is a tool to reshape the unicode text so the letters are connected. see: http://github.com/agawish/Better-Arabic-Reshaper/ However, the bitmap that is generated looks like this: When it should look like ???? I believe the issue is because, unlike a TextView, the Bitmap class is not BiDi aware, so it draws the letters from left to write. Try as I might, I can't figure out how to draw the text in the correct order.

  • Passing parametrized ArrayList to a function in java

    - by user150505
    I have the following fucntion. func(ArrayList <String> name) { ........ } The function fills the ArrayList. (I don't want to return the ArrayList) However, in the caller function the ArrayList obtained has all items of ArrayList as null. For eg. 1 name = new ArrayList[num]; 2 func(name); 3 System.out.println(name[0]); I get NullPointerException at line 3. Is this because of line 1, i.e. I am not parametrizing? If yes, is there another way this can be done? Because java does not allow creating a generic array of parametrized ArrayList.

  • Why does this break statement break not work?

    - by Roman
    I have the following code: public void post(String message) { final String mess = message; (new Thread() { public void run() { while (true) { try { if (status.equals("serviceResolved")) { output.println(mess); Game.log.fine("The following message was successfully sent: " + mess); break; } else { try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch (InterruptedException ie) {} } } catch (NullPointerException e) { try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch (InterruptedException ie) {} } } } }).start(); } In my log file I find a lot of lines like this: The following message was successfully sent: blablabla The following message was successfully sent: blablabla The following message was successfully sent: blablabla The following message was successfully sent: blablabla And my program is not responding. It seems to me that the break command does not work. What can be a possible reason for that. The interesting thing is that it happens not all the time. Sometimes my program works fine, sometimes the above described problem happens.

  • How to stop endless EJB 3 timer ?

    - by worldpython
    Hi, I am new to EJB 3 . I use the following code to start endless EJB 3 timer then deploying it on JBOSS 4.2.3 @Stateless public class SimpleBean implements SimpleBeanRemote,TimerService { @Resource TimerService timerService; private Timer timer ; @Timeout public void timeout(Timer timer) { System.out.println("Hello EJB"); } } then calling it timer = timerService.createTimer(10, 5000, null); It works well. I created a client class that calls a method that creates the timer and a method that is called when the timer times out. I forget to call cancel then it does not stop .redeploy with cancel call never stop it. restart Jboss 4.2.3 never stop it. How I can stop EJB timer ? Thanks for helping.

  • Casting to generic type in Java doesn't raise ClassCastException?

    - by Kip
    I have come across a strange behavior of Java that seems like a bug. Is it? Casting an Object to a generic type (say, K) does not throw a ClassCastException even if the object is not an instance of K. Here is an example: import java.util.*; public final class Test { private static<K,V> void addToMap(Map<K,V> map, Object ... vals) { for(int i = 0; i < vals.length; i += 2) map.put((K)vals[i], (V)vals[i+1]); //Never throws ClassCastException! } public static void main(String[] args) { Map<String,Integer> m = new HashMap<String,Integer>(); addToMap(m, "hello", "world"); //No exception System.out.println(m.get("hello")); //Prints "world", which is NOT an Integer!! } }

  • TreeMap randomly stops properly returning values

    - by smessing
    I have the following TreeMap: TreeMap<String, Integer> distances = new TreeMap<String, Integer>(); and it contains both strings, "Face" and "Foo", with appropriate values, such that: System.out.println(distances); Yields: {Face=12, Foo=2} However, distances.get(Face) returns null, even though distances.get(Foo) properly returns 2. Previously, distances.get(Face) worked, but for some reason, it stopped working. Note I print out the map right before calling get() for both keys, so I haven't accidentally changed Face's value to null. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? Is there anything I can do? I'm having a terrible time simply trying to figure out how to debug this problem.

  • Rotate a 2d matrix to the right

  • Returning in a static initializer

    - by Martijn Courteaux
    Hello, This isn't valid code: public class MyClass { private static boolean yesNo = false; static { if (yesNo) { System.out.println("Yes"); return; // The return statement is the problem } System.exit(0); } } This is a stupid example, but in a static class constructor we can't return;. Why? Are there good reasons for this? Does someone know something more about this? So the reason why I should do return is to end constructing there. Thanks

  • How to compare two maps by their values

    - by lewap
    How to compare two maps by their values? I have two maps containing equal values and want to compare them by their values. Here is an example: Map a = new HashMap(); a.put("f"+"oo", "bar"+"bar"); a.put("fo"+"o", "bar"+"bar"); Map b = new HashMap(); a.put("f"+"oo", "bar"+"bar"); a.put("fo"+"o", "bar"+"bar"); System.out.println("equals: " + a.equals(b)); // obviously false .... what to call to obtain a true? Obviously, to implement a comparison it not difficult, it is enough to compare all keys and their associated values. I don't believe I'm the first one to do this, so there must be already a library functions either in java or in one of the jakarta.commons libraries. Thanks

Instead they appear to simply refresh the view page. I have ran the app in debug and neither update or delete method is hit. I suspect this may be due to using h:commandButton within a p:dataTable. However, I have also tried p:commandButton but to no avail. For reference, here is a snippet of the UserController class: @ManagedBean(name="uController") public class UserController extends AbstractController { private Collection<User> users; ... public String update() { System.out.println("Ready for update"); return "update-user"; } public String delete() { System.out.println("Ready for delete"); return "delete-user"; } ... }
