• Batch to copy and replace a txt file from one server to another

  I have two servers, server1 and server2 on same network but require username and password to be mapped. server1 has a text file as C:\Users\output.txt. I want to create and schedule a batch script on server1, which should copy and replace output.txt file from server1 to server2 at path E:\data\output.txt on daily basis. I don't want to map server2 manually every time I start my computer nor do I want to enter my username and password each time. I am using following commands in a batch, but not working; net use C: \\server2\E:\data server2password /user:server2domain\server2username /savecred /p:yes xcopy C:\Users\output.txt E:\data\

• Problem when exiting search in iPhone

  Hi. I have a search display controller, and it is searching well. I'm searching in a table with several sections and I have a viewForHeaderInSection function working as it's supposed to. When I start searching, my numberOfSectionsForTableView returns 1, and I have a special view saying "Search Results" wich I use in self.searchDisplayController.searchResultsTableView. The problem happens when I select a row in my searchResultsTableView: I change the view, and when I return and try to exit the searchDisplayController (by pressing the CancelButton), the tables change nice, but changing the viewforHeader for my first section is not "pretty". I have a "kind-of-click" anymation. I would like it to not be so noticeable for the user, having a more "fluid" change. Anybody had the same problem and knows how to solve it? In a different question (which would work as a workaround): how can I hide the keyboard while searching without pressing the Cancel or Search buttons? Thanks a lot!

  At my company we want to start using a dependency injection (DI) framework for managing our dependencies. I have some difficulty with explaining the business value of such a framework. Currently I have come up with these reasons. Less source code, delete all the builder patterns in the code. Increase in flexibility. Easier to switch dependencies. Better separation of concern. The framework is responsible for creating instances instead of our code. Has anybody else had to persuade management? How did you do that? What reasons did you use?

• Disallow typing of few of characters e.g.'<', '>' in all input textboxes using jquery

  How do I achieve this:- When user types character like 'abcd' and then '>'(an invalid character for my application), I want to set the text back to 'abcd'. Better if we can cancel the input itself as we do in winforms application. This should happen when user is typing and not on a click of button. I want this to be applied on all text boxes in my web page. This will be easy if the solution is jQuery based. May be something which will start like this. $("input[type='text']")

• Efficient retrieval of lists over WebServices

  I have a WCF WebService that uses LINQ and EF to connect to an SQL database. I have an ASP.NET MVC front end that collects its data from the webservice. It currently has functions such as List<Customer> GetCustomers(); As the number of customers increases massively the amount of data being passed increases also reducing efficiency. What is the best way to "page data" across WebServices etc. My current idea is to implement a crude paging system such as List<Customer> GetCustomers(int start, int length); This, however, means I would have to replicate such code for all functions returning List types. It is unfortunate that I cannot use LINQ as it would be much nicer. Does anyone have any advice or ideas of patterns to implement that would be "as nice as possible" Thanks

  Hi, I was trying some problems with my 2D ruby array and my LOC reduces a lot when I do array slicing. So for example, require "test/unit" class LibraryTest < Test::Unit::TestCase def test_box array = [[1,2,3,4],[3,4,5,6], [5,6,7,8], [2,3,4,5]] puts array[1][2..3] # 5, 6 puts array[1..2][1] # 5, 6, 7, 8 end end I want to know if there is a way to get a diagonal slice? Lets say I want to start at [0,0] and want a diagonal slice of 3. Then I would get elements from [0,0], [1,1], [2,2] and I will get an array like [1,4,7] for example above. Is there any magic one-liner ruby code that can achieve this? 3.times do {some magic stuff?}

• Long to timestamp for historic data (pre-1900s)

  I have a database of start and stop times that have previously all had fairly recent data (1960s through present day) which i've been able to store as long integers. This is very simialr to unix timestamps, only with millisecond precision, so a function like java.util.Date.getTime() would be the value of the current time. This has worked well so far, but we recently got data from the 1860s, and the following code no longer works: to_timestamp('1-JAN-1970 00:00:00', 'dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss') + numtodsinterval(int_to_convert/(1000),'SECOND' ); This wraps the date and we get timestamps in the year 2038. Is there a way around this issue? All of the documentation i've looked at the documentation and timestamps should be able to handle years all the way back to the -4000 (BC), so i'm suspecting an issue with the numtodsinterval. Any ideas suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

(my server may be in another timezone).   When I first start one of my Wordpress blogs, I had the permanent URL for each post include the date of posting. The slug format looked like this: /blog/2010/01/25/this-is-my-article/ Later on, I changed it so that the date was not included in the permanent URL, like this: /blog/this-is-my-article/ and setup a redirect plugin to make sure that users would get to the page they wanted until the site was re-indexed. In Google Analytics, when I review the stats for content I now have multiple records for what is essentially the same page. ie: Top Content List: 45 Pageviews- /blog/this-is-my-article/ 24 Pageviews- /blog/2010/01/25/this-is-my-article/ 33 Pageviews- /blog/some-other-article/ Is there any way to combine those records somehow?

I have read a lot of articles about AI in board games, minmax with or without alphabeta pruning, but I don't really know how to implements this, I don't know where to start... About my game, this is a turn-based game, each player has pieces on the board, they have to pick one and choose in moving this piece (1 or 2 cells max) or clone the piece (1 cell max).   I have a range of two datetimes: DateTime start = new DateTime(2012,4,1); DateTime end = new DateTime(2016,7,1); And I wish to get all periods GROUPED BY YEAR between this period. Meaning the output has to be: 2012-04-01 - 2012-12-31 2013-01-01 - 2013-12-31 2014-01-01 - 2014-12-31 2015-01-01 - 2015-12-31 2016-01-01 - 2016-07-01 Preferably the output would be in IList<Tuple<DateTime,DateTime>> list. How would you do this ? Is there anyway to do this with LINQ somehow ? Oh and daylight saving time is not absolutely critical, but surely a bonus. Thanks!

  Hello, I have used Eclipse 3.4 to create a Dynamic Web Project. I have also configured my server to use port 8443 with ssl. If I start my server I can access my test.jsp by going to it's address https://localhost:8443/TestContext/test.jsp In eclipse, I have installed this server and added my project to the server. If I Run test.jsp it always launches as http://localhost:8080/TestContext/test.jsp My question is: How can I set up eclipse to run this on https://localhost:8443/ rather than the default 8080?   Hi! I've decided to learn Symfony and right now I am reading through the very start of the "Practical Symfony" book. After reading the "Web Server Configuration" part I have a question. The manual is describing how to correctly configure the server: browser should have access only to web/ and sf/.../ directories. The manual has great instructions regarding this and being a Linux user I had no problem following them and making everything work on my local machine. However that involves editing VirtualHost entries which normally is not easy to do on common shared hosting servers. So I wonder what is the common technique that Symfony developers use to get the same results in shared hosting environment? I think I can do that by adding "deny from all" in the root and then overwriting that rule in the allowed directories. However I am not sure if that's the easiest way and the way that is normally used.

  I want to measure time taken for client to receive data over tcp using c#. Im using NetworkStream.Read to read 100 megabits of data that are sent using NetworkStream.Write. I set the buffer to the same size of data, so there no buffer underrun problem etc. Generally it looks like this. Stopwatch sw = new Stopwatch(); sw.Start(); stream.Read(bytes, 0, bytes.Length); sw.Stop(); The problem is, there is a possibility where the sender hasnt actually sent the data but the stopwatch is already running. how can i accurately measure the time taken to receive the data? i did try to use the time lapse of the remote pc stream.Write, but the time it took to write is extremely small. by the way, is the stopwatch is the most accurate tool for this task?

I thought I could do some self-joins to deal with this, but I am worried in the cases where the non-key fields have the same data in multiple rows.

• Visual Studio 2010 doesn't install the editor

  For some reason when I install Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate using the web installer the actual editor (the IDE) doesn't get installed! What am I missing? If it helps this is a Windows 7 x64 machine. Thanks. Update: I tried doing a full uninstall and full re-install and still didn't get the editor. I do have the Stand Alone Shell (Isolated) installed for Atmel Studio 6, but it shouldn't be a problem.
