  • Software to automate website screenshot capture

    Do you know any software that can automate the process of getting screenshots of every page of a website? It would act like a spider/crawler/robot. You name it... For example: I developed a website and now I'd like to get a screenshot of every page of the site. I of course could do it manually (a lot of work). For each module of the site (Student, Payment, etc) I have different pages (Create, Edit, Details, Delete, etc) forms. The thing I'm looking for is a software that can visit every link of the site and then capture the screen - a software that can automate the whole process. It would also be good if the software allowed the user to pass a list of URLs to capture screenshots allowing even more fine grained configuration. EDIT: I tried Selenium mentioned by Aaron in his answer but I managed to find an app that does exactly what I needed. It's called Paparazzi!.     With Microsoft Ultimate Wisdom they have changed the location of updates from Registry. I can get the updates from Windows 2003 Servers no problem. Its just that Windows 7 is no longer in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Any body got any other ways to get it. Preferably in C# or using WMI?     Hi, I've been using Wim2Vhd to create native boot vhd files. (I'm using this to keep several development environments ready, I'm a developer, I know -- I need help ;-) Now the first boot always ends up in several minutes installing all of the windows updates... I' know I could avoid this if I had a massive list of qfe (.msu) packages that I could supply to the command line of Wim2Vhd. Where can I find all of the updates so I can download them. I have found this: http://www.megaleecher.net/Downloading_Microsoft_Windows_7_Offline_Updates but I'd like a more official source and I'd like an easier way to download them all. I'm a developer, so if I find the information (web service?) to get all the current packages, I'll build a tool to download them to a single location and generate a list of them for use with Wim2Vhd.

  • Keeping packages on a large number of openSUSE servers updated

    Question for anyone out there managing a network of openSUSE machines. How do you keep track of and apply updates? I know about YaST Online Update (YOU) but it seems more geared towards keeping a single machine up to date. It doesn't seem to scale well to a larger number of machines. How do you keep your machines updated? Our network is fairly heterogenous in terms of package installation as the servers are mostly infrastructure machines with varying roles. I know that SUSE Linux Enterprise has tools to manage updates network-wide, but updating to that is currently not an option for budget reasons.

    I need at least Java 1.6 to run a program that someone else in my lab wrote On the Java website it tells me to update Java via apple's software update function, i've run this a few times but it only got up to Java 1.5.0_24 and it now says no more updates are available for my computer Is there another way to update Java on a Mac? Is my operating system maybe to old for Java 1.6? i'm not sure what i'm running exactly, and i can't find a list of what mac operating systems run what versions of Java because the java site just suggests using Mac's software update.

  • Getting file updates in folders with no permission.

    I've been working on a program to monitor a network folder to find out which spreadsheets our company uses are the most popular. I'm using the FileSystemWatcher class in C# to do the monitoring. I've noticed I'm getting updates to files that are in folders that my user does not have permission to browse. I understand that my software is subscribing to a list of updates done by other system software and not actually browsing those files itself, but is this functionality intentional or is it a bug?

I could follow all the steps, but the supposedly successfully published software does not appear on client/user machine's Add/Remove Programs. Could some help figure why this may not be working.   • Why are there two types of Adobe Flash Player download / update?

    Adobe Flash Player checks for updates at startup. If updates are required the Adobe dialog pops up with a [Download] button. Usually when I hit the [Download] button it downloads it straight away with a progress bar that zips across the dialog. I then get the option to install it. All good. However, sometimes when I hit the [Download] button it takes me to the website: https://get3.adobe.com/flashplayer/update/plugin/ Which presents me with an [Update now] button (and to install McAfee!). What is this for? Why didn't it download and install in the "usual" way? So, why are there apparently two different update methods for what appears to be the same thing? One is nice and swish and integrated into the updater, the other more long winded. In fact, I don't [Update now] when it takes me to the website, because I'm like "Hey, what's this?!"

I tried implementing OAuth in my site, but the user actually has to manually authenticate before being able to post anything to twitter. How can I use OAuth and still let my website post updates automatically, without me having to manually click on "authenticate"?

I can deploy them as MSIs via group policies just fine. But what happens when the client software detects updates? What are common ways to handle this? Disable the software's autoupdate feature?     I'm running Windows Server 2008 Standard running in VMware. It has 2 disks: system disk: 16 GB data disk: 500 MB I installed Visual Studio 2008 SP1 + MSDN and some small tools and libraries that don't take much space. Over time the system disk's free space has been going down (I suspect because of regular system updates - NetFx (.NET), service packs, and regular updates). Questions 1 How do you remove Windows Update uninstall files from Windows Server 2008? Question 2 I also found lots of files in C:/Windows/Installer folder. Is it possible to determine which .msp file goes with which patch? I would like to delete some of them, because they do take a lot of space.

    I am very new to this subject and was hoping someone could shed some light on it. I am working on creating a corporate network that will obviously have multiple servers and multiple workstations. Let's say a new version of Adobe Flash comes out. I would think that you would want to test this update in a test environment before "pushing it out" to the servers and workstations. How do you guys go about controlling, testing and then pushing the application updates out? (i am not talking about windows updates). Do you use a 3rd party sysadmin tool? Home grown software? Any info will greatly be appreciated :)

  • Driver corruption when deploying Dell Touchpad Drivers (with software) during imaging process

    We're an sccm shop, and use it to deploy Windows. When deploying Dell laptops (multiple models), the touchpad drivers seem install properly, but the software doesn't. The resulting problem is that when the touchpad is pressed on occasion, the mouse pointer will 'jump' to certain points on the screen. A possible symptom of this problem/visible sign is if the touchpad icon isn't in the system tray. The software is in the control panel, but when opened part of the gui is pixelated, indicating botched install maybe? The manual resolution to this, is to go into device manager and uninstall the driver with the option to uninstall all driver software. After a restart, the driver and software is apparently reinstalled, and from there works as expected. Obviously this partially defeats the purpose of a zero touch deployment. If anyone knows why this is and/or a possible workaround, those answers would be valid as well. Barring that, I want to find a way to deploy the driver and touchpad software in an unattended way, so that it can be conditionally installing during the imaging process. To be honest I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this, I suppose I could try drvinst.exe to install the driver, but finding out why this fails initially would keep me from spinning my wheels.
