So what I would love to have is language switch menu item, that would point to the other language (other then the current one).     I'm calling a function that's loaded in custom js file in the header. my.js has $(document).ready(function(){ function testFunction(){ alert("inside testfunction"); } }); after a few clicks, this is loaded in the : $("#someid").live($.myapp.event.play, function(event) { alert("this works"); testFunction(); }); the alert "this works", fires, but then nothing happens, what am I doing wrong?

    Currently, as far as I am aware, you need to use the CompizConfig Settings Manager application to play with the Unity configuration settings. While this makes sense, from a technical point of view, it requires the user to know about the settings manager, install it, and then find the Unity options within it. Not very user friendly. Is there a user friendly configuration application planned that will offer all the configuration options in an easy-to-use for new people fashion?

    Textmate on the Mac can be bound to the txmt protocol, meaning that development frameworks (such as the Play Framework) can be configured to use this to display error messages. If a stacktrace appears, each line of the stacktrace is a URL of the format (I'm guessing): txmt:///home/myuser/projects/myproject/ProblemFile.java:123 (where 123 is the line number). Clicking this opens the file in Textmate. Is this possible with Gedit, Geany or another programmer's text editor?

  • Nvidia R310 Drivers break Starcraft

    I was originally using the latest proprietary Nvidia drivers from nvidia-current, after upgrading the new R310 drivers my system works fine, but Starcraft 2 won't run anymore. (I'm running it through play-on-linux) I get that the application has attempted to load the C runtime library incorrectly and that DirectX failed to initialize. Previously, executing echo 0|sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope would fix the problem, but does no longer work. Any ideas? Or do I have to downgrade back to nvidia-current drivers.

  • What's the closest thing to Apple's SpriteKit on Android devices? [on hold]

    I've been playing around with the iOS 7 SpriteKit APIs and I totally love them. As I'm pretty much a n00b on Android, I'm wondering what the best Alternative would be if I wanted to go cross platform? I find Cocos2D learning curve pretty steep, where with SpriteKit it's a matter of minutes to get something on the screen. Then there's MonoGame and Cocos 2D for MonoGame - haven't tried either one I must admit.

But I would love to look at other sites which have already implemented a full website using this template. So I am looking for a tool which searches sites having a similar HTML as the demos (and therefore are probably implementing the template). I am referring to templates which do not have a static text like "Created with Template FooBar by BarFoo" in the footer.

When you find a collision between object 1 and object 2, do you play immediately a sound effect or do you insert it in a list and, in a later a stage, do you process all sound effects? Same question as above for user input. When the user presses key 'keypad left' do you insert the event in a queue and process it later or do you update character position immediately? Thx

Both phones need to be able to pass 3 integer values to the other phone in real time.     I would like to know how people usually save the animations in order to load them easily in Cocos2d with as few hard-code as possible. E.G. The solution I thought of is to have one plist file containing information about each frame, and the second plist to contain information about each of the animation(name of the animation, which frames to play, and the delay probably). If this is the correct solution, how can I generate such plist files for spritesheet automatically?

    How do I make menus look transparent in Gnome-shell? In unity, I use ubuntu-tweak to do this(In ubuntu tweak , Go to Desktop-Compiz settings and then select Enable transparent menus option). Since compiz is no longer being used in gnome-shell, this is not working any more . Any alternatives ? I love gnome-shell but I am still missing some awesome features of compiz like "wobbly windows" and other desktop effects!
