It is so great to see such a supportive place - featuring the knowledge exchange! today i have the following thing to discuss: i want to separate the following data that are stored in one column of a calc-spreadsheet: See the following data: You see that there are the following categories:_ steet, postal-code, town All the data are stored in only one Colum; Well to be honest: i want to separate them into three colums steet, postal-code, town see the data: what can i do? note - you see that there are commas inbetween the enties: and besides this we see that we have a postal-code with four digits: that is a good thing. Perhaps we can use this as a marker that helps us to separate the data?! Perhaps See a data-sample! Here you can see some exceptions: eg. the town that has two words combinde with a "-" ... or somethims without any signs and characters... see the following... as an example: Max-Bader-Platz 1, 5620 Schwarzach im Pongau Pestalozzistraße 4, 9990 Nussdorf-Debant Schulstraße 4, 5162 Obertrum am See But i guess that this means no problem...   • How to fix emacs popup dialogs on Mac OS X??

    Hello emacs gurus, I'm out of ideas here - my emacs crashes when popup dialog is opened. The x-popup-dialog function is probably to blame but I found no workaround to this. My Emacs version is 23.1.1 . Unfortunately some functionality of emacs calls this (e.x. customize asks whether it should save the changes) which causes the crash. Does anybody know how to fix it or disable it?

  • Windows 7 File shares randomly not accessible from OSx

    Hello Everyone!, My setup is I have a windows 7 computer acting as a file server. All my computers can connect to it fine including my mac. The problem is that randomly the mac will get kicked off the file share (even when i am in the middle of using it) and will not be allowed to reconnect to it until i reboot the windows 7 machine. (Rebooting the mac doesn't help) Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen?

    Hello, I just found out by using TCPView that one of my svchost.exe had an http connection in "CLOSE_WAIT" to a strange ip address, although no other visible program was running. With the help of Process Explorer I discovered that this svchost was using the WebClient windows service. I'm wondering how I can figure out what program used WebClient to connect to this ip, in order to determine if it's malware.

    Hello, I've defined SMART_HOST to be a specific server, lets call it foo.bar.com. However, when I send a test mail using 'sendmail -t', sendmail tries to use mx.bar.com, which subsequently rejects my mail. I've verified that foo.bar.com works and that mx.bar.com does not work (yay telnet). I've recompiled sendmail.mc vi make, make -C and m4. I've verified the DS entry in sendmail.cf. I've restarted sendmail correctly. I'm not sure how to proceed at this point. Any ideas? Here is my SMART_HOST line: define(SMART_HOST',foo.bar.com')dnl ...and here is the result of a test mail. It never tries to use foo.bar.com, instead it uses mx.bar.com. $ echo subject: test; echo | sendmail -Am -v -flocaluser -- [email protected] subject: test [email protected]...     Hello, on linux we autenticate users against AD. The AD users are not listed on /etc/passwd. We are about to deploy a NFS solution to mount some extra space for each group of users. If a user(A) with sudo su privileges goes to root, then he can impersonate user(B) just by su user(B) and going to the NFS. Is there any way to disallow root to su user if the user is not listed on /etc/passwd ? Thanks.

Is it possible to install some sort of SIP server/gateway/proxy (on a linux server), that would register those 4 accounts and I would be able to connect to it as if it was 1 account? So it's 100% on my own risk and I can be hacked easily on any apt-get upgrade or a-g install or a-g dist-upgrade? for example the very basic ones like "telnet" or any other.

In http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc938440.aspx , says that FAT32 is faster when using smaller volumes. Ok separate disk, will give more performance than same disk. But did anyone test this? Scenario 1 : Separate hard disk FAT32 (small volume) Scenario 2 : Separate hard disk NTFS which one will win? minimum gain?
