  I need to generate custom SIDs for users in my web application for use with Microsoft AzMan. What is the best way to do this? What do I need to know before doing this? I have hooked up a high resolution camera to my system to capture (moving) images into my c# app. Now all I need is a way to interpret these images into something readable.   I've noticed that if you sent a query string routevalue through asp.net mvc you end up with all whitespaces urlencoded into "%20". What is the best way of overriding this formatting as I would like whitespace to be converted into the "+" sign? I was thinking of perhaps using a custom Route object or a class that derives from IRouteHandler but would appreciate any advice you might have.

• Responding to preference updates in Android

  I am calling a PreferenceActivity from another activity and then updating the application state (ie: changing the font size) on onActivityResult, based on the preference changes. I was thinking it would be better to put the state update logic in the PreferenceActivity. That way I don't have the duplicate the logic in each activity that calls the PreferenceActivity.   Is there a concise list of SQL Server stored procedure errors that make sense to automatically retry? Obviously, retrying a "login failed" error doesn't make sense, but retrying "timeout" does. I'm thinking it might be easier to specify which errors to retry than to specify which errors not to retry.   Isn't it true that every assert statement can be translated to an Assert.IsTrue, since by definition, you are asserting whether something is true or false? Why is it that test frameworks introduce options like AreEquals, IsNotNull, and especially IsFalse? I feel I spend too much time thinking about which Assert to use when I write unit tests.
