• Toggle Image Overlays in Google Maps API v3

  Hey guys. I've been building a small library for myself for a job I have at the moment building a map for a university. I've gotten pretty well everything I need in some basic form, but one thing has simply not been working, and is simply not giving me results. The university itself is sort of in a partnership with the neighboring college. It's been decided that both campuses should be included. I need to be able to toggle on/off the overlays of the campuses individually. i.e. Start with all campuses ON. User then turns OFF college campus, university overlay stays up. User can then turn it back on to display the college once more, or turn off the university as well, leaving no overlays. Here's a work in progress I'm doing at the moment: http://bgsweb.ca/maps/generator.html Basically, we need to take the one overlay, split it into multiple overlays, and enable the toggling of each individual overlay. Any assistance much appreciated!

• jQuery - Outputting jquery results to a hidden form field

  Hey All, I was wondering how i could output the results from my jQuery to a hidden form field so i can then shove it into the database. Im using the Calendar function found here - http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/index.html Apparently the following code gets the array, but im not sure how to forward it to the hidden field. $('.date-picker').dpGetSelected() From what i can tell i want the dpGetSelected to run with when the following is triggered dpClosed Its all a bit confusing to me. • Again: Android Stock browser vs. WebView?

  maybe a very easy question, but this drives me crazy... I work in company where we develope apps based on webviews. Everytime something went wrong, my boss tells me: "Hey look, the page runs nicely in the android browser, so it has to run that way in the app. Make it happen." I know that every manufacturer has his own implementation, discussed here: Android WebView VS Phone Browser But i want to keep my question simple: Is the android stock browser a pimped webview or in other words, extends the android browser from webview-class ? • How to interpret situations where Math.Acos() reports invalid input?

  Hey all. I'm computing the angle between two vectors, and sometimes Math.Acos() returns NaN when it's input is out of bounds (-1 input && input 1) for a cosine. What does that mean, exactly? Would someone be able to explain what's happening? Any help is appreciated! I have two questions on In App Purchase. iAP application process: do I need to submit my iAP items applications, wait for Apple's responses, then build my app accordingly, or, I can just create some iAP items, build them into my app, then after everything's done, submit my binary to Apple? Intermediary currency: on Apple's documentation I found these sentences: "You may not offer items that represent intermediary currency because it is important that users know the specific good or service that they are buying." • UITextView or UIWebView with normal words looking like links

  Hey guys, I was looking at the Twitter for iPhone app and was puzzled. First of all, there are normal words looking like links inside. Second, when I touch those link-like words, the text view (or maybe web view) jumps to the corresponding part below (yes, it doesn't open Safari, it just jumps to the text within that text/web view) Now I want to implement the same effects. I should base my implementation on what? UITextView or UIWebView? How to make normal words look like links? How to make those smooth jumps within such a text/web views? Thanks in advance.

• Is it possible to replace a div element with jquery and update the dom?

  Hey guys quick question, I want to update the contents of a div with two new divs to take the place of the previous ones. Each new div has a unique id to take the place of the old ones. I then want any further update to use the ids of the new divs as their values instead of the original. Is this possible in Jquery?   Hey community, I want to create an navigation with anchors. By clicking on a navigation link, the whole visible page should scroll down to the clicked anchor. • Create a complex SQL query?

  Hey guys, I have a program that allows me to run queries against a large database. I have two tables that are important right now, Deposits and withdraws. Each contains a history of every user. I need to take each table, add up every deposit and withdraws (per user), then subtract the withdraws from the deposits. I then need to return every user whos result is negative (aka they withdrew more then they deposited). Is this possible in one query? Example: Deposit Table: |ID|UserName|Amount| |1 | Use1 |100.00| |2 | Use1 |50.00 | |3 | Use2 |25.00 | |4 | Use1 | 5.00 | WithDraw Table: |ID|UserName|Amount| |2 | Use2 | 5.00 | |1 | Use1 |100.00| |4 | Use1 | 5.00 | |3 | Use2 |25.00 | So then the result would output: |OverWithdrawers| | Use2 | Is this possible (I sure don't know how to do it)? • Java EE Module Dependencies in web project?

  Hey guys, I have this webprojec to which I have to add a jar from another EJB project. Normally I'd right-click the webproject and go to properties - Java EE Module Dependencies. I don't know if it is because I upgraded eclipse, or i'm doing something wrong, but I just can't find the "Java EE Module Dependencies" in the properties window. Both projects are linked with the same EAR so the EJB jar file shuld be there! Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or some other way I could attach the EJB's JAR file? I'm only allowed to work with eclipse, so netbeans is not an option. Thanks! EDIT: basically, this is what I want to do, but that specific panel won't show up...

• system-wide hook for 64-bit operating systems

  Hey everybody I want to perform a system-wide hook (using SetWindowHook) on a 64bit operating system. I know that 64bit processes (= proc64) can load only 64bit dlls (= dll64) and 32bit processes (= proc32) can load only 32bit dlls (= dll32). Currently I am planning to call SetWindowHook twice, once with dll32 and once with dll64, expecting that proc64s will load dll64 and proc32s will load dll32 (while dll32 for proc64s and dll64 for proc32s will fail). Is that the correct way to do that, or is there a "more correct" way to do that? Thanks! :-)

• JSON - Php/SQL iPhone APP Questions/Help

  Hey group, first time posting here I am somewhat new to the JSON/PHP/mySQL world, but been around iPhone designing for the past few years, though this topic of conversation is a while new area I am entering. I have done JSON iPhone examples that allow me to create a UITableView and display the JSON data into the TableViewCells (CustomCells) and displays the data (NSDictionary)into UILabels The problem I am having now, is that I want an APP that displays this information from the JSON into just a couple of UILabel's on a regular UIViewController and not a UITableView any help would greatly be appreciated, the example I used and learned for JSON and UITABLE was from http://tempered.mobi/%20 I used that example from my app, but incorporated a few other things like CUSTOM cells however now when the USER selects the specific CELL I want it to load specific data from another JSON file, and cannot get it to load in a UILabel or UITextView in a UIViewController HELP :-)

• css position question: layers with z-index?

  hey guys, i have a probably rather simpel problem: my website has two layers: 1) a drag&drop navigation on top which should be positioned absolute, so scrolling doesn't affect the bars. 2) a content area in the back behind the navigation which should be scrollable. you can see what i mean right here: http://jsfiddle.net/Pghqv/ however now, i cannot click links in my content-area in the back. any ideas or solutions how i can still have the same position result and the links in the back are working? thank you very much.

• headers already sent displays after moving files from one server to another

  hey there! I have a project running on dreamhost hosting and it's working fine, but since DH has been getting really slow I'm moving the project to my new dedicated server. The thing is that after I move all of my file over to the new dedicated (ubuntu 8.4) I get see warnings all over the place telling me that the headers had been already sent. The first thing I tried was moving the files via FTP: download to my machine, upload to server - Didn't worked Second try was tar.gz the folder on the first server and untar it on the new one, didn't worked either I tried chaing enconding to ANSI and they start working, however most of my files contain accents so ANSI is not an option for all my files i need UTF8 Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm sure it must be some sort of config

• New to VS.net (VB.net) 2008. Windows 7 aero glass stuff.

  Hey all, i have been using VB.net 2008 for a few months and i have a question. I compiled my program and ran it in a VM running windows 7. However, the progress bar looks like it does in XP. It doesn't have that cool look to it like I've seen in many other programs running in windows 7. I have downloaded the 3.5 .net framework with sp1 and also the sdk for windows 7 (1.4+ gb dvd) but i still see nothing. Is there a check-box i am missing in VS 2008 to enable these types of features? Maybe some type of code i need to place in the program? Thanks! David

  Hey Recently I'm interested in post's structure of worpress . They use a table named (wp_posts) and in this table they saved 3 related fields such as : post_title post_name guid It's clear that they save title of each story in post_title field , and slugs in post_name , and full url of a post in guild filed . But where the hell, they rewrite these urls in way it appears in browsers : http://localhost/wordpress/about/ There is no htaccess rules for this ! I checked rewrite.php and didn't understand an inch ?! If you were me , and u need to create such pages , what steps you would take !?

  Hey, I got a user table containing 15+ million records and while doing the registration function i wish to check whether the username already exist. I did indexing for username column and when i run the query "select count(uid) from users where username='webdev'" ,. hmmm, its keep on loading blank screen finally hanged up. I'm doing this in my localhost with php 5 & mysql 5. So suggest me some technique to handle this situation. Is that mongodb is good alternative for handling this process in our local machine?   Hey guys, I am following the tutorial on PHP with MySQL. In that tutorial ebook, they recommend us to use commands to set password for the MySQL. The command goes something like this, "mysqladmin -u root -p status" Now, I am using Windows XP and whenever I enter the command, the dos screen flashes and terminates. I am unable to note down the results, so the question: is there any way to stop command prompt from terminating on Windows machine? Looking forward to hear from you guys, thank you!

  Hey! I'm creating a Silverlight 4 Out Of Browser application. I have my MainPage that will be the "central" application. I want to be able to display another Control next to the MainPage, by using a Popup and I want it to be displayed right next to the MainPage. How can I get the coordinates of the upper right corner of the MainPage at each moment? (Beware that this MainPage can be moved all over the screen and hence I will need to dynamically get the corner coordinates, in order to display my popup right next to the main window).   Hey guys, I'm trying to validate a model object outside of the context of ModelState within a controller, I currently have a parser that creates model objects from an excel file and I want to be able to report how many entries were added to the database and how many failed, is there a way to validate a model object on its data annotations outside of model binding? I'm looking for something similar to the rails model method of model.valid? or a way for me to implement that myself. My current solution is just manually checking if a few key fields are present but this duplicates requirements between my model class and its metadata, there has to be a better way to hook into the model validation checking that is done by mvc 2. Thanks
