• php mysql search in 2 columns in 2 tables.

  Hey, I have two tables in one DB, one called Cottages and one called Hotels. In both tables they have the same named fields. I basically have a search bar that i want it to search in both of the fields in both of the tables. (the two fields being called "Name" and "Location" SO far I have $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Cottages WHERE Name LIKE '%$term%' or Location LIKE '%$term%' LIMIT 0, 30"); But this only searches the Cottages table, how can I make it search both the cottages and hotel tables? • Most efficent way to limit rows returns from union query- TSQL

  Hey guys...I have a simple stored proc with two queries joined with a union select name as 'result' from product where... union select productNum as 'result' from product where... I want to limit this to the TOP 10 results... if i put TOP 10 in each seperate query I get 20 results total. What is the most efficient way to limit total results to 10? I dont want to do TOP 5 in each because I may end up in a situation where I have something like 7 "names" and 3 "productsNumbers"

• How to generilize view?

  Hey guys, I'm in the process of designing a set of views that use the same model in my app, the difference is that some views will differ in Read Only and Modifiable fields. So for example for view A I want to be able to modify A.One but no A.Two properties and for view B I want to have B.One and B.Two as modifiable fields. I was thinking in having a map that will hold this information and iterate both the modifiable and non-modifiable lists in a generic view, but I was thinking that maybe I can get feedback from you guys. What do you think?

• Zend autloading different namespaces from the same directory?

  Hey guys, I have a models directory in my project, and I would like to save/files classes there with different namespaces. Example: models/User.php with classname Model_User models/Table_User.php with classname Model_Table_User For the first namespace I have this in bootstrap.php $resourceLoader->addResourceTypes(array( 'model' => array( 'namespace' => 'Model', 'path' => 'models' ) )); I can't figure out how to add the second namespace so it detects files starting with Table_ Any ideas? For now I've added a second directory named 'tables' but it's getting confusing because I have each model name twice (once in the models diretory and once in the tables directory)

• Python extension building with boost

  Hey guys I'm fairly new to boost c/c++ library. I downloaded boost library and build the library. I created a very simple python library in c++ using boost interface (actually it is example code given in the documentation). I built it into a dll file. In the documentation it reads that this dll is exposed to python and they just show the import function in python and include the created library. I don't understand how to expose that dll to python and load the library inside in tradition ('import') manner. In case if you wanna look at the code then here it is: #include <boost/python.hpp> char const* greet() { return "hello, world"; } BOOST_PYTHON_MODULE(hello_ext) { using namespace boost::python; def("greet", greet); } Please help I really want to build applications with c/c++ and python.   Hey Guys, I have the following html: HTML markup <ul id="test"> <li><a href="http://www.yahoo.com">yahoo</a></li> <li><a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a></li> </ul> And some JS code: JQuery/JavaScript Code $('ul#test').each(function() { var select=$(document.createElement('select')).insertBefore($(this).hide()); $('>li a', this).each(function() { option=$(document.createElement('option')).appendTo(select).val(this.href).html($(this).html()); }); }); This code produces a select dropdown menu, exactly what I want, but my question is how do I go to the url on select? So if I click yahoo, it brings me to yahoo.com? Thanks for your help!

Thanks :) Its also defiantly at least connecting to the website as my firewall asked me if the Terminal was aloud to access it. At the moment not only is it displaying no errors its actually letting anything through and saving it.

  Hey, I have a problem with sorting NSTableColumn contents. In my NSTableView there are three columns: File, Size, Path. The contents are stored in NSMutableArray. Each object in this array is a NSDictionary containing three keys: file, size and path - value for each is a NSString. In Interface Builder, in each Table Column's attributes I can choose sorting options: Selector: IB entered "compare:" which I think is ok, because I compare NSStrings. Sort Key - and that's the problem I think - I don't know what to enter here. Any clues? If you've got questions about my code, please ask.

  Hey guys, I was wondering what happens when a program processes an if-structure with multiple conditions. I have an idea, but i'm not sure about it. I'll give an example : List<string> myTestList = null; if (myTestList != null && myTestList.Count > 0) { //process } The list is null. When processing the if, will it go from left to right exiting the if as soon as one condition is false? I've tried it and seems to throw no errors, so i assume the above explains it, but i'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

  Hey Guys, I have a contoller that renders 3 different views. But I also have a common part (div) for every view. I thought that I can create an UserControl with own controller and include that control on my views (New controller and view as controll). How should I use that UserControl? Should it be a partial view? Or different approach - can I have multiple partial views on one page? I've been searching the web for the last view days and haven't found working solution that suits me. Also I want to use Strongly Typed views/data. Cheers

  Hey all, quick question. My end goal is to start developing apps for the iPhone but my current skillset is pretty limited. I'm wondering how far back I should go back and where I should start as far as becoming familiar with coding before the iPhone SDK course on Lynda.com isn't something that makes my eyes glaze over. My experience: I taught myself html from the html for dummies book maybe 10 years ago, I've taken a dreamweaver class and built a few sites with it, and I've customized a self hosted Wordpress blog by playing with the php code. Any tips on where I should start if I want to head down the road toward developing for the iPhone? Thanks!

  Hey guys, I'd like to simulate a flag in an xslt script. The idea is for template foo to set a flag (or a counter variable, or anything), so that it can be accessed from template bar. Bar isn't called from foo, but from a common parent template (otherwise I would pass a parameter to it). What I am trying to do is set up a database that will store time information for bus routes. So basically I have different routes with stops for each route and then a list of times that the bus arrives at each stop. Here is an example of a table of times from their website: Link.   Hey guys, I am new to android programming and i am trying to make an app that will interface with a website i have. It is a movie website with all of its information stored in SQL database. I know how to write the requests and queries in .asp but dont know how to get information from the database in my app. I want the user to be able to enter a movie title, and through a couple of stored procedures that are in my SQL database, return the info on that movie(actor, budget, genre....). I would like to have little info stored on the device, have all of the queries being sent to my SQL server and just have the info being returned.   One of the main things I wanted to achieve in my experimental programming language was: When errors occur (Syntax, Name, Type, etc.) keep the program running, no matter how serious or devastating it is. I know that this is probably very bad, but I just wanted something that doesn't kill itself on every error - I find it interesting what happens when a serious error occurs but the program continues. Does this "paradigm" have a name? I mean expect for How bad is it to do the above? Are there programs in use out there that just follow: "Hey, this is a fatal, unexpected error - but you know what? I don't care!"?

Maybe I am getting the idea of a subclass wrong, but I have a Person model and it has an attrib called "age" so Person.first.age #=> '20' Now I want to have a model that's basically persons 55 or older so I know I can have a class like this: class Senior < Person end But how can I "pre-filter" the Senior class so that every object belonging to that class has age = 55?   hey guys, for developement reasons (working with facebook-connect) i put the connect iframe in an iframe. on that way i am able to work on the connect-thing independent of my ip and don't have to develop on the live-server. the iframe holding the connect-button iframe is on my server, accessing the same db-server as the developer version (developer version is running on localhsot). as far as good ... BUT how can i let the parent site know, that the user has connected, so that i get his profile-picture displayd as reaction to this? how can i react in generally on an action/event/JS in an iframe? is there a way? can the iframe post data to the parent site? like a time-stamp and fb_userid? if the iframe stuff doesn't work ... i thougt of saving the ip to the fb_userid (to db) and check matches ... but i don't like this idea.

• iphone uiwebview / form

  Hey All, Okay, so I have an iphone app that presents the user with a UIWebview of an html page with a form I created. The form has standard stuff like a message box and dropdown boxes. Once the user fills out the form and clicks submit, it saves the information as nsstrings in my program. Okay, no problem there. That all works fine. However, I also wanna be able to edit this form as well. Once I save all this information the user selected in the form (as strings), is there a way to put it back into an html form using an uiwebview so a user of the app can edit the info later on?? I apologize in advance if I didn't give enough info.
