    Hi, How can I improve RDP performance? I'm on an 8mb line, and I have disabled all the fancy features like visual styles. One page said if I set a low speed, that too will increase performance. Is there any proof in this? Also, there was an ad here about an application/technology which can increase RDP performance by x20. Has anyone used this? Thanks

  • Not being able to `make` in terminal on Mac OS X 10.7

    Hi so i am trying to install the commands wget and with-readline for use with Mac OS X's terminal. The configuration seems to work fine for both even though i am required to specify for the first one, host= i686-apple. When i get to the make part of the installation, the output is as follows.     The transaction ID for DNS queries can take values from 1 to 65,536 and my computer pseudorandomly chooses one for each DNS request. If I sents 1,024 false replies per request, how many requests should I trigger to compromise the DNS cache with probability 99%? or as close tot hat as I can get. Thanks I'm getting a result of .6 requests which doesn't seem right to me. Feel as though it should be around 30

    I am facing a big problem since there are many msbuild.exe files in .Netframework and winsxs folders and I don't know if it is required to set all of them as trusted in the antivirus. The path changes server to server and hence it makes life harder! If it matters to you, I am using Kaspersky endpoint security 10. When defining trusted application, as far as I know, you must point exactly to the executable with hard-coded path. Thanks

    We have several applications that run in AppHarbor that we are bringing in-house. Our worker processes for AppHarbor are developed as windows console applications. What is the best way to host these console application in house? Of course I can just install and run them but I am hoping for a more managed way to host them. I want them to restart if they fail, ability to run multiple applications. These are things that were managed by AppHarbor. Thanks

  • Taking a screencast in Backtrack 4

    I'm working on a tutorial using Backtrack 4 Live USB, and I would like to take a screencast of what I'm doing (not just screenshots) So far I have tried these application with limited success: -recordmydesktop -xvidcap -wink -istanbul -vlc -vnc2flv Each time I try the resulting files are generally choppy (at best 1 frame per second) and most don't even end up with a clear view of the screen each time. If anyone has suggestions for the screencast I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Bryan

    has anyone ever run into a dirty cache issue with a Equallogic SAN. Even after replacement of the controller cards in the Equallogic Storage Array fails offline with a dirty cache.   • Excluding specific file types from a security audit in windows server 2008

    Hi, I am looking for a way to exclude specific file types from being logged in the security audits. I have a folder being audited for deletion events and the majority of logged events are .tmp files (such as a temp Word file that is automatically deleted when the app is closed) which I do not care about.   • Socket error sendig data from loftware to zebra zm400

    I have a problem with my Zebra zm 400. I print a label from loftware, and in random times comes the label not out from the printer. When this issue comes, then I can't ping my printer or I can't achive the webpage of the printer. Only I need to disconnect the UTP cable from te Zebra. and after this disconnect work the printer fine. And in variale intervals come this problem again! Thanks and regards, Mike

    I'm installing Debian using the Live CD with GNOME and the non-free packages. The internet works just fine when using the live CD, but when you try to open the installer and select a network, it gives me the error of "Failure of key exchange and association". I've put everything in right, and tried multiple times. However, it never works. Am I just going to have to use ethernet to install? Thanks, people.

    Hi, I installed Linux Mint in VMware, and I do not understand how to enable networking. My VMware settings use a bridged connection. My other linux distros run fine in vmware - networking works for them. But Linux Mint is the only one that isn't obtaining an ip address. Furthermore, I do not see an option in the administrative menu of Mint to enable networking... Please help. Thanks, Igor

    Is there any other location restricting a user from accessing their emails from their phone using active sync, besides on a domain controller -active directory-user properties - account - logon hours. The user's logon hours are allowed all the time. To add to the mystery the user is an admin on the domain.(He seems not to be able to get emails from 7:00pm to 8:00pm) Its a Windows 2003 Server environment. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

    I had to reinstall Windwos and my old WIndows directory is now called Windows.000 I tried to resinatll my s/w applications, but one told me it has been insatlled on the max number of PCs, even though this was the first I ever sinsatlled it on. I need the same behavior that produces M-Daemon tools when you mount an .iso File but with a remote directory.
