  I'm looking for just a simple ListBox with build-in Drag & Drop. I think that Silverlite 4 Toolkit has something like that. The BoxList should be able to: reorder by draging & droping items drag item from one BoxList to another display preview (ghost version) of dragged item show drop location (like a line between items where the dragged will be inserted) I hope there is some solution from microsoft (in toolkit for example), but if not I all be happy with any working solution. For example I wander what control was used in DataGrid column headers reordering (by draging and droping them) implementation. Thank you for any suggestions

I have a user control which has a textbox in it and a getValue() method that returns the value of the textbox. After user selects the related item I load the control and add to a panel using loadControl method. User enters some text.   I have created a table in my Ruby on Rails application that I am building called Tags. It is a blog application so I allow the user to associate tags with a post and do this through a :posts, :has_many = tags and Tag belongs_to :post association. Now that I have my Tags table I am trying to see how I would render the view such that it displays the tag and tag count. (it should be noted that I am trying to render this in the /views/posts/index.html.erb file). For instance, if there are 10 entries in the Tag table for tag_name Sports. How can I display Sports (10) in the view. I am not looking to do this for a specific tag but rather, somehow search the table, combine like tags and display a list of all tags with counts next to them. (I really want these to be a link to a list of posts that contain that tag but I learned early on only to ask one question at a time). Hope that makes sense.

  Hi there! I've also posted this on the macnn forums, but thought I may get a better response here. I was hoping to find some help with using applescript (something I have never tried before, though I have a good knowledge of php etc) I need to create an applescript that will copy specified files from one folder to a newly created folder. These files need to be specified in the applescript. so something like: start fileToBeMoved = "Desktop/Test Folder 1/test.doc" newfoldername = "Test Folder 2" make newfolder and name it 'newfoldername' copy 'fileToBeMoved' to 'newfolder' end I'm so sorry for the rubbish description! • Best choice for off-site backup: dd vs tar

  I have two 1TB single-partition hard disks configured as RAID1, of which I would like to make an off-site backup on a third disk, which I am still to buy. The idea is to store the backup at a relative's house, considerably far away from my place, in the hope that all the information will be safe in the case of a global thermonuclear apocalypse. Of course, this backup would be well encrypted. What I still have to decide is whether I am going to simply tar the entire partition or, instead, use dd to create an image of the disks. Is there any non-trivial difference between these two approaches that I could be overlooking? This off-site backup would be updated no more than two or three times a year, in the best of the cases, so performance should not be a factor to be pondered at all. What, and why, would you use if you were me? dd, tar, or a third option?

  Hi Is it possible to have to make a html for helper in asp.net mvc 2.0 have a default value of "empty string" Like if I do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName) would render to <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="Jim" /> Now I don't want the textbox to display jim. I want it to display nothing. <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="" /> I tried to do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName, new { @value = " "}) but that seems to do nothing. So how can I do this. I hope you can do something like this otherwise I think these new helpers have a great flaw since now I need to use like javascript to remove them since I hardly ever want a default value in the textbox especially when I have a label right beside the textbox saying what it is.

• IE 6 dropdown selection area too narrow

  Hi, I have a dropdown menu with the width set to 142px however the selection area when you drop down the menu needs to be larger as it has text that exceeds this width. Firefox (and most modern browsers) is clever and extends the selection area to fit in this text. However IE 6 and unchecked newer versions of IE do not show this text and keep the selection area the same width as the dropdown unclicked. The problem lies here, how can I get IE to extend the selection area where you click the selection you want without increasing the width of the dropdown area with out the dropdown selection showing.   Hi there guys! Hope your all enjoying your hollydays. Ive run into a pretty funny problem when trying to insert rows into a really really simple database table. The basic idea is pretty simple. The user selects one/multiple users in a multiselect which are supposed to be added to a group. This piece of code will insert a row into the user_group_relationships table, but the users id always @group = Group.find(params[:group_id]) params[:newMember][:users].each do |uid| # For debugging purposes. puts 'Uid:'+uid @rel = @group.user_group_relationships.build( :user_id => uid.to_i ) @rel.save end The user id always gets inserted as null even though it is clearly there. You can see the uid in this example is 5, so it should work. Uid:5 ... SQL (0.3ms) INSERT INTO "user_group_relationships" ("created_at", "group_id", "updated_at", "user_id") VALUES ('2010-12-27 14:03:24.331303', 2, '2010-12-27 14:03:24.331303', NULL) Any ideas why this fails?

So i'm thinking to buy a new notebook. For your experience, which type of processor i can buy ? I found, here in italy, acer notebook between 350-500 euros with t4400 and 2-3 gb ram. Is it enough to have a good "working experience" with vs (with good i intend not to wait 10-20 seconds when i switch from asp.net design to asp.net source code) ? Any answer is appreciated

• created modified function (default) is not working in Cakephp 1.2 version

  I created an application and all the db tables have 'created,modified' fields that filled automatically by Cakephp's Default Functionality. And i put the Field Type is created datetime NULL, modified datetime NULL, like. But it doesn't work. The data where shows 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Format. The cakephp version is 1.2 , so i put the datetime NULL option ,also i removed the temp,cache files in Model. I need to save the correct date & time format for those 2 fields. If there is any problem with XAMPP version (I use the latest version of XAMPP,1.7.7 PHP: 5.3.8 & mysql v 5.5.16 ) I hope that all are identifies my Issue. Please help me with correct solution. • Embedded Google Earth Plug-Ins no longer working

I just noticed that none of my website's Google Earth embedded plug-in's work anymore (in Safari, Chrome or Firefox)  All you can see now is blank space and small text that says "Information is temporarily unavailable." • conditional while loop in php?

  I'm pretty sure there's an obvious answer for this-- hoping someone can help me-- I need to do a PHP while loop, but only if a variable is true. And I can't really put the while loop in an "if" statement, which seems like the obvious thing to do, since the code block is huge and it would be ugly and confusing. Do I need to break out the code in the loop into a function, or is there an easier way to deal with this? Here's the basic idea: if(condition){ while(another_condition){ //huge block of code loops many times } } else { // huge block of code runs once } I want the huge block of code to execute regardless of the state of the condition variable-- but only to execute once if condition is false, and execute for as long as another_condition is true if condition is true. Hope that's clear! The following code doesn't work, but gives an idea of what I want to accomplish: if(condition){ while(another_condition){ } // huge block of code if (condition){ } } // closes the while loop-- obviously throws an error though! thanks in advance.

• Using a JSON web service from a Java client application

  I am developing a client-side Java application that has a bit of functionality that requires getting data from some web services that transmit in JSON (some RESTful, some not). No JavaScript, no web browser, just a plain JAR file that will run locally with Swing for the GUI. This is not a new or unique problem; surely there must be some open source libraries out there that will handle the JSON data transmission over HTTP. I've already found some that will parse JSON, but I'm having trouble finding any that will handle the HTTP communication to consume the JSON web service. So far I've found Apache Axis2 apparently which might have at least part of the solution, but I don't see enough documentation for it to know if it will do what I need, or how to use it. Maybe part of the problem is that I don't have experience with web services so I'm not able to know a solution when I see it. I hope some of you can point me in the right direction. Examples would be helpful.

  Hi, Hope u people will be fine. Here is my basic code: http://jsfiddle.net/kr9pY/7/ in this demo you can see when we hover on div with id="container", a div with class="nav" fades in. But the problem is that after doing this if i hover on div with class="nav" the div fades out and in again, and if i mover cursor slightly within .nav div, it repeats this behavior repeatedly. I don't want to this behaviour when we hover on .nav div or mover cursor within this div. Thank, and sorry for my bad english.
