• How to boot linux direct to application on console with no login

  I have a need to start an application on bootup on the linux console and I do not have a need for any type of login or security. I do not need any ALT-F1,F2,etc virtual consoles but I would like to allow SSH access via the network port for debugging, loading, etc. The application is a SDL graphics program running with fbcon as the SDL_VIDEODRIVER if that matters. I'm currently using Fedora 10 and 12 but any distro that supports SDL using the fbcon framebuffer would be acceptable.

Questions (bear with me if my question is wrong) 1) Is it possible to use Visual Studio (2008 with SP1) to debug the remote application (i.e already in production)?.What are the tools do i need to use in order to keep track the things in case something went wrong? 2) Simply looking into Log file ,will solve the issues? 3) After having done with enhancements,is it possible to directly deploy the DLLs into production server.Won't it affect the running application? Since GCC includes an Ada front end, and it can emit ARM, and devKitPro is based on GCC, is it possible to use Ada instead of C/C++ for writing code on the DS? Edit: It seems that the target that devKitARM uses is arm-eabi.

  Hello, I am trying to embedd two slideshows into my flash file. I already managed to integrate one, but I can't integrate another since my knowledge of actionscript is very limited.   I have a list of strings which are candidates for Enumerations values. They are Don't send diffs 500 lines 1000 lines 5000 lines Send entire diff The problem is that spaces, special characters are not a part of identifiers and even cannot start with a number, so I would be sanitizing these values to only chars, numbers and _ To keep the original values I thought of putting these strings in the DescriptionAttribute, such that the final Enum should look like public enum DiffBehvaiour { [Description("Don't send diffs")] Dont_send_diffs, [Description("500 lines")] Diff_500_lines, [Description("1000 lines")] Diff_1000_lines, [Description("5000 lines")] Diff_5000_lines, [Description("Send entire diff")] Send_entire_diff } Then later using code I will retrieve the real string associated with the enumeration value, so that the correct string can be sent back the web service to get the correct resource. I want to know how to create the DescriptionAttribute using System.Reflection.Emit Basically the question is where and how to store the original string so that when the Enumeration value is chosen, the corresponding value can be retrieved. I am also interested in knowing how to access DescriptionAttribute when needed.

  Hi, I am writing my first wxWidgets application which aims to be cross-platform. The program uses dll file for plugins and in Windows, reads dll resource part for information regarding plugin name, author name etc. I have never used Unix or MacOS (little Linux though) and am wondering whether compiling binary for these other OSes will require changes to the code written for Windows. For instance, is there a DLL equivalent in Unix and MacOS? Are there any provisions of compiling resource strings and files into a such files? Thanks, Sanjeev

  I'm spec-ing the suitability of a microcontroller like PIC for an analog-to-digital application. This would be preferable to using external A/D chips. To do that, I've had to run through some computations, pulling the relevant parameters from the datasheets. I'm not sure I've got it right -- would appreciate a check! Here's the simplest example: PIC10F220 is the simplest possible PIC with an ADC. Runs at clock speed of 8MHz. Has an instruction cycle of 0.5us (4 clock steps per instruction) So: Taking Tacq = 6.06 us (acquisition time for ADC, assume chip temp. = 50*C) [datasheet p34] Taking Fosc = 8MHz (? clock speed) Taking divisor = 4 (4 clock steps per CPU instruction) This gives TAD = 0.5us (TAD = 1/(Fosc/divisor) ) Conversion time is 13*TAD [datasheet p31] This gives conversion time 6.5us ADC duration is then 12.56 us [? Tacq + 13*TAD] Assuming at least 2 instructions for load/store: This is another 1 us [0.5 us per instruction] Which would give max sampling rate of 73.7 ksps (1/13.56) Supposing 8 more instructions for real-time processing: This is another 4 us Thus, total ADC/handling time = 17.56us (12.56us + 1us + 4us) So expected upper sampling rate is 56.9 ksps. Nyquist frequency for this sampling rate is therefore 28 kHz. If this is right, it suggests the (theoretical) performance suitability of this chip's A/D is for signals that are bandlimited to 28 kHz. Is this a correct interpretation of the information given in the data sheet? Any pointers would be much appreciated! AKE

  Hi, I have a asp.net application in order to start/stop applications and ports of Biztalk server 2006 r2. I have used "Microsoft.Biztalk.explorerom.dll (C:/Program Files/Biztalk Server 2006/Developer tool) " to achieve this. This is working fine on development machine since biz talk server is installed on local machine. But in the production environment (asp.net web server ,windows 2003 and iis 6.0)...this give System.nullreferenceexception (object reference not set..) at BtsCatalogExplorer explorer = (BtsCatalogExplorer)myGroup.CreateInstance(typeof(BtsCatalogExplorer)) my biztalk server and sql server are on two different box. In my setup (asp.net web application)..adding Microsoft.Biztalk.explorerom.dll and Microsoft.Biztalk.Applicationdeployment.engine.dll to GAC. But still no luck. Do i need to install biz talk server on my local machine even though I am connecting to different biz talk server?? And help is appreciated...

• System.Net.WebProxy in .NET Client

  I don't yet have a good understanding of how the network is set up at my current client, but here is my issue. The vendor has a normal URL, but it might be a leased line. I have a .NET program that calls an external .asmx service. If I go to IE, Connections, LAN Settings, and uncheck "Automatic detect settings" and uncheck "Use Automatic Configuration Sript", then the .NET program runs and access the web service fine. But then, to access internet again from the browser, I have to re-check the two boxes, and so on throughout the day while we are testing and browsing. I'm hoping to put some code like this in the .NET program to avoid us having to constantly change: if (chkUseProxy.Checked) { myclient.Proxy = new System.Net.WebProxy(""); } I tried null and empty string and so far not able to connect without errors. Is this possible, and if so, what might be the correct parms for the constructor? Or are there other objects or properties that would need to be set? Thanks, Neal Walters

(EDITED NOTE: The PIC10F220 in the example below was selected ONLY to walk through a simple example to check that I'm interpreting Tacq, Fosc, TAD, and divisor correctly in working through this sort of Nyquist analysis. The actual chips I'm considering for the design are the dsPIC33FJ128MC804 (with 16b A/D) or dsPIC30F3014 (with 12b A/D).) A simple example: PIC10F220 is the simplest possible PIC with an ADC Runs at clock speed of 8MHz. • Missing output when running system command in perl/cgi file

However, when I run on web server, the output is ++++++ ++++++ So $VAR is missing when passing in the web interface/browser. I know maybe the problem is $VAR is very long string. But anyway, is there anyway to solve this problem except writing the output to a file then retrieve it from browser? Thanks if you are interested in my question.

  I've been testing Hudson for a few days now and for PHP projects it seems ok; What I need though is a system that will allow me to publish an SVN tag to an FTP folder without adding a pile of rubbish on the end; hudson gets overexcited and adds a pile of folders to the export. Are their any other decent systems; it needs to be simple to use as this will eventually fall under the control of 'admins' in order to meet sox compliance (aka the man with the gun cant pull the trigger). Basic Requirements: Must be free and downloadable to a server (FTP's internal only here) Needs to be able to interact with SVN Needs to be able to publish to FTP Needs matrix login permissions (or AD if its something that can go on IIS) Needs to be auditable (logging) Tell me if im not being clear enough here; thanks.   I am trying to do a batch build of a project using IAR tools. The processor is a CC2530, and it builds fine in the IDE. I have followed the documentation for batch build (Project/Batch Build) and created a .cspy file that is suppose to be my batch file, but in the comments in that file it indicates that I need a debug file (.ubrof) to execute with it. I can't find a .ubrof file and I have searched the whole project directory structure. Also, I want my batch build to build a production version without the debugging information. Where do I get a .ubrof file? How do I do a production batch build using IAR tools?

• Custom flash mp3 player stopping in the middle of playing audio on windows nt ie6 system

  We have used a custom MP3 flash player for a lot of years on our website without any issues, but recently, a client of ours is reporting that the audio is playing for several seconds and then stopping. When they refresh the page or click play in the player again the audio plays fine. We are puzzled as to what could be causing this issue after this running successfully for our clients for so many years. The client system is Windows NT running IE6. Does anyone have any idea what could cause the audio to behave this way? Could audio drivers or the version of flash cause problems? We do not have flash programmers on our team so we are not even sure where to start looking within the flash code of the player. Any ideas?
