  • How to get headers into framework in Xcode?

    - by john146
    I'm trying to build a framework for MacOS in Xcode 3. It looks like it's building everything except the Headers directory according to the layout listed in the Apple documentation. I can't find anything that tells me what settings to use to get the build process to copy the headers into Headers directory in the framework, or alternately where I have to put those files. Any help? Thanks.

  • iPhone UIView element similar to the lock screen

    - by Travis
    Does anyone know if there is an open source project for an UIView element that acts in a similar way to the lock screen for the iPhone. I am working on an app that has some sensitive data, and I want to add another layer of comfort for users, to be able to setup a 4 digit pin number on the app. I've seen apps like LoseIt and Weightbot that have similar functionality. There isn't any element for this in the UI Library from what I've been able to find, and was hoping some kind soul might have open sourced something similar to this. Thanks in advance!!!

  • Radiobutton in iphone

    - by Harita
    hi, i am using radio button image (empty circle) in button to answer the question from 3 options, and the 3 options are radio button's. i have created 3 uibuttons programmatically in tableview delegate method cellforrowatindexpath. i need when one button is selected(with filled circle image) other one if selected before gets unselected. i am using below code in button clicked method. static int _row; -(IBAction) optionClicked:(id)sender { UIButton *btn = (UIButton)sender; _row = btn.tag; if (btn.tag == 0) { if(btn1On) { [btnrad1 setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"unfilled.png"]forState:UIControlStateNormal]; btn1On=FALSE; } else { [btnrad1 setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"filled.png"]forState:UIControlStateNormal]; btn1On = TRUE; btn2On = FALSE; btn3On = FALSE; } } else if (btn.tag == 1) { if(btn2On) { [btnrad2 setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"unfilled.png"]forState:UIControlStateNormal]; btn2On=FALSE; } else { [btnrad2 setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"filled.png"]forState:UIControlStateNormal]; btn2On = TRUE; btn1On = FALSE; btn3On = FALSE; } } else if (btn.tag == 2) { if(btn3On) { [btnrad3 setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"unfilled.png"]forState:UIControlStateNormal]; btn3On=FALSE; } else { [btnrad3 setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"filled.png"]forState:UIControlStateNormal]; btn3On = TRUE; btn1On = FALSE; btn2On = FALSE; } } else { NSLog(@"Error"); } } above code is doing selection of button in another row. like i am selecting 1st option in 1st row but its is selecting 2nd row button. i don't know how to use _row to check for every cell of table view.

  • Why does SQLite not bring back any results from my database

    - by tigermain
    This is my first SQLite based iPhone app and I am trying to get it to read a menu hierarchy from my database. The database appears to be registered fine as the compiled statement doesnt error (tried putting in valid table name to test) but for some reason sqlite3_step(compiledStmt) doesnt ever equal SQLITE_ROW as if to suggest there is no data in there; which there is. sqlite3 *database; menu = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; if (sqlite3_open([databasePath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { const char *sqlStmt = "SELECT * FROM Menu"; sqlite3_stmt *compiledStmt; if (sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sqlStmt, -1, &compiledStmt, NULL) == SQLITE_OK) { while (sqlite3_step(compiledStmt) == SQLITE_ROW) { NSString *aTitle = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStmt, 1)]; MenuItem *menuItem = [[MenuItem alloc] init]; menuItem.title = aTitle; [menu addObject:menuItem]; [menuItem release]; } } else { NSLog(@"There is an error with the SQL Statement"); } sqlite3_finalize(compiledStmt); } sqlite3_close(database);

  • Better product to develop for, iPad or Android based tablet in a purely business related application

    - by Caylem
    Hey guys Just wondering what you'd suggest as the best platform for developing a business application for a tablet device. The application needs to be multitouch, have access to a maps API, a database on the device. It will not be going on sale in the app store or Androids market, it is purely for specific business task and not for the general consumer. Obviously the options seem to be iPhone OS and the iPad or Android and an Android tablet device. The form factor for the end product requires something in the region of 8 inch+ screen and enough processing power to provide a good experience for the end user. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • How to add UIview over a ViewController and its NavigationController

    - by Roxee Man
    I have a ViewController with a NavigationController and I want to add a translucent UIView with some Buttons over the ViewController when I press a ViewController button, the problem is that I can not put the UIView over the NavigationBar. How can I solve this? This is my code ( Very simple) -(void)setOpacityView { opacityVw = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds]; opacityVw.backgroundColor = [[UIColor alloc] initWithRed:0.0 green:0.0 blue:0.0 alpha:0.8]; WPCustomButton *closeBtn = [[WPCustomButton alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(230, 10, 80, 20)]; [closeBtn setTitle:@"Close X" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [closeBtn setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]]; [closeBtn setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [closeBtn addTarget:self action:@selector(closeView) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [opacityVw addSubview:closeBtn]; } // --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #pragma mark - Button methods -(void) closeView { [opacityVw removeFromSuperview]; } -(void)setProfileImage { [self setOpacityView]; [self.view addSubview:opacityVw]; }

  • CoreData: Same predicate (IN) returns different fetched results after a Save operation

    - by Jason Lee
    I have code below: NSArray *existedTasks = [[TaskBizDB sharedInstance] fetchTasksWatchedByMeOfProject:projectId]; [context save:&error]; existedTasks = [[TaskBizDB sharedInstance] fetchTasksWatchedByMeOfProject:projectId]; NSArray *allTasks = [[TaskBizDB sharedInstance] fetchTasksOfProject:projectId]; First line returns two objects; Second line save the context; Third line returns just one object, which is contained in the 'two objects' above; And the last line returns 6 objects, containing the 'two objects' returned at the first line. The fetch interface works like below: WXModel *model = [WXModel modelWithEntity:NSStringFromClass([WQPKTeamTask class])]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(%@ IN personWatchers) AND (projectId == %d)", currentLoginUser, projectId]; [model setPredicate:predicate]; NSArray *fetchedTasks = [model fetch]; if (fetchedTasks.count == 0) return nil; return fetchedTasks; What confused me is that, with the same fetch request, why return different results just after a save? Here comes more detail: The 'two objects' returned at the first line are: <WQPKTeamTask: 0x1b92fcc0> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0x1b9300f0 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p9> ; data: { projectId = 372004; taskId = 338001; personWatchers = ( "0xf0bf440 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WWPerson/p1>" ); } <WQPKTeamTask: 0xf3f6130> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0xf3cb8d0 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p11> ; data: { projectId = 372004; taskId = 340006; personWatchers = ( "0xf0bf440 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WWPerson/p1>" ); } And the only one object returned at third line is: <WQPKTeamTask: 0x1b92fcc0> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0x1b9300f0 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p9> ; data: { projectId = 372004; taskId = 338001; personWatchers = ( "0xf0bf440 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WWPerson/p1>" ); } Printing description of allTasks: <_PFArray 0xf30b9a0>( <WQPKTeamTask: 0xf3ab9d0> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0xf3cda40 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p6> ; data: <fault>), <WQPKTeamTask: 0xf315720> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0xf3c23a0 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p7> ; data: <fault>), <WQPKTeamTask: 0xf3a1ed0> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0xf3cda30 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p8> ; data: <fault>), <WQPKTeamTask: 0x1b92fcc0> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0x1b9300f0 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p9> ; data: { projectId = 372004; taskId = 338001; personWatchers = ( "0xf0bf440 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WWPerson/p1>" ); }), <WQPKTeamTask: 0xf325e50> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0xf343820 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p10> ; data: <fault>), <WQPKTeamTask: 0xf3f6130> (entity: WQPKTeamTask; id: 0xf3cb8d0 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WQPKTeamTask/p11> ; data: { projectId = 372004; taskId = 340006; personWatchers = ( "0xf0bf440 <x-coredata://CFFD3F8B-E613-4DE8-85AA-4D6DD08E88C5/WWPerson/p1>" ); }) ) UPDATE 1 If I call the same interface fetchTasksWatchedByMeOfProject: in: #pragma mark - NSFetchedResultsController Delegate - (void)controllerDidChangeContent:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller { I will get 'two objects' as well. UPDATE 2 I've tried: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(ANY personWatchers == %@) AND (projectId == %d)", currentLoginUser, projectId]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(ANY personWatchers.personId == %@) AND (projectId == %d)", currentLoginUserId, projectId]; Still the same result. UPDATE 3 I've checked the save:&error, error is nil.

  • Can I safely store UInt32 to NSUInteger?

    - by mystify
    In the header, it is defined like: #if __LP64__ || (TARGET_OS_EMBEDDED && !TARGET_OS_IPHONE) || TARGET_OS_WIN32 || NS_BUILD_32_LIKE_64 typedef long NSInteger; typedef unsigned long NSUInteger; #else typedef int NSInteger; typedef unsigned int NSUInteger; #endif So does an UInt32 fit without problems into an NSUInteger (an unsigned int)? Where's the difference between UInt32 and unsigned int? And I assume that an unsigned long is bigger than an unsigned int?

  • Adding Colours (Colors) Together like Paint (Blue + Yellow = Green, etc)

    - by glenstorey
    I'm making an iOS game using cocos2d libraries. Lets say you have two objects that have two separate colours - defined in RGB as Blue: 0,0,255 Yellow: 255,255,0 I want to add blue and yellow to make green. To over complicate things, let's say that the Blue object is bigger than the Yellow object (for the sake of argument let's say that the ratio is 2:1), I'm adding twice as much blue as yellow - how to I calculate this new (light green) colour correctly. I understand LAB * Color Space is useful for this sort of 'natural colour' kind of thing, but I'm not sure how to use it - especially in the context of a cocos2d object which (AFAIK) is limited to using RGB in its colour schemes. I'd really appreciate practical help on how to implement this. Thanks heaps!

  • How to check if something is stored in CoreData

    - by Terrel Gibson
    Hi I want to be able to tore some information in core data and but i am unsure of how to check if the file was saved properly. I tried using NSLog but it returns null when its called. I have a dictionary which has a uniqueID and a title which I want to save. I pass this in along with the context of the database. I then sort the database to check if it has any duplicates or not, if not then I add the file. +(VacationPhoto*) photoWithFlickrInfo: (NSDictionary*) flickrInfo inManagedObjectContext: (NSManagedObjectContext*) context{ //returns the dictionary NSLog(@"Photo To Store =%@", flickrInfo); VacationPhoto * photo = nil; NSFetchRequest *request = [NSFetchRequest fetchRequestWithEntityName:@"VacationPhoto"]; request.predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"uniqueID = %@", [flickrInfo objectForKey:FLICKR_PHOTO_ID]]; NSSortDescriptor * descriptor = [NSSortDescriptor sortDescriptorWithKey:@"title" ascending:YES]; request.sortDescriptors = [NSArray arrayWithObject:descriptor]; NSError *error = nil; NSArray *matches = [context executeFetchRequest:request error:&error]; if (!matches || [matches count] > 1) { // handle error } else if ( [matches count] == 0){ photo.title = [flickrInfo objectForKey:FLICKR_PHOTO_TITLE]; //Returns NULL when called NSLog(@"title = %@", photo.title); photo.uniqueID = [flickrInfo objectForKey:FLICKR_PHOTO_ID]; //Returns NULL when called NSLog(@"ID = %@", photo.uniqueID); } else { //If photo already exists this is called photo = [matches lastObject]; } return photo; }

  • iPhone: One Object, One Thread

    - by GingerBreadMane
    On the iPhone, I would like to do some operations on an image in a separate thread. Rather than dealing with semiphores, locking, etc., I'd like to use the 'One Object, One Thread' method of safely writing this concurrent operation. I'm not sure what is the correct way to copy my object into a new thread so that the object is not accessed in the main thread. Do I use the 'copy' method? If so, do I do this before the thread or inside the thread? ... -(void)someMethod{ UIImage *myImage; [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(getRotatedImage:) toTarget:self withObject:myImage]; } -(void)getRotatedImage:(UIImage *)image{ ... ... UIImage *copiedImage = [image copy]; ... ... }

  • Memory efficient collection class

    - by Joe
    I'm building an array of dictionaries (called keys) in my iphone application to hold the section names and row counts for a tableview. the code looks like this: [self.results removeAllObjects]; [self.keys removeAllObjects]; NSUInteger i,j = 0; NSString *key = [NSString string]; NSString *prevKey = [NSString string]; if ([self.allResults count] > 0) { prevKey = [NSString stringWithString:[[[self.allResults objectAtIndex:0] valueForKey:@"name"] substringToIndex:1]]; for (NSDictionary *theDict in self.allResults) { key = [NSString stringWithString:[[theDict valueForKey:@"name"] substringToIndex:1]]; if (![key isEqualToString:prevKey]) { NSDictionary *newDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: [NSNumber numberWithInt:i],@"count", prevKey,@"section", [NSNumber numberWithInt:j], @"total",nil]; [self.keys addObject:newDictionary]; prevKey = [NSString stringWithString:key]; i = 1; } else { i++; } j++; } NSDictionary *newDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: [NSNumber numberWithInt:i],@"count", prevKey,@"section", [NSNumber numberWithInt:j], @"total",nil]; [self.keys addObject:newDictionary]; } [self.tableview reloadData]; The code works fine first time through but I sometimes have to rebuild the entire table so I redo this code which orks fine on the simulator, but on my device the program bombs when I execute the reloadData line : malloc: *** mmap(size=3772944384) failed (error code=12) *** error: can't allocate region *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug malloc: *** mmap(size=3772944384) failed (error code=12) *** error: can't allocate region *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. If I remove the reloadData line the code works on the device. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the way I've built the keys array (ie using autoreleased strings and dictionaries).

  • How to fix error - "@interface interfaceName : someEnumeration" gives error "cannot find interface '

    - by Paul V
    How can I solve "cannot find interface declaration 'someEnumeration', superclass of 'interfaceName'" error? What steps will reproduce the problem? Compiling Wsdl2ObjC Targeting groupwise.wsdl file Fixing non-valid file names of output csource code like ".h" + ".m" and objects inside source files Moving up one of the @interface BEFORE it was used futher in code! What is the expected output? Something working What do you see instead? 33 errors. "Inherited" from only 3 similar Inheritances of a typedef enum object by a class. All errors are typical: typedef enum types_StatusTrackingOptions { types_StatusTrackingOptions_none = 0, types_StatusTrackingOptions_None, types_StatusTrackingOptions_Delivered, types_StatusTrackingOptions_DeliveredAndOpened, types_StatusTrackingOptions_All, } types_StatusTrackingOptions; types_StatusTrackingOptions types_StatusTrackingOptions_enumFromString(NSString *string); NSString * types_StatusTrackingOptions_stringFromEnum(types_StatusTrackingOptions enumValue); @interface types_StatusTracking : types_StatusTrackingOptions { ... and here I'm having error "cannot find interface declaration for 'types_StatusTrackingOptions', superclass of 'types_StatusTracking'". What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Wsdl2ObjC - rev 168, OS - Mac OS X 10.6.2, iPhone SDK - 3.2, Simulator - v. 3.1.2 - 3.1.3, wsdl - for GroupWise v.8, NDK released 2008-12-23, wsdl and xsd files are attached. P.S. GroupWise.wsdl + .xsd files could be downloaded from http://code.google.com/p/wsdl2objc/issues/detail?id=99

  • How Can I Compress Texture in OpenGL on iPhone/iPad?

    - by nonamelive
    Hi, I'm making an iPad app which needs OpenGL to do a flip animation. I have a front image texture and a back image texture. Both the two textures are screenshots. // Capture an image of the screen UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(view.bounds.size); [view.layer renderInContext:UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()]; image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); // Allocate some memory for the texture GLubyte *textureData = (GLubyte*)calloc(maxTextureSize*4, maxTextureSize); // Create a drawing context to draw image into texture memory CGContextRef textureContext = CGBitmapContextCreate(textureData, maxTextureSize, maxTextureSize, 8, maxTextureSize*4, CGImageGetColorSpace(image.CGImage), kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast); CGContextDrawImage(textureContext, CGRectMake(0, maxTextureSize-size.height, size.width, size.height), image.CGImage); CGContextRelease(textureContext); // ...done creating the texture data [EAGLContext setCurrentContext:context]; glGenTextures(1, &textureToView); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, textureToView); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, maxTextureSize, maxTextureSize, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, textureData); // free texture data which is by now copied into the GL context free(textureData); Each of the texture takes up about 8MB memory, which is unacceptable for an iPhone/iPad app. Could anyone tell me how can I compress the texture to reduce the memory. I'm a complete newbie to OpenGL. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Why can't I store a float value - it's always zero!

    - by just_another_coder
    I have a view controller that is created by the app delegate - it's the first one shown in the app. In its interface I declare float lengthOfTime; I also set it as a property: @property (nonatomic) float lengthOfTime; And in it's implemetation: @synthesize lengthOfTime; In the class viewDidLoad method, I set the value: self.lengthOfTime = 3.0f; However, after this, the value is always zero. No errors, no compile warnings, nothing. Just zero. The class is instantiated, it is showing in the view, so I'm pretty sure it's not a nil reference. I've searched all over Google and can't figure it out. What's going on?!? :(
