  • c++/cli pass (managed) delegate to unmanaged code

    - by Ron Klein
    How do I pass a function pointer from managed C++ (C++/CLI) to an unmanaged method? I read a few articles, like this one from MSDN, but it describes two different assemblies, while I want only one. Here is my code: 1) Header (MyInterop.ManagedCppLib.h): #pragma once using namespace System; namespace MyInterop { namespace ManagedCppLib { public ref class MyManagedClass { public: void DoSomething(); }; }} 2) CPP Code (MyInterop.ManagedCppLib.cpp) #include "stdafx.h" #include "MyInterop.ManagedCppLib.h" #pragma unmanaged void UnmanagedMethod(int a, int b, void (*sum)(const int)) { int result = a + b; sum(result); } #pragma managed void MyInterop::ManagedCppLib::MyManagedClass::DoSomething() { System::Console::WriteLine("hello from managed C++"); UnmanagedMethod(3, 7, /* ANY IDEA??? */); } I tried creating my managed delegate and then I tried to use Marshal::GetFunctionPointerForDelegate method, but I couldn't compile.

  • Stored Procedure Parameters Not Available After Declared

    - by SidC
    Hi All, Pasted below is a stored procedure written in SQL Server 2005. My intent is to call this sproc from my ASP.NEt web application through the use of a wizard control. I am new to SQL Server and especially to stored procedures. I'm unsure why my parameters are not available to the web application and not visible in SSMS treeview as a parameter under my sproc name. Can you help me correct the sproc below so that the parameters are correctly instantiated and available for use in my web application? Thanks, Sid Stored Procedure syntax: USE [Diel_inventory] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[AddQuote] Script Date: 05/09/2010 00:31:10 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER procedure [dbo].[AddQuote] as Declare @CustID int, @CompanyName nvarchar(50), @Address nvarchar(50), @City nvarchar(50), @State nvarchar(2), @ZipCode nvarchar(5), @Phone nvarchar(12), @FAX nvarchar(12), @Email nvarchar(50), @ContactName nvarchar(50), @QuoteID int, @QuoteDate datetime, @NeedbyDate datetime, @QuoteAmt decimal, @ID int, @QuoteDetailPartID int, @PartNumber float, @Quantity int begin Insert into dbo.Customers (CompanyName, Address, City, State, ZipCode, OfficePhone, OfficeFAX, Email, PrimaryContactName) Values (@CompanyName, @Address, @City, @State, @ZipCode, @Phone, @FAX, @Email, @ContactName) set @CustID = scope_identity() Insert into dbo.Quotes (fkCustomerID,NeedbyDate,QuoteAmt) Values(@CustID,@NeedbyDate,@QuoteAmt) set @QuoteID = scope_identity() Insert into dbo.QuoteDetail (ID) values(@ID) set @ID=scope_identity() Insert into dbo.QuoteDetailParts (QuoteDetailPartID, QuoteDetailID, PartNumber, Quantity) values (@ID, @QuoteDetailPartID, @PartNumber, @Quantity) END

  • which one of these is an example of coercion

    - by user1890210
    I have been pondering a multiple choice question on coercion. One of the 4 examples a,b,c or d is an example of coercion. I narrowed it down to A or B. But I am having a problem choosing between the two. Cane someone please explain why one is coercion and one isn't. A) string s="tomat"; char c='o'; s=s+c; I thought A could be correct because we have two different types, character and string, being added. Meaning that c is promoted to string, hence coercion. B) double x=1.0; double y=2.0; int i=(int)(x+y); I also thought B was the correct answer because the double (x+y) is being turned into a int to be placed in i. But I thought this could be wrong because its being done actively through use of (int) rather than passively such as "int i = x + y" I'll list the other two options, even though I believe that neither one is the correct answer C) char A=0x20; A = A << 1 | 0x01; cout << A << endl; D) double x=1.0; double y=x+1; return 0; I'm not just looking for an answer, but an explanation. I have read tons of things on coercion and A and B both look like the right answer. So why is one correct and the other not.

  • C++: retrieve map values and insert into second map

    - by donalmg
    Hi, I have one map within one header file class: class One { // code typedef map<string, int> MapStrToInt inline MapStrToInt& GetDetails(unsigned long index) { return pData[index]; } // populate pData.... private: MapStrToInt *pData; }; And a second class which implements another map and wants to get the first 10 details from the class One's map. class Two { // code One::MapStrToInt pDataTen; int function1() { for (int i =0; i < 10; i ++) { One::MapStrToInt * pMap = &(One::GetDetails(i)); pDataTen.insert(pair<string, int>(pMap->first,pMap->second)); } } When I compile this, it states that pMap: has no member named 'first' has no member named 'second' Any suggestions? Thanks..

  • map is not showing correct location in my blackberry applications

    - by Ali
    I am calling blackberry map by converting the real coordinates as you can see public static void showMap(String latitude,String longatude){ try{ int specailLatitude=(int)(Double.parseDouble(latitude))*100000; int specailLongatude=(int)(Double.parseDouble(longatude))*100000; MapView mapView=new MapView(); mapView.setLatitude(specailLatitude); mapView.setLongitude(specailLongatude); mapView.setZoom(07); MapsArguments arg=new MapsArguments(mapView); Invoke.invokeApplication(Invoke.APP_TYPE_MAPS, arg); }catch(Exception e){ CustomUtility.showToast("Map is not available "+e.getMessage()); } }// end of the showMap but problem is this its now showing correct location , it always shows same location in UAE , please help that i am converting correctly ?

  • SQL 2008 HierarchyID - Select X descendants down

  • undefined reference to static member variable

    - by Max
    Hi. I have this class that has a static member. it is also a base class for several other classes in my program. Here's its header file: #ifndef YARL_OBJECT_HPP #define YARL_OBJECT_HPP namespace yarlObject { class YarlObject { // Member Variables private: static int nextID; // keeps track of the next ID number to be used int ID; // the identifier for a specific object // Member Functions public: YarlObject(): ID(++nextID) {} virtual ~YarlObject() {} int getID() const {return ID;} }; } #endif and here's its implementation file. #include "YarlObject.hpp" namespace yarlObject { int YarlObject::nextID = 0; } I'm using g++, and it returns three undefined reference to 'yarlObject::YarlObject::nextID linker errors. If I change the ++nextID phrase in the constructor to just nextID, then I only get one error, and if I change it to 1, then it links correctly. I imagine it's something simple, but what's going on?

  • Jumping onto next string when the condition is met

    - by user98235
    This was a problem related to one of the past topcoder exam problems called HowEasy. Let's assume that we're given a sentence, for instance, "We a1re really awe~~~some" I just wanted to take get rid of every word in the sentence that doesn't contain alphabet characters, so in the above sentence, the desired output would be "We really" The below is the code I wrote (incomplete), and I don't know how to move on to the next string when the condition (the string contains a character that's not alphabet) is met. Could you suggest some revisions or methods that would allow me to do that? vect would be the vector of strings containing the desired output string param; cin>>param; stringstream ss(param); vector<string> vect; string c; while(ss >> c){ for(int i=0; i < c.length(); i++){ if(!(97<=int(c[i])&&int(c[i])<=122) && !(65<=int(c[i])&&int(c[i])<=90)){ //I want to jump onto next string once the above condition is met //and ignore string c; } vect.push_back(c); if (ss.peek() == ' '){ ss.ignore(); } } }

  • Complex sorting on MySQL database

    - by ChrisR
    I'm facing the following situation. We've got an CMS with an entity with translations. These translations are stored in a different table with a one-to-many relationship. For example newsarticles and newsarticle_translations. The amount of available languages is dynamically determined by the same CMS. When entering a new newsarticle the editor is required to enter at least one translation, which one of the available languages he chooses is up to him. In the newsarticle overview in our CMS we would like to show a column with the (translated) article title, but since none of the languages are mandatory (one of them is mandatory but i don't know which one) i don't really know how to construct my mysql query to select a title for each newsarticle, regardless of the entered language. And to make it all a little harder, our manager asked for the possibilty to also be able to sort on title, so fetching the translations in a separate query is ruled out as far as i know. Anyone has an idea on how to solve this in the most efficient way? Here are my table schema's it it might help > desc news; +-----------------+----------------+------+-----+-------------------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +-----------------+----------------+------+-----+-------------------+----------------+ | id | int(10) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | category_id | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | created | timestamp | NO | | CURRENT_TIMESTAMP | | | user_id | int(10) | YES | | NULL | | +-----------------+----------------+------+-----+-------------------+----------------+ > desc news_translations; +-----------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +-----------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(10) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | enabled | tinyint(1) | NO | | 0 | | | news_id | int(1) unsigned | NO | | NULL | | | title | varchar(255) | NO | | | | | summary | text | YES | | NULL | | | body | text | NO | | NULL | | | language | varchar(2) | NO | | NULL | | +-----------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ PS: i've though about subqueries and coalesce() solutions but those seem rather dirty tricks, wondering if something better is know that i'm not thinking of?

  • HashMap Memory Leak because of Dynamic Array

    - by Jake M
    I am attempting to create my own HashMap to understand how they work. I am using an array of Linked Lists to store the values(strings) in my hashmap. I am creating the array like this: Node** list; Instead of this: Node* list[nSize]; This is so the array can be any size at runtime. But I think I am getting a memory leak because of how I am doing this. I dont know where the error is but when I run the following simple code the .exe crashes. Why is my application crashing and how can I fix it? Note: I am aware that using a vector would be much better than an array but this is just for learning and I want to challenge myself to create the hashmap using a 'Dynamic' Array. PS: is that the correct term(Dynamic Array) for the kind of array I am using? struct Node { // to implement }; class HashMap { public: HashMap(int dynSize) { *list = new Node[dynSize]; size = dynSize; for (int i=0; i<size; i++) list[i] = NULL; cout << "END\n"; } ~HashMap() { for (int i=0; i<size; i++) delete list[i]; } private: Node** list; // I could use a vector here but I am experimenting with a pointer to an array(pointer), also its more elegant int size; }; int main() { // When I run this application it crashes. Where is my memory leak? HashMap h(5); system("PAUSE"); return 0; }

  • Returning pointer to a certain value in a macro?

    - by Andrei Ciobanu
    Is it possible to write a macro that has a type and a value as its input parameters (MACRO(type,value)), and returns a valid pointer to a location that holds the submitted value. This macro should perform like the following function, but in a more generic manner: int *val_to_ptr(int val){ int *r = NULL; r = nm_malloc(sizeof(*r)); *r = val; return r; } Where nm_malloc() is a failsafe malloc. The Macro usage should be compatible with this usage: printf("%d",*MACRO(int,5)); Is it possible to achieve that ?

  • Getter/Setter (composition, Java, HW)

    - by Crystal
    I have one class called Person that basically looks like: public class Person { String firstName; String lastName; String telephone; String email; public Person() { firstName = ""; lastName = ""; telephone = ""; email = ""; } public Person(String firstName, String lastName, String telephone, String email) { this.firstName = firstName; this.lastName = lastName; this.telephone = telephone; this.email = email; } public String getFirstName() { return firstName; } public void setFirstName(String firstName) { this.firstName = firstName; } .... Using that class, I setup an abstract class called Loan that looks like: public abstract class Loan { public void setClient(Person client) { this.client = client; } public Person getClient() { return client; } public void setLoanId(int nextId) { loanId = nextId; nextId++; } public int getLoanId() { return loanId; } public void setInterestRate(double interestRate) { this.interestRate = interestRate; } public double getInterestRate() { return interestRate; } public void setLoanLength(int loanLength) { this.loanLength = loanLength; } public int getLoanLength() { return loanLength; } public void setLoanAmount(double loanAmount) { this.loanAmount = loanAmount; } public double getLoanAmount(double loanAmount) { return loanAmount; } private Person client; private int loanId; private double interestRate; private int loanLength; private double loanAmount; private static int nextId = 1; } I have to extend the Loan class with CarLoan and it looks like: public class CarLoan extends Loan { public CarLoan(Person client, double vehiclePrice, double downPayment, double salesTax, double interestRate, CAR_LOAN_TERMS length) { super.setClient(client); super.setInterestRate(interestRate); this.client = client; this.vehiclePrice = vehiclePrice; this.downPayment = downPayment; this.salesTax = salesTax; this.length = length; } public void setVehiclePrice(double vehiclePrice) { this.vehiclePrice = vehiclePrice; } public double getVehiclePrice() { return vehiclePrice; } public void setDownPayment(double downPayment) { this.downPayment = downPayment; } public double getDownPayment() { return downPayment; } public void setSalesTax(double salesTax) { this.salesTax = salesTax; } public double getSalesTax() { return salesTax; } public String toString() { return getClass().getName() + "[vehiclePrice = " + vehiclePrice + '\n' + "downPayment = " + downPayment + '\n' + "salesTax = " + salesTax + "]"; } public enum CAR_LOAN_TERMS {TWO_YEAR, THREE_YEAR, SIX_YEAR}; private double vehiclePrice; private double downPayment; private double salesTax; Few questions. (a) Is what I did in the Loan class to setClient correct given what I have in the Person class? (e.g.this.client = client) (b) Can I call super twice in a method? I have to set two attributes from the Loan class from the constructor in the CarLoan class and I thought that would be a way to do it. (c) Do you have to set attributes for enumeration types differently in a constructor or getter/setter methods? I get an error for (this.length = length) in my CarLoan class and I was unsure of how enumeration values should be set. Thanks!

  • How to make this C++ code more DRY?

    - by Macha
    I have these two methods on a class that differ only in one method call. Obviously, this is very un-DRY, especially as both use the same formula. int PlayerCharacter::getAttack() { attack = 1 + this.level; for(int i = 0; i <= current_equipment; i++) { attack += this.equipment[i].getAttack(); } attack *= sqrt(this.level); return attack; } int PlayerCharacter::getDefense() { defense = 1 + this.level; for(int i = 0; i <= current_equipment; i++) { defense += this.equipment[i].getDefense(); } defense *= sqrt(this.level); return defense; } How can I tidy this up in C++?

  • C header file won't compile with C, but will with C++.

    - by Leif Andersen
    I have the following chunk of a header file BKE_mesh.h: /* Connectivity data */ typedef struct IndexNode { struct IndexNode *next, *prev; int index; } IndexNode; void create_vert_face_map(ListBase **map, IndexNode **mem, const struct MFace *mface, const int totvert, const int totface); void create_vert_edge_map(ListBase **map, IndexNode **mem, const struct MEdge *medge, const int totvert, const int totedge); Note that the header file was prepared for the possibility of being used in a C++ file, as it had: #ifdef __cplusplus extern "C" { #endif at the top of the file, and the needed finish at the bottom. But the class implementing it was written in C. Next, whenever I try to #include the header file, I get an odd error. If the file has a .cpp extension, it compiles just fine, no complaints whatsoever. However, if I do: #include "BKE_mesh.h" inside of a file with a .c extension, I get the following errors: expected ')' before '*' token for the two last functions, in specific, the variable: ListBase **map in both classes. (Note that earlier in the header file, it declared, but not defined ListBase). So, my question is: why is this valid C++ code, but not C code? Thank you.

  • SQL Server JOIN with optional NULL values

    - by Paul McLoughlin
    Imagine that we have two tables as follows: Trades ( TradeRef INT NOT NULL, TradeStatus INT NOT NULL, Broker INT NOT NULL, Country VARCHAR(3) NOT NULL ) CTMBroker ( Broker INT NOT NULL, Country VARCHAR(3) NULL ) (These have been simplified for the purpose of this example). Now, if we wish to join these two tables on the Broker column, and if a country exists in the CTMBroker table on the Country, we have the following two choices: SELECT T.TradeRef,T.TradeStatus FROM Trades AS T JOIN CTMBroker AS B ON B.Broker=T.Broker AND ISNULL(B.Country, T.Country) = T.Country or SELECT T.TradeRef,T.TradeStatus FROM Trades AS T JOIN CTMBroker AS B ON B.Broker=T.Broker AND (B.COUNTRY=T.Country OR B.Country IS NULL) These are both logically equivalent, however in this specific circumstance for our database (SQL Server 2008, SP1) two different execution plans are produced for these two queries with the second version significantly outperforming the first version in terms of both time and logical reads. My question really is as follows: as a general rule would (2) be preferred to (1), or does this just happen to be exploiting some particular idiosyncracy of the optimiser in 2008 SP1 (that could therefore change with future versions of SQL Server).

  • Multiset container appears to stop sorting

    - by Sarah
    I would appreciate help debugging some strange behavior by a multiset container. Occasionally, the container appears to stop sorting. This is an infrequent error, apparent in only some simulations after a long time, and I'm short on ideas. (I'm an amateur programmer--suggestions of all kinds are welcome.) My container is a std::multiset that holds Event structs: typedef std::multiset< Event, std::less< Event > > EventPQ; with the Event structs sorted by their double time members: struct Event { public: explicit Event(double t) : time(t), eventID(), hostID(), s() {} Event(double t, int eid, int hid, int stype) : time(t), eventID( eid ), hostID( hid ), s(stype) {} bool operator < ( const Event & rhs ) const { return ( time < rhs.time ); } double time; ... }; The program iterates through periods of adding events with unordered times to EventPQ currentEvents and then pulling off events in order. Rarely, after some events have been added (with perfectly 'legal' times), events start getting executed out of order. What could make the events ever not get ordered properly? (Or what could mess up the iterator?) I have checked that all the added event times are legitimate (i.e., all exceed the current simulation time), and I have also confirmed that the error does not occur because two events happen to get scheduled for the same time. I'd love suggestions on how to work through this. The code for executing and adding events is below for the curious: double t = 0.0; double nextTimeStep = t + EPID_DELTA_T; EventPQ::iterator eventIter = currentEvents.begin(); while ( t < EPID_SIM_LENGTH ) { // Add some events to currentEvents while ( ( *eventIter ).time < nextTimeStep ) { Event thisEvent = *eventIter; t = thisEvent.time; executeEvent( thisEvent ); eventCtr++; currentEvents.erase( eventIter ); eventIter = currentEvents.begin(); } t = nextTimeStep; nextTimeStep += EPID_DELTA_T; } void Simulation::addEvent( double et, int eid, int hid, int s ) { assert( currentEvents.find( Event(et) ) == currentEvents.end() ); Event thisEvent( et, eid, hid, s ); currentEvents.insert( thisEvent ); }

  • Apply [ThreadStatic] attribute to a method in external assembly

    - by Sen Jacob
    Can I use an external assembly's static method like [ThreadStatic] method? Here is my situation. The assembly class (which I do not have access to its source) has this structure public class RegistrationManager() { private RegistrationManager() {} public static void RegisterConfiguration(int ID) {} public static object DoWork() {} public static void UnregisterConfiguration(int ID) {} } Once registered, I cannot call the DoWork() with a different ID without unregistering the previously registered one. Actually I want to call the DoWork() method with different IDs simultaneously with multi-threading. If the RegisterConfiguration(int ID) method was [ThreadStatic], I could have call it in different threads without problems with calls, right? So, can I apply the [ThreadStatic] attribute to this method or is there any other way I can call the two static methods same time without waiting for other thread to unregister it? If I check it like the following, it should work. for(int i=0; i < 10; i++) { new Thread(new ThreadStart(() => Checker(i))).Start(); } public string Checker(int i) { public static void RegisterConfiguration(i); // Now i cannot register second time public static object DoWork(i); Thread.Sleep(5000); // DoWork() may take a little while to complete before unregistered public static void UnregisterConfiguration(i); }

  • How to maintain fixed size of C variable types over different machines?

    I've all this kind of functions. ssize_t fuc1(int var1, void *buf, size_t count); int func2(char *charPtr, int mode, int dev); short func3( long var2); problem is that data types in C has different sizes when compiled on different machines(64bit & 32bit). This is true for even void*. For some reasons. I need to ensure that these sizes all are same on every machine(64bit & 32bit). So, how should I modify these ?

  • Generate a commutative hash based on three sets of numbers?

    - by DarkAmgine
    I need to generate a commutative hash based on three sets of "score" structs. Each score has a "start", an "end" and a "number". Both start and end are usually huge numbers (8-9 digits) but number is just from 1 to 4. I need them to be commutative so the order does not matter. I'm using XOR at the moment but it seems to be giving bad results. Since I'm working with large large datasets, I'd prefer a performance-friendly solution. Any suggestions? • sum of square of each elements in the vector using for_each

    - by pierr
    Hi, As the function accepted by for_each take only one parameter (the element of the vector), I have to define a static int sum = 0 somewhere so that It can be accessed after calling the for_each . I think this is awkward. Any better way to do this (still use for_each) ? #include <algorithm> #include <vector> #include <iostream> using namespace std; static int sum = 0; void add_f(int i ) { sum += i * i; } void test_using_for_each() { int arr[] = {1,2,3,4}; vector<int> a (arr ,arr + sizeof(arr)/sizeof(arr[0])); for_each( a.begin(),a.end(), add_f); cout << "sum of the square of the element is " << sum << endl; } In Ruby, We can do it this way: sum = 0 [1,2,3,4].each { |i| sum += i*i} #local variable can be used in the callback function puts sum #=> 30 Would you please show more examples how for_each is typically used in practical programming (not just print out each element)? Is it possible use for_each simulate 'programming pattern' like map and inject in Ruby (or map /fold in Haskell). #map in ruby >> [1,2,3,4].map {|i| i*i} => [1, 4, 9, 16] #inject in ruby [1, 4, 9, 16].inject(0) {|aac ,i| aac +=i} #=> 30 EDIT: Thank you all. I have learned so much from your replies. We have so many ways to do the same single thing in C++ , which makes it a little bit difficult to learn. But it's interesting :)

  • Java homework help, Error <identifier> expected

    - by user2900126
    Help with java homework this is my assignment that I have, this assignment code I've tried. But when I try to compile it I keep getting errors which I cant seem to find soloutions too: Error says <identifier> expected for Line 67 public static void () Assignment brief To write a simple java classMobile that models a mobile phone. Details the information stored about each mobile phone will include • Its type e.g. “Sony ericsson x90” or “Samsung Galaxy S”; • Its screen size in inches; You may assume that this a whole number from the scale 3 to 5 inclusive. • Its memory card capacity in gigabytes You may assume that this a whole number • The name of its present service provider You may assume this is a single line of text. • The type of contract with service provider You may assume this is a single line of text. • Its camera resolution in megapixels; You should not assume that this a whole number; • The percentage of charge left on the phone e.g. a fully charged phone will have a charge of 100. You may assume that this a whole number • Whether the phone has GPS or not. Your class will have fields corresponding to these attributes . Start by opening BlueJ, creating a new project called myMobile which has a classMobile and set up the fields that you need, Next you will need to write a Constructor for the class. Assume that each phone is manufactured by creating an object and specifying its type, its screen size, its memory card capacity, its camera resolution and whether it has GPS or not. Therefore you will need a constructor that allows you to pass arguments to initialise these five attributes. Other fields should be set to appropriate default values. You may assume that a new phone comes fully charged. When the phone is sold to its owner, you will need to set the service provider and type of contract with that provider so you will need mutator methods • setProvider () - - to set service provider. • setContractType - - to set the type of contract These methods will be used when the phones provider is changed. You should also write a mutator method ChargeUp () which simulates fully charging the phone. To obtain information about your mobile object you should write • accessor methods corresponding to four of its fields: • getType () – which returns the type of mobile; • getProvider () – which returns the present service provider; • getContractType () – which returns its type of contract; • getCharge () – which returns its remaining charge. An accessor method to printDetails () to print, to the terminal window, a report about the phone e.g. This mobile phone is a sony Erricsson X90 with Service provider BigAl and type of contract PAYG. At present it has 30% of its battery charge remaining. Check that the new method works correctly by for example, • creating a Mobile object and setting its fields; • calling printDetails () and t=checking the report corresponds to the details you have just given the mobile; • changing the service provider and contract type by calling setprovider () and setContractType (); • calling printDetails () and checking the report now prints out the new details. Challenging excercises • write a mutator methodswitchedOnFor () =which simulates using the phone for a specified period. You may assume the phone loses 1% of its charge for each hour that it is switched on . • write an accessor method checkcharge () whichg checks the phone remaing charge. If this charge has a value less than 25%, then this method returns a string containg the message Be aware that you will soon need to re-charge your phone, otherwise it returns a string your phone charge is sufficient. • Write a method changeProvider () which simulates changing the provider (and presumably also the type of service contract). Finally you may add up to four additional fields, with appropriate methods, that might be required in a more detailed model. above is my assignment that I have, this assignment code I've tried. But when I try to oompile it I keep getting errors which I cant seem to find soloutions too: Error says <identifier> expected for Line 67 public static void () /** * to write a simple java class Mobile that models a mobile phone. * * @author (Lewis Burte-Clarke) * @version (14/10/13) */ public class Mobile { // type of phone private String phonetype; // size of screen in inches private int screensize; // menory card capacity private int memorycardcapacity; // name of present service provider private String serviceprovider; // type of contract with service provider private int typeofcontract; // camera resolution in megapixels private int cameraresolution; // the percentage of charge left on the phone private int checkcharge; // wether the phone has GPS or not private String GPS; // instance variables - replace the example below with your own private int x; // The constructor method public Mobile(String mobilephonetype, int mobilescreensize, int mobilememorycardcapacity,int mobilecameraresolution,String mobileGPS, String newserviceprovider) { this.phonetype = mobilephonetype; this.screensize = mobilescreensize; this.memorycardcapacity = mobilememorycardcapacity; this.cameraresolution = mobilecameraresolution; this.GPS = mobileGPS; // you do not use this ones during instantiation,you can remove them if you do not need or assign them some default values //this.serviceprovider = newserviceprovider; //this.typeofcontract = 12; //this.checkcharge = checkcharge; Mobile samsungPhone = new Mobile("Samsung", "1024", "2", "verizon", "8", "GPS"); 1024 = screensize; 2 = memorycardcapacity; 8 = resolution; GPS = gps; "verizon"=serviceprovider; //typeofcontract = 12; //checkcharge = checkcharge; } // A method to display the state of the object to the screen public void displayMobileDetails() { System.out.println("phonetype: " + phonetype); System.out.println("screensize: " + screensize); System.out.println("memorycardcapacity: " + memorycardcapacity); System.out.println("cameraresolution: " + cameraresolution); System.out.println("GPS: " + GPS); System.out.println("serviceprovider: " + serviceprovider); System.out.println("typeofcontract: " + typeofcontract); } /** * The mymobile class implements an application that * simply displays "new Mobile!" to the standard output. */ public class mymobile { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("new Mobile!"); //Display the string. } } public static void buildPhones(){ Mobile Samsung = new Mobile("Samsung", "3.0", "4gb", "8mega pixels", "GPS"); Mobile Blackberry = new Mobile("Blackberry", "3.0", "4gb", "8mega pixels", "GPS"); Samsung.displayMobileDetails(); Blackberry.displayMobileDetails(); } public static void main(String[] args) { buildPhones(); } } any answers.replies and help would be greatly appreciated as I really lost!

  • Making uppercase of std::string

    - by Daniel K.
    Which implementation do you think is better? std::string ToUpper( const std::string& source ) { std::string result; result.reserve( source.length() ); std::transform( source.begin(), source.end(), result.begin(), std::ptr_fun<int, int>( std::toupper ) ); return result; } and... std::string ToUpper( const std::string& source ) { std::string result( source.length(), '\0' ); std::transform( source.begin(), source.end(), result.begin(), std::ptr_fun<int, int>( std::toupper ) ); return result; } Difference is that the first one uses reserve method after the default constructor, but the second one uses the constructor accepting the number of characters.

  • How to find whole graph coverage path in dynamic state-flow diagram?

    - by joseph
    Hello, As I've been researching algorithms for path finding in graph, I found interesting problem. Definition of situation: 1)State diagram can have p states, and s Boolean Fields, and z Int Fields 2)Every state can have q ingoing and r outgoing transitions, and h Int fields (h belongs to z - see above) 3)Every transition can have only 1 event, and only 1 action 4)every action can change n Boolean Fields, and x Int Fields 5)every event can have one trigger from combination of any count of Boolean Fields in diagram 6)Transition can be in OPEN/CLOSED form. If the transition is open/closed depends on trigger2 compounded from 0..c Boolean fields. 7) I KNOW algorithm for finding shortest paths from state A to state B. 8) I KNOW algorithm for finding path that covers all states and transitions of whole state diagram, if all transitions are OPEN. Now, what is the goal: I need to find shortest path that covers all states and transitions in dynamically changing state diagram described above. When an action changes some int field, the algorithm should go through all states that have changed int field. The algorithm should also be able to open and close transition (by going through transitions that open and close another transitions by action) in the way that the founded path will be shortest and covers all transitions and states. Any idea how to solve it? I will be really pleased for ANY idea. Thanks for answers.

  • In ADL_Display_ConnectedDisplays_Get() from ATI's ADL Library, the out parameter lpConnections is co

    - by animesh
    The API defined in the ADL SDK manual reads: int ADL_Display_ConnectedDisplays_Get(int iAdapterIndex, int* lpConnections) They say that lpConnections is the pointer to the bit field indicating whether the output connectors on the specified adapter have devices physically attached to them. This information is exactly what I want but nowhere in the documentation I could find any data on what the various bits in the lpConnections obtained might mean. I also tried going through the header files but found nothing relevant on this. I know this is very specific to but can anyone here answer?
