  I'm trying to create a table for pseudo array variable. That looks like CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `MyArray`.`ArrayTable` ( `ID` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL COMMENT 'Hash value of SessionID + ArrayName' , `SessionID` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL , `ArrayName` CHAR(26) NOT NULL COMMENT '32 digit char - 6 digit longest process id (assumtion)' , `Index` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL , `Value` TEXT NOT NULL , PRIMARY KEY (`ID`, `SessionID`) ) ENGINE = MyISAM; The table is not normalized yet, 'hope this will make it a little simpler to understand :) To avoid collission between client, there should be a differentiator between client session. For that reason i think need to know current session/process id (just like "SHOW PROCESSLIST") but really need to know IN WHICH process the query are?

  Anyone know of good code examples of how to make lists look different than your everyday average black list or more graphically pleasing than you usually see in android apps. I've looked through google code but haven't found too many. I'm looking for different and eye catching lists. I hope this question isn't too generic. Also i'm open to anything, code, examples, blog posts, etc, you name it. I've really struggled with lists and making them look more snazzy. I'm talking more the code level not the graphics or icons used.

• In Ruby on Rails Routing I Would Like to Use Dash `-` Instead of Underscore `_`

  I would like all the URLs for my web applications to use dash - instead of underscore _ for word separators. I'm surprised about a couple of things really: Google et al. continue to distinguish them. That RoR doesn't have a simple global configuration parameter to map - to _ in the routing. Or does it? I found a few questions here and elsewhere, but the best solution I've seen is to use :as or a named route. That's quite annoying. So I'm thinking of modifying the Rails routing to check for that global config and change - to _ before dispatching to a controller action. But before I do that, I'm hoping someone can save me the trouble! Thanks in advance for any help, or even confirmation that my approach makes sense. I'd submit it back. BTW, I'm currently on 2.3.8, but hope to migrate to 3 soon.

• Facebook page linking to external site sign-up process, capture permission to write to wall in process?

  Hi all, Have had a good hunt through the archive but can't find anyone trying to do this... hope someone familiar with the facebook API can confirm if it's possible? Basically I have a client who wants to replicate their membership sign up process in a tab on their facebook page. The form would still submit to their own website to process, we'd just be replicating the form fields. As an additional requirement they want to capture peoples facebook user ID and get permission to post back to a users wall at the same time... The idea being that once the user is a member we can post back to their wall so their friends see that they've signed up... Basically after a sanity check that: 1) these things are possible to do; 2) the best method to build the form in a FB page - I'm guessing using JS to create all fields & ajax to submit to the external site?   Hi, I hope someone here could help me, because I couldn't find any solution with Google. What I have to do is to generate a XML-string (that works) an save that directly into a file on an sftp-server. So far, so good... I used the following code with ftp and it works to, but not with ftps. So I either need another options-configuration for the stream or a different way to solve that task. • Need help in downloading file with header() function

  Hi. I'm trying to explain as best as I can, sorry for my English. I have a list of links, each linked to a php file with an id by parameters (ex. download.php?id=1 or ?id=2 and so on). This file create a new instance of a class witch return the correct header of the files so it displays the save dialog box of the browser. Now I need to check if the files is already downloaded in past (The first time you downloaded it I add a field on the mysql db). This checks go ahead if you haven't download the files, else return false. Here is the problem, when it returns false or something else the browser redirect me to the download.php file, so I get a blank page or what I'm echoing. I need that if the file is already download it show me a js alert for advice ppl. Hope you can understand what i mean. Thanks for help

• Archiving Database Tables using Java

  My application demands archiving database tables between sybase and db2 and vice-a-versa and within(db2 to db2 and sybase to sybase) using java. I am trying to understand the best strategies around in terms performance, implementation, ease of use and scalability. Here is my current process - source and destination tables with the acceptable parameters (from java) are defined within xml. the application reads the source and destination configurations and execute them sequentially. destination is sometime optional when source is just deleting data from a specific table or when the source is just calling a stored procedure. dataset between source and destination is extremely large (in millions) From top of my head, it looks like I can define dependencies between multiple source and destination combination and have them execute in parallel in multiple treads. But will this improve any performance(i hope it will)? Are there any open-source frameworks for data archiving using java? Any other thoughts on the implements side will be really helpful. Thanks

  Hello all. I am using the Validation Plugin for jQuery and it works wonders. Except when I have a group of checkboxes...the error messages will display right after the first checkbox...like so: <tbody> <c:forEach items="${list}" var="item"> <tr> <td align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="selectItems" value="<c:out value="${item.numberPlate}"/>" /> </td> <!--some other columns--> </tr> </c:forEach> </tbody> I found that I can use a wrapper for these checkboxes ,then place the error message there, but I have no idea how to do it since I'm creating the rows dynamically.   I have a datagrid in flash 8 that has an array as a data provider. One of the items in the array is a number, which represents an amount of money. So I iterate through the array and create a new item "amountFormatted" in each line of the array. For example I have a value of 10 and a formatted value of £10.00 in the array. This formatted value then appears in the datagrid. This seems a little cumbersome and I wondered if there was a way to set some automatic function so that the column in the datagrid is automatically formatted. a bit like an excel column can have formatting applied to it. I hope that is clear, thanks for any response.

(checker.php echo out how many points you've got in a span class vispoints1). Now isnt there a smarter method doing this, instead of sending requests like this all the time.. I mean sites like facebook and that, they dont do like this to check if you e.g got a new friend request? Hope you can help me find a better method examples would be good too.

  Hi, hope someone can help me on learning some new stuff about delegates in iOS-programming. I have a "MainViewController" which is the first VC when the app starts. I´ve a kind of modelselection with different UIImageViews and after choosing one of them, i´m pushing a new VC. I want to handle the modelChoice with a delegate, so all other viewControllers can listen to that and act based on the users choice. But does that mean that i have to alloc a new instance of that "MainViewController" in every VC? Whats the solution on that? How do i create (i think its called) static delegate? • mysql inserts & updates optimized

  This is an optimization question, mostly. I have many forms on my sites that do simple Inserts and Updates. (Nothing complicated) But, several of the form's input fields are not necessary and may be left empty. (again, nothing complicated) However, my SQL query will have all columns in the Statement. My question, is it best to optimize the Inserts/Update queries appropriately? And only apply the columns that are changed into the query? We all hear that we shouldn't use the "SELECT *" query, unless it's absolutely needed for displaying all columns. But what about Inserts & Updates? Hope this makes sense. I'm sure any amount of optimization is acceptable. But I never really hear about this, specifically, from anyone.

Not even when I set them to some value without binding (like in Grid.Column="1"). I've snooped the application and saw that inside my grid nobody ever sets Grid.Column and Grid.Row. Any ideas?

  I have a situation where I need the following RequestMapping: @RequestMapping(value={"/{section}"}) ...method implementation here... @RequestMapping(value={"/support"}) ...method implementation here... There is an obvious conflict. My hope was that Spring would resolve this automatically and map /support to the second method, and everything else to the first, but it instead maps /support to the first method. How can I tell Spring to allow an explicit RequestMapping to override a RequestMapping with a PathVariable in the same place? (Edit - this is simplified, I know that having those two RequestMapping alone wouldn't make much sense)

  Hi I am using an NSSortdescriptor to sort a collection of NSArrays, I then came across a case where the particular NSArray to be sorted contains an NSDictionary who contains an NSDictionary. I would like to sort from the string paired with a key in the last dictionary. This is how I would reference the string: NSDictionary *productDict = [MyArray objectAtIndex:index]; NSString *dealerName = [[productDict objectForKey:@"dealer"] objectForKey:@"name"]; How would I use the dealerName in my NSSortdescriptor to sort the array? • NSCFType keeps occurring, something is not being released?

  I'm attempting to delete files from the documents directory using a tableview/array combination. For some reason, my NSString pointing to the Documents directory path is being converted to a NSCFType (which after some research, I understand is happening because a variable is not being released). Because of this, the application crashes at the line NSString *lastPath = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:temp]; claiming that NSCFType cannot recognize the method stringByAppendingPathComponent. • How to inline compressed CSS in Rails with assets pipeline

  I'm trying to inline CSS into my layout. I'm currently using = Rails.application.assets.find_asset('embedded.css').body.html_safe However, the CSS returned is not compressed. I verified what .digest_path asset file exists, and is properly compressed. I can, of course, write a helper that will check if current on-disk compressed asset file exists for a given asset, and use it. However, I think find_asset actually compiles a CSS asset each time it is called -- not good in production. I hope a cleaner solution exists for this issue.

• Help! Obj-C/Iphone programming: extracting string from html text and reading off line by line

  hihi, I have this html text response from a particular website: <tr><td valign="top"><img src="/icons/image2.gif" alt="[IMG]"></td><td><a href="crsdsdfs2221.jpg">crash-2221.jpg</a></td><td align="right">14-Jun-2010 14:29 Notice for every line, there is this href=".__", which is an image file with random name and random format. I would like to extract that string within the inverted commas out so that i can append it into a URL path and download the image. I've been looking through this documentation from apple: http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/cocoa/conceptual/strings/Articles/SearchingStrings.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20000149-CJBBGBAI on String programming but couldn't find one that fits my bill. Also after reading it, what code can I use to ensure that I will be reading the next line the next time my function is called( because I want to download the next picture). Hope some kind soul can help me out, thanks!
