• Jquery autosuggest google maps - Load on selection

  At the moment, the Google map code works like this: When you start typing in the input box it loads a list of suggestions. Then when you click on one of these options from the list, it puts it into the input box. However, THEN you still have to click find to load up the result. I want to have it so when you click on an option from the autosuggest list, it automatically loads the result, without having to click "find" afterwards. This is the code I am working with. • Wastage of resources in Virtualization

  I am not sure if this is the write place to ask the question. However i hope it is. When looking for a VPS earlier today, I was trying to understand how each container would work in the background. Keeping in mind the fact that the operating system uses most of the power and power on a system, wouldn't having multiple operating systems in the same machine mean more wastage of resources. For instance if i was running centOS on a dedicated box and it was running lets say 20 background OS level processes. Then i go and install a virtualization platform and install 5 more centOS virtual machines in the same system which are exactly the same as the host operating system. Doesn't this mean duplication of those 20 processes 6 times? So internally the context switching is happening between 120 processes instead of 20?

• Magento - How to link the Configurable Product image to the Simple Product image?

  This is the case: I have a configurable product with several simple products. These simple products need to have the same product image as the configurable product. Now I have to upload the same image to each simple product over and over again. Is there a way to link the product image of the configurable product to the simple products? Some of my products have 30 simple products in 1 configurable product and it is kinda irrelevant to upload the same image 30 times. I hope someone can help me with this problem! Thanks in advance!

• Django Problem - trying to access data entered into a form and feed it through a different page

  OK, so let me give you an overview first. I have this site and in it there is a form section. When you access that section you can view or start a new project. Each project has 3-5 different forms. My problem is that I don't want viewers to have to go through all 3-5 pages to see the relevant information they need. Instead I want to give each project a main page where all the essential data entered into the forms is shown as non-editable data. I hope this makes sense. So I need to find a way to access all that data from the different forms for each project and to feed that data into the new page I'll be calling "Main". Each project will have a separate main page for itself. I'm pretty much clueless as to how I should do this, so any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks

  Hello GNU 23.1.1 By clicking the F5 button I can compile my project. However, I want to extend this so that any unsaved work would be saved and then compiled. Normally I just do C-x-s to save then click F5.   I need to select rows in random order and return a query which holds the rows in both regular order and in reverse order. This is done to simulate a fantasy draft for a basketball game I'm working on. For example, I need a result set as followed: team1 1 team2 2 team6 3 team9 4 team9 5 team6 6 team2 7 team1 8 As you can see, the first four teams are random then then following four are in reverse order. • Database design advice needed.

  Hi all, I'm a lone developer for a telecoms company, and am after some database design advice from anyone with a bit of time to answer. I am inserting into one table ~2 million rows each day, these tables then get archived and compressed on a monthly basis. Each monthly table contains ~15,000,000 rows. Although this is increasing month on month. For every insert I do above I am combining the data from rows which belong together and creating another "correlated" table. This table is currently not being archived, as I need to make sure I never miss an update to the correlated table. (Hope that makes sense) Although in general this information should remain fairly static after a couple of days of processing. All of the above is working perfectly. However my company now wishes to perform some stats against this data, and these tables are getting too large to provide the results in what would be deemed a reasonable time. Even with the appropriate indexes set. So I guess after all the above my question is quite simple. Should I write a script which groups the data from my correlated table into smaller tables. Or should I store the queries result sets in something like memcache? I'm already using mysqls cache, but due to having limited control over how long the data is stored for, it's not working ideally. The main advantages I can see of using something like memcache: No blocking on my correlated table after the query has been cashed. Greater flexibility of sharing the collected data between the backend collector and front end processor. (i.e custom reports could be written in the backend and the results of these stored in the cache under a key which then gets shared with anyone who would want to see the data of this report) Redundancy and scalability if we start sharing this data with a large amount of customers. The main disadvantages I can see of using something like memcache: Data is not persistent if machine is rebooted / cache is flushed. The main advantages of using MySql Persistent data. Less code changes (although adding something like memcache is trivial anyway) The main disadvantages of using MySql Have to define table templates every time I want to store provide a new set of grouped data. Have to write a program which loops through the correlated data and fills these new tables. Potentially will still grow slower as the data continues to be filled. Apologies for quite a long question. It's helped me to write down these thoughts here anyway, and any advice/help/experience with dealing with this sort of problem would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Alan

• Checking for 2 exepcted values in Junit

  Hi, I have a java program which throws an exception with 2 different messages for 2 different scenarios and I want the Junit test case to check for equality for both of these messages. As an example - public void amethod() { // do some processing if(scenario1 == true) { throw new MySystemException("An error occured due to case 1 being incorrect."); } else if(scenario2 == true) { throw new MySystemException("An error occured as case 2 could not be found"); } } Now the JUnit for this would be something like- public void testAMethod() { // do something assertEquals("Expected", "Actual"); } As I understand, in this above example, if I use the Scenario1 exception message the junit will fail when an exception is thrown for Scenario2 and vice versa. I would like to know if there is any other way provided in Junit by which I can use this one test method and check for both the messages for the test to pass? Something like an OR, if possible to provide the "Expected" value with both these expected message. I hope my query is clear enough. Thanks

• How do I make different texts to appear in after clicking x-times?

  I want to show some text within a class for each click but keep the clicky-class. Shortly, if you click 2 times, you will get a div-text "You clicked two times", you will still be able to click a third time, then you will get "You clicked three times", until the fifth time when everything will hide. Is there any simpel way to do this? I would like to learn C++ because i need a standard tool for write compiled applications with good performance but i have no idea about witch environment i have to choose (Ex: Borland, Microsoft, Eclipse+MinGW, ...). Based those parameters: Most useful more opensource project or work requests Most standard not a proprietary versions Biggest community documentation, manuals, tutorials, forums... Better IDE add-ons, highlight, debug, cross platform, autocomplete... Easy setup A simple setup, to focus on learning the basics Actually I'm on OSX but I can use a VM if needed. • Finding files with bash and copy to another location and reducing depth of folders

  I'm trying to recover a mates hard drive, there is no structure what so ever so music and images are everywhere but in named folders sometimes 5 folders deep, I've managed to write a one-liner that finds the files and copies them to a mounted drive but it preserves the file structure completely. What I'm after is a bit of code that searches the drive and copies to another location and copies just the parent folder with the mp3/jpg files within and not the complete path. The other issue I have is the music is /folder/folder/folder/Artist/1.mp3..2.mp3..10.mp3 etc etc so I have to preserve the folder 'Artist' to give him any hope of finding his tracks again. What I have working currently: find /media/HP/ -name *.mp3 -fprintf /media/HP/MUSIC/Script.sh 'mkdir -p "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h" \n cp "%h/%f" "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h/"\n' I then run the script.sh and it does all the copying. • Slide through view controllers but not with the UISwipeGestureRecognizer

  Here is my issue, i got 5 view controllers and i can switch between them trough swipe with the UISwipeGestureRecognizer class and xcode's storyboard. So this works, but, i dont like the slide effect. I like to make it in a way so you can exactly slide the view to another by dragging it. • Adding more OR searches with CONTAINS Brings Query to Crawl

  I have a simple query that relies on two full-text indexed tables, but it runs extremely slow when I have the CONTAINS combined with any additional OR search. As seen in the execution plan, the two full text searches crush the performance. If I query with just 1 of the CONTAINS, or neither, the query is sub-second, but the moment you add OR into the mix the query becomes ill-fated. The two tables are nothing special, they're not overly wide (42 cols in one, 21 in the other; maybe 10 cols are FT indexed in each) or even contain very many records (36k recs in the biggest of the two). I was able to solve the performance by splitting the two CONTAINS searches into their own SELECT queries and then UNION the three together. Is this UNION workaround my only hope? Thanks. • Rails routing: how to mix "GET" and "PUT"

  Not sure how to frame this question (I'm still wrapping my head around Rails). Let's try this: Say I wanted to implement the user side of Ryan Bates' excellent railscast on nested models. (He shows how to implement a survey where you can add and remove questions and answers dynamically). I want the user's side of this: to be able to answer questions and, not in the tutorial, be able to add comments. It seems to me that you have to implement a view that shows the questions and answers, allow selection of the answers, and the input of comments. So there would need to be a way to show the information, but also update the model on input, right? I know I'm not explaining this very well. I hope you understand what I'm getting at. Is it just a question of setting up the right routes? Or is there some controller mojo that needs to happen?

• After grouping by, can I refer to the elements of the original IEnumerable in a LINQ query?

  Example: from OriginalObject in ListOfOriginalObjects group new CustomObject { X = OriginalObject.A, Y = OriginalObject.B } by OriginalObject.Z into grouping select new GroupOfCustomObjects { Z = grouping.Key, C = OriginalObject.C, group = grouping } In the select part of the query, I'd like to add a property (OriginalObject.C) to the type GroupOfCustomObjects. But it seems that OriginalObject is out of scope in that part of the query. I can sort of understand why, since I am not grouping on that property and I am also not making that property part of CustomObject that I'm grouping. One workaround is to add a property C to CustomObject and the in the GroupOfCustomObjects read the value of the first CustomObject in the grouping. My issue with that is that I'm adding a property to an object that doesn't need it (CustomObject), just to be able to add it to the GroupOfCustomObjects. I hope I have explained this properly! Is there a way to refer to the OriginalObject that the query starts with? Thanks!
