• Can't see the Chinese characters in VIM

  I find that when I type Chinese characters(encoded with utf-8) into VIM,I cannot see them at all while they do exist there.I can copy and paste them into other text editors and it seems everything is fine.How can I fix this problem?Thanks!

  If considering Windows only environment, what's the advantage of introducing OpenVPN as the company VPN service, instead of Windows built-in protocols? Especially the new SSTP protocol already overcome the one of the weakness of PPTP, which may not go over firewall/NAT. I'm wondering is there any reason not to use Windows integrated solution. The strength of the security can be an issue but I'm not sure how different they are (I know MS VPN was vulnerable but is it still?) Thanks.

• soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 11s! error with Xen virtual machines

  Getting a kernel panic with this error on my XEN VPS's. (all on 8.04 LTS) The kernel version on my Dom-0 is 2.6.24-25-xen and the kernel version on the Xen VPS is also 2.6.24-25-xen. I read something about disabling APIC from here http://muffinresearch.co.uk/archives/2008/08/20/ubuntu-bug-soft-lockup-cpu0-stuck-for-11s/ but that doesn't seem to help as well. Anyone experienced this and are there any workarounds? Thanks in advance!

Could anyone recommend a toolbox intended for this sort of thing, or some other good method for storage? I have a two drawer wide file that I currently use, with large plastic bags.   Hi, I use the built in DVD burner from OS X. Whenever I burn a disk, it is verified after burning. Nice, but I am usually quicker in verifying myself with a bit more human, maybe more error prone process... Just takes too long! Is there a way to turn this off in OS X? Thanks!

• Fast (non-blocking) way to transfer many files to another server

  I am currently attempting to transfer over 1 million files from one server to another. Using wget, it seems to be extremely slow, probably because it starts a new transfer after the previous one has been completed. Question: Is there a faster non-blocking (asynchronous) way to do the transfer? I do not have enough space on the first server to compress the files into tar.gz and transferring them over. Thanks!

I mean that when I set File access to Read and write and press Apply permission to enclosed files botton, after a few seconds my setting (Read and write) will be disappeared and it returns to ---. What I'm not really sure about is if I put my old hard drive on an external case, then install Ubuntu on the new one and configure, etc... • Can Azure host ColdFusion?

  A friend has a site developed in ColdFusion with MySQL and is looking for better cost-effective hosting as the traffic scales up rapidly. Azure comes to mind. I haven't used Azure myself, however, I believe it is possible to setup and interact with the web-server via RDP into a hosted Virtual Machine? I am curious if ColdFusion can be installed in the hosted Azure VM. Also, would the site have to be tweaked to run on Azure SQL, or could it continue to use MySQL? Thanks.

• Hyper-V/Ubuntu server 12.04 - VM does not stop

  i just installed a ubuntu 12.04 server on a 2008 R2 Hyper-V server and all is fine (networking/storage ...). There is just one thing, when i halt my linux (using "sudo halt"), i can see on the console that the system is halted but the vm status on hyper-v is still "started". Then i need to stop it on the hyper-v management tool. Anybody has an idea on how to properly stop this VM on hyper-V automatically ? Thanks, Alex

• Scroll shell output with mouse in tmux

  Mouse scrolling doesn't work in tmux the way it works when I run shell without tmux (in Gnome Terminal). It seems tmux sends mouse scroll events as if I pressed Up/Down keys. But I want it to scroll though the shell output history. Is there a way to make tmux work like this? Note: I know how to scroll with keyboard (thanks to another question here).   Clients that have been reporting their state fine suddenly start reporting "Windows 0.0" for their OS and "Not yet contacted" for their Last Contacted date even though previously these values were present and correct.
