• Why is a # sign added to the end of URLS?

  Note: I'm asking this from the perspective of the site developers (trying to help someone there). not as a user. Please don't forward this to superuser.com. It's a server admin question. Worse, when you click back you get garbage url. I'm trying to debug what is causing the redirect. Any advice on how to find it ?

  I live in West Palm Beach, Florida. However, I am attending to school at University of Center Florida for materials science and engineering. Right now, I am on vacation and live in WPB, FL. There is one certainly problem when I login at private forum I'm getting error for not same the ip-address so I had to make new account with false information in city and still unable to success. Of course, it won't do that due to policy from forum required the ip-address has to be same in Orlando, FL. local only. How can I change the location of my ip address to Orlando? Also, in chat-room from forum it would show my ip-address so I'd be in trouble if they find out that I am not live in Orlando. Please help with me. Tell me how to change ip adress step and step. • Is there a tool that allows site users to schedule meetings with each other? [closed]

  I'm the webmaster for a debate team, and we're trying to find a tool that allows us to have multiple team members say when they're available and see who else is available during those timeslots for one-on-one practice rounds. I suppose we could use something like Doodle, but that would involve recreating the Doodle every week. There are many scheduling tools available, but they're usually built so that you can sign up to meet with a specific individual (think a doctor or a professor's office hours), whereas you could be paired with ANY individual.

• Should I use the same Google Analytics code for my website and native mobile app?

  My website is a forum. The native mobile app's only function is to access the forum and provide a better experience than can be provided through the browser. Given that the same content is being accessed, should I use the same Google Analytics tracking code? Or should I create a new property and select "Not a website" when it asks for the website? I was not able to find anything that discussed this and what would be best practice, given that the same content is being accessed. Thanks!

  My employer was recently contacted by a company who convinced my employer that they could do what they called search engine placement and that they can guaranty that we will be placed on he top of googles search results. I immediately told my employer that it sounded like a scam, but I was made to contact the company regardless and investigate. The sales person insisted that SEP was different than the SEO and ad words campaigns we are already performing and that it was a cheaper way to be listed in the adwords section and that it didn't include a cost per click. It sounds to me like its kinda scammy like they are going to setup an adwords campaign and just charge us a flat rate that is higher than the cost per clicks. Has anyone heard of this and is it at all legitimate?

• SEO URL structure for tag search on site

  I am looking to add tags to each product on my site e.g. brown, x products under £x, second hand x, refurbished x etc. Once you click these tags it will then search for other tags that are similar. I was thinking of using a url structure of www.site.com/tags/this%is%the%tag%name and then simply have a page that shows the results of all the products with that tag. I heard a while back that google generally ignores or downgrades anything with ‘search’ in the url and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? Also, would you say /tags/ is a pretty valid destination or is it best to break it down and add more levels e.g. /product-type/product%variation Thanks in advance!

• Remove Clutter from the Opera Speed Dial Page

  Do you want to clean up the Speed Dial page in Opera so that only the thumbnails are visible? Today we show you a couple of tweaks that will make it happen. Speed Dial Page The search bar and text at the bottom take up room and add clutter to the look and feel of Opera’s Speed Dial page. Changing the Settings Two small tweaks to the config settings will clean it all up. To get started type opera:config into the address bar and press enter. Type “speed” into the quick find bar and look for the Speed Dial State entry. Change the 1 to 2 and click save. You will see the following message concerning the changes…click OK. Next type “search” into the quick find bar and look for the Speed Dial Search Type entry. Remove all of the text in the blank and click save. Once again you will see a message about the latest change that you have made. At this point you may need to restart Opera for both changes to take full effect. There will be a noticeable difference in how the Speed Dial page looks afterwards and is much cleaner without the Search bar and text field. You will also still be able to access the right click context menu just like before. Conclusion If you have been looking to get a cleaner and less cluttered Speed Dial page in Opera, then these two little hacks will get the job done! • google analytics reverse transaction not working with sales performance

  We have google analytics account and trying to do reverse transaction. We have created a transaction on one date and reverse transaction on some other date. After transaction if we do reverse transaction it disappears from transactions list. Is it the expected behavior or abnormal behavior? But, if we check the same order data in sales performance, the reverse transaction does not reflects on when we created the transaction, it reflecting on when we made reverse transaction date. It should not be do like this. The reverse transaction should affect the same date on when we made transaction date.

  We have a client that needs an e-commerce site set up pretty quickly. As I have no experience with e-commerce, I am looking for some guidance. Basically, the two big features we need are: Ability for customer to add info about order (example: the name the customer wants to be put on the customizable product they ordered) Ability for customer to upload photo of product to be customized I hope this makes sense. Right now I am really looking into Shopify, but I can't tell if it does everything we need. I know you can add order notes when checking out, but not sure about image upload (maybe it can be added as an app through the API?).

  I'm looking for the simplest way of creating 'buttons' with bootom-central triangles as follows: |--------| | Text | |---\/---| By buttons/menu items I mean something which will will support atomic mouse behavior for the whole shape's region. No rounded corners just the shape itself. I saw plenty of websites doing thsese buttons lately, but now for some strange reason I couldn't find any.   I'm currently looking for a hosting company that can provide a very solid service with a 100% SLA. In the search both cloud hosting and managed dedicated hosting have come up. (I'd rather not manage the server myself as I'm still rather new to Linux.) I'm not sure if phrasing this as a "which is best" would make sense, but what advantages does cloud hosting have over dedicated server hosting? I need a reliable service above all else, and some elements of the application to be hosted will be relatively CPU intensive, although those spikes in CPU usage will be sporadic, so the hosting needs to be able to deal with that.

  I've Googled everywhere for a solution for this, but though the same issue appears to be happening to a lot of people, I havent found anything that helped. Several of my clients are receiving loads of spam emails with the senders email being their own. The emails subject line is: Environmental corporation searching for representatives worldwide. The emails are not being sent from any scripts in the sites and all the code appears clean. I have also updated the sites CMS. Would anyone know how to get round this issue? Any help is appreciated!

  Most of the sitemap generators I've found all scan my internal files and base it on that. However using apache and htaccess I have many aliases for things for example: /brand/model/photos/ is empty directory wise, but on the web it relocates it to a zenphoto gallery using htaccess. http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ does What I need, but I'd like to have more control over it and I need it to be dynamic and run weekly or daily. Allow for specific change frequencies based on the file/directory. I also want to be able to make a "pretty" sitemap html file. Counting the photo gallery I have around 300 links, without the photo gallery more like 100. I have MySQL, PHP 5.3 installed.

  I've seen this grid favicon show up on a lot of sites, most of which tend to be for scams like oxytocin accelerator, or make $300 a day posting links to Google type sites. My question is: what is this icon and where does it come from? Is there some organization whose goal is to make terrible websites like this and they associate them with this icon or does it belong to some server software that for some reason scammy sites like to use? Does anybody know the origins of this icon?

I've been able to make the page numbers work by changing page to paged= in the code. I don't know enough about PHP to get the previous/next options to work.   I'm stuck with a crappy digital signage platform that only renders .html and .swf files (and rss feeds) No customization of rss, only way to show something dynamic in a pretty way is to use flash. The question: is there any way to embed javascript in swf files or somehow have facebook and twitter flash plugins? I looked for ready-made swf widgets for the job but didn't find any, if there is any flash widget that serves a facebook and/or twitter feed please give me a link. (sorry if the question is out of context but these things usually run a stripped-down browser to display everything so its pretty much a web page run from a file and not a web server)
