  • List all documents (webparts) and sites using a certain solution in sharepoint 2007

    I would like to uninstall a Sharepoint application template (GroupBoard Workspace to be exact) but I want to make sure nothing currently relies on it. I don't see any functions within stsadm that will tell me this information and I have even tried SPM which would work, but with such a huge site it's tedious to go through every single web and page to see which features are in use. Is there a way (probably with SQL using the id from stsadm -o enumsolutions) to list everything that relies on a template within a given solution, including webparts on custom pages? If this is not possible, what is the best way to check dependencies prior to uninstalling a solution (especially since GBW is not the only one on my axe list.) Note: I know that stsadm -o deletesolution will stop me from removing something that is in use, but I want to see all of the things that are using a given solution.

  • Resolving TFS_SCHEMA_VERSION Errors In Team Foundation Server 2010 Collection Databases

    I recently backed up a Team Foundation Server 2010 project collection database and restored it onto another server. All of that went well, until I tried to use the restored database on the new server. As it turns out, the old server was running the Release Candidate of TFS 2010 and the new server is running the RTM version of TFS 2010. I ended up with an error message shown on the new server's Team Web Access site about the project collection's TFS_SCHEMA_VERSION property not containing the appropriate value. As it turns out, TFS_SCHEMA_VERSION is an extended property on the project collection database. I ran the following SQL script against the project collection database restored onto the new server: EXEC [Tfs_DefaultCollection].sys.sp_dropextendedproperty @name=N'TFS_PRODUCT_VERSION' GO EXEC [Tfs_DefaultCollection].sys.sp_addextendedproperty @name=N'TFS_PRODUCT_VERSION', @value=N'10.0.30319.1' GO EXEC [Tfs_DefaultCollection].sys.sp_dropextendedproperty @name=N'TFS_SCHEMA_VERSION' GO EXEC [Tfs_DefaultCollection].sys.sp_addextendedproperty @name=N'TFS_SCHEMA_VERSION', @value=N'Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010 (RTM)' GO Now, all is well. I can now navigate to http://newserver:8080/tfs/ and see the restored project collection and its contents.

  • Foundation CSS Framework, how to change triangle on accodion [migrated]

    I'm using foundation framework for the first time and for the most part everything is going smoothly. I am however having some trouble with the accordion in that I need to change the open/close indicator triangle that is in use. You can see it in the docs here. I've looked through the css and found the section with the accordion on foundation.css at lines 709-719 but there is no image to change or adjust. I would like to change this icon to the one in my psd, but just can't figure out where. See attached screenshot for what needs to be changed. I know how to make changes, in this case I just can't find where to make the change.

  • Data Connection Library in SharePoint Server 2010

    What is a Data Connection Library in SharePoint Server 2010? A Data Connection Library in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 is a library that can contain two kinds of data connections: an Office Data Connection (ODC) file or a Universal Data Connection (UDC) file. Microsoft InfoPath 2010 uses data connections that comply with the Universal Data Connection (UDC) file schema and typically have either a *.udcx or *.xml file name extension. Data sources described by these data connections are stored on the server and can be used in standard form templates and browser-enabled form templates. How to create a SharePoint Server Data Connection Library? 1. Browse to a SharePoint Server 2010 site on which you have at least Design permissions. If you are on the root site, create a new site before you continue with the next step. 2. On the Site Actions menu, click More Options. 3. On the Create page, click Library under Filter By, and then click Data Connection Library. 4. On the right side of the Create page, type a name for the library, and then click the Create button. 5. Copy the URL of the new data connection library. How to create a new data connection file in InfoPath? 1. Open InfoPath Designer 2010, click Blank Form, and then click Design Form. 2. On the Data tab, click Data Connections, and then click Add. 3. In the Data Connection Wizard, click Create a new connection to, click Receive data, and then click Next. 4. Click the kind of data source that you are connecting to, such as Database, Web service, or SharePoint library or list, and then click Next. 5.   • Weird routing issue (updated)

    I just updated the route tables due to a mistake on my part. I am working on getting networking working correctly on a cluster of 14 virtual servers at a customer site. 11 of them work fine for routing and 3 don't work correctly for their administrative network (172.28.56.0). All are running Windows Web Server 2008R2. Default gateway is set on the production network (172.28.58.0) and not on the administrative network (handled with persistent static routes).     Hi! I created a report in VS using a shared data source which is connected to a sharepoint list. In the report I created a dataset with a SOAP call to the data source so I get the result from the sharepoint list in a table. this is the soap call <Query> <SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction> <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems"> <Parameters> <Parameter Name="listName"> <DefaultValue>{BD8D39B7-FA0B-491D-AC6F-EC9B0978E0CE}</DefaultValue> </Parameter> <Parameter Name="viewName"> <DefaultValue>{E2168426-804F-4836-9BE4-DC5F8D08A54F}</DefaultValue> </Parameter> <Parameter Name="rowLimit"> <DefaultValue>9999</DefaultValue> </Parameter> </Parameters> </Method> <ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="True">*</ElementPath> </Query> THis works fine, I have a result which I can show in a report, but I want to have the ability to select a parameter to filter the result on. I have created a parameter and when I preview the Report I see the dropdownbox which I can use to make a selection from the Title field, when I do this it still shows the first record, obviously it doens't work yet (DUH!) because I need to create a query somewhere, But! I have no idea where, I tried to include <Where> <Eq> <FieldRef Name="ows_Title" /> <Value Type="Text">testValue</Value> </Eq> </Where> in the the soap request but it didn't worked... I've searched teh intarwebz but couldn't find any simliar problems... kinda stuck now...any thoughts on this?   • Sharepoint/WSS Reporting Services Integration woes

    after a number of failed attempts i seem to have successfully installed the Reporting services add-in to my WSS farm. However, I seem to be missing most of the enhanced functionality eg no report library template, no report center site template. the only additional functionality available is the report viewer web part. background: 2 server WSS 3.0 farm with CA (Central admin) WFE (web front end) and reporting services addin installed on 1, and SQL05 SP2 with Reporting services (RS) and all databases installed on other. I have a VM environment set up and have rolled this back and repeated a number of times. I have configured RS within CA and activated 'Report Server INtegration Feature'. Within the 'site settings' I have a 'Reporting Services' heading with a 'manage shared schedules' item/link, not sure if there should be other options? I was of the understanding that to view reports within sharepoint i could either create a new site using the 'report center' template or add a report library to an existing site, neither of which seems available I am at a loss as to what to do, as all online information seems to do with dealing with installation issues/errors, which i seem to have eventually got past

  • How to Setup Sharepoint Extranet to authenticate against a dmz AD

    I have a web app which is extended to extranet for our clients to access. We have setup a different AD server and domain for dmz and clients have to be authenticated against that domain. I'm little confused about the setup especially what all web.config files I have to update. Do I have to update the web.config file for Central admin site and the extended web app. According to this blog I need to do update both, but as soon as I make the changes in the web.config for central admin, central admin site stops working. Here is what I added to the central admin web.config file between /Sharepoint and system.web I have this <connectionStrings> <add name="DMZConnectionString" connectionString= "LDAP://dmz.xxx.com:389/OU=Clients,DC=dmz,DC=xxx,DC=com "/> Between system.web and securityPolicy <membership defaultProvider=”DMZADProvider“> <providers> <add name="DMZADProvider" connectionStringName="DMZConnectionString" connectionUsername="DMZ\ldapUser" connectionPassword="Password" enableSearchMethods="true" attributeMapUsername="userPrincipalName" type="System.Web.Security.ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> </providers> </membership> I know the connectionusername and password works becuase I use the same in SSP for importing profiles. Any idea what might be causing the error?

  • Sharepoint Central Administration stuck / high CPU usage

    I'm using WSS 3 and I recently added a new web application to my SharePoint Server. After adding it, I wasn't able to open the Central Administration site. I also noticed that there was a w3wp.exe error (Event ID 1000) in the Event Viewer. The situation now is that the w3wp.exe process is hovering around 50% CPU usage continuously. I installed a program called IIS Peek, and it shows continuous GET requests on the Central Administration site; this happens even if I stop the Central Administration site in IIS. The IP addresses identified in the GET request is my workstation, which is what I used to attempt to access Central Administration after I created the new web application. Can someone explain what's going on and how I might fix it? It seems as if my computer tried to access Central Administration and then it hung, but the page requests that were happening at the time are somehow continuing over and over again. So my two problems are the inability to access Central Administration, and the CPU Usage of w3wp.exe, which I'm assuming are two symptoms of the same problem. I'd like to know if there's anything I can do besides restarting IIS, because we have clients accessing other sites on this server. Thanks.

  • Having trouble mapping Sharepoint document library as a Network Place

    I am using Office 365, Sharepoint Online 2013. Using Internet Explorer these are the steps I have taken: ticked the keep me signed in on the portal.microsoftonline.com page. It redirects me to Godaddy login page because Office 365 was purchased through them. I have added these sites to trusted sites (as well as every page in the process) and chose auto logon in Internet explorer. Once on the document library I open as explorer and copy the address as text. I go to My Computer and right click to add a network place and paste in the document library address. It successfully adds the library as a network place 30% of the time. I can do this same process 3 times in a row and it will fail the first 2 times and then succeeds. It works for a little while and then I get an error that the DNS cannot be found. I need multiple users in our organization to be able to access this document library as if it was a mapped network drive on our local network. Is there an easier way to do this? I may just sync using the One Drive app but thought that direct access to the files without worrying about users keeping their files synced.

    Using WSS 3.0, we have noticed that while users can be restricted to access only certain sub-sites of a site collection through permission settings, the same doesn't seem to be true for web services, such as /_vti_bin/Lists.asmx! Here's our experimental setup: http://formal/test : 'test' site collection - site1 : first site in test site collection, user1 is member - site2 : second site in test site collection, user2 is member With this setup, using a web browser user2 can: - access http://formal/test/site2/Default.aspx - cannot access http://formal/test/site1/Default.aspx That's what is expected. To our surprise however, using the code below, user2 can retrieve the names of the lists in site1, something he should not have access to! Is that by (unfortunate) design, or is there a configuration setting we've missed that would prevent user2 from retrieving the names of lists in site1? Is this going to be different in SharePoint 2010?
