  • PHP: Cyrillic characters not displayed correctly

    Recently I switched hosting from one provider to the other and I have problems displaying Cyrillic characters. The characters which are read from the database are displayed correctly, but characters which are hardcoded in the php file aren't (they are displayed as question marks). The files which contain the php source code are saved in utf-8 form. Help anybody?

  • Windows PE - Where and how are strings stored if not in resources?

    Usually strings (like content/titles of dialog boxes) in .exe files are stored in some sort of resources. But in some recent exes I disassembled/resource-inspected I couldn't find any resources containing the string but it was somehow hardcoded with db's into the program source code. How can I extract and modify strings directly located in the program? I assume those are just the equivalent to const char*s in C++? Why would someone not "outsource" the contents of dialog boxes, menus, etc?

    Hi I'm using struts 2 and I'd like to read some custom-defined parameters (global variables), preferably from web.xml or some custom ".properties" file (i.e. not hardcoded in the Java sources). This problem has been driving me mad for the past half hour as I can't google any reasonable solution. What is the best way to do this?     Basically, I want to have a database that's lightweight and I won't need to install a million other things on my clients computers for them to access this. I just need a simple method of reading and writing values so that they're not hardcoded into the program. I could do MySQL (which is what I'm very familiar with), but it doesn't need to be making calls remotely. I would have less than 10 fields and one table, if that matters. Thanks!

    Hi all, I have a query factory that takes a column name as an attribute in order to search for that column. Right now I'm passing the name of the column as a string, so it's kind of hardcoded. If the name of the column changes in the entity's annotation, that "hidden dependency" breaks up. Is there a way in jpa to retrieve the real name of the column and have it available at compile time, so I can use it in queries?

    I have a Java-application that loads data from a legacy file format into an SQLite-Database using JDBC. If the database file specified does not exist, it is supposed to create a new one. Currently the schema for the database is hardcoded in the application. I would much rather have it in a separate file as an SQL-Script, but apparently there is now easy way to execute an SQL-Script though JDBC. Is there any other way or a pattern to achieve something like this?

    I am using c#.NET 2.0 to execute DOS commands to ftp a file. All works except for 1 thing, in the cmd file I call, it runs a PUT statement. Right now the put statement has a hardcoded local file path. I need to specify a dynamic path. I've tried put %~dp0\myfile.DTL myfile.dtl but it says it can't find the file.
