  • What is the relationship between domNode and htmlelement?

    Hello, I am confused about the two terms. What is the difference in browser-side javascript programming? I use dojo as framework. And there is only the concept of domNode. But browser debugger always told me something as htmlelement. Are they just the same thing with different names, or with some subtle differences? Thanks.

  • MVC using ODP.NET getting ORA-01840

    I am writing a simple MVC Application using ODP.NET. I am trying to call a Pl/Sql proc that inserts a record. I have verified that the web form retrieves the form data successfully and calls the AddCountry method below, which in turns calls the stored proc, spAddCountry, after populating all of the parms. ORA-01840 conn.Close(); } Just to verify that the flow of the program is working, I tried removing the date parm "pInsertedOn" from the pl/sql and from the parm list above, and everything worked fine. I know I am going off of the rails with the date. Can someone tell me how to pass a date to Oracle from an MVC WebForm? Is there some sort of type cast needed? I would really appreciate an example too. Thanks so much! ps, I did try changing the parm type to Varchar2 in the Pl/Sql and doing some conversions myself in the Pl/Sql, the automatic MVC binder was getting in my way, forcing the property of paramInsertedOn.OracleType to DateTime. I tried forcing it to Varchar2, but no luck there either...

    Hi. There is an excellent website that I would like to emulate some of the characteristics of in a website that I hope to develop. (I do not intend my site being in competition with them - mine would be more of a social networking site). Can anyone tell me if it is possible to detect which script and platform is being used on www.shoutlife.com?     This is not a programming question but more of an operating system question Right now I'm trying to learn what exactly Double paging means. I see two different terms, double paging on disk and double paging in memory. Apparently this problem arises when we introduce a buffer cache to store disk blocks when doing File I/O But I'm not really sure what exactly this term means. If anybody could specify it would be very helpful.

Like for example, my daemon program is running in the background, then when I make a keypress event, my deamon app will do something. What implementation should I do to create this app?   • How to create *.idx subtitle files

    I am trying to play movies from a USB drive on my DVD player. I have subtitles for different languages for a movie. (filename.en.srt, filename.fr.srt etc) When I place all the *.srt files in the same directory as the movie file, the DVD player recognises only the first one. However, if there is only one *.sub file which contains all the language subtitles, and an indexer *.idx file, then the DVD player is able to recognise all the language subtitles. Can I create an *.idx file manually? Or Is there any software which allows me to create an idx file that indexes multiple *.srt files or combines them?

    I have a bad case of carpal tunnel so I'm looking for an editor that would make my Java programming less painful (literally!). Does anyone have any recommendations for tools that you can add to Eclipse, Netbeans or other IDEs to produce some of the repetitive code that's common in Java syntax?     I need to run a windows command n times within a bat script file. I know how to do this in various programming languages but cannot manage to get it right on the windows command line :-( I would expect something like either for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { // do something } or even this (though not entirely seriously) 1.upto(100, { // do something }) Thanks! EDIT I can write a program in java, perl, c or whatever that will generate a bat script that looks like this for %%N in (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12) do echo %%N and so on. Or even "better": echo 1 echo 2 echo 3 echo 4 echo 5 echo 6 echo 7 echo 8 echo 9 echo 10 echo 11 echo 12 and then execute it... But the thing is that I need a concise way to specify a range of numbers to iterate through within the script. Thanks!

The CRM software I am running on this server requires this upgrade or else I probably wouldn't even perform it, because it seems like it's going to be perhaps trickier than I hoped it would be.   • Creating a Virtual Webcam Device for OS X

    I am looking for a solution to create a "virtual" webcam device under OS X (that acts just as a normal hardware webcam, but the application has full control over what to output).
