  Hi everyone, I am working with jsp/servlet project and i have to complete the module of access management to my jsps since I have more than one user with different profile. I defined a table in my database wich resume the profil and the url permitted like that: id_profil :1 url : http://localhost/...xyz.jsp id page 1 Now I am trying to let the menu modified appropriately to the id_profil of the logged user. So there are pages allowed in one profile but must be hidden to others. I have no idea since now how to realize this and it is so important for me. thanks for your help.

  I'm just learning the WCF entity framework (and .net in general), and I'm running into a problem specifying lock hints in an embedded SQL query. I'm trying to specify a query that has lock hints in it (e.g., "SELECT * FROM xyz WITH(XLOCK, ROWLOCK)") and I keep getting errors from the runtime that the query syntax is not valid. The query works if I enter it directly into SQL Server. Is there some special syntax for lock hints when creating IQueryable result sets, or do I have to somehow mess with the transaction isolation level (probably not possible, as I need to specify different lock hints on a subquery within the main query).

• Objective-C and Cocoa : crash when calling a class function without entering the function

  Hello, I have a class function (declared and implemented) in a class MyUtils : + (NSString*) theFunction:(NSString*)param1 param2:(NSString*)param2 param3:(NSString*)param3; When I call this function, with : NSString *item = [MyUtils theFunction:@"abc" param2:aPreviousNSString param3:@"xyz"; my app crashes. In the debugger I have a breakpoint on the first action of the "theFunction" function. And this breakpoint is never reached. If I replace the call by NSString *item = @"youyou"; then everything is ok. Forcing a retain on aPreviousNSString before the call does not change anything. Do you have an idea of what is happening ?   In OpenGL, you can actually draw text with an XYZ position, and it will appear at that location, but in a fixed size. If anyone's played MechWarrior 2, they used it there for nav points. The text had a 3d position, but it always appeared a fixed size. The nav point was actually a bit of text at that exact point in space. Other than that the ability to place 3d text was pretty much useless.. you'd always want text to be 2d, righT? I'm finally in a position where I want this feature. I have these points in space that I need to assign text information to, i.e. I need to draw text at a fixed size but with a 3d position. Can this be done from DirectX?

I need it to facilitate a dynamic getMethod call Class parameterType = Class.forName(class_name); object.setProperty(field name, field value, parameterType); the set property method would then get the correct method and set the specified property, however I cant get a method which has int as parameter type without using Interger.TYPE

• Transitioning from C++ to C#

  I am very experienced in C and C++ but am having problems finding current opportunities. I decided to switch to C# but noticed that while the syntax is very similar, the programming styles are very different (we don't have IEnumerable etc in C). So the problem I am having now is having 20 years of experience but is only a junior when it comes to interviewing for a C# job. Most of the problems are me not being able to answer questions like 1) How do you do XYZ in Sql Server? 2) What's the use of in Spring.NET In other words, the phone interviewers don;t care if you know DB programming or not - they want to know if you know SQL Server. I am frustrated because the guys who are doing the interviews seem to be so narrow sighted in knowing ONLY C#, .NET and SQL Server, that I don't know how to get past them.

I guess that it makes no sense to store those on a separate table called advantages, because it will never be used to anything else despite display, and I fill it as too overkill. So I was thinking about creating a varchar255 field on this product table, and allow values to be inserted like: Very nice;Very good;Very cool On a free-form text input field. Then split those on a php array. My question is: Is it out there, a better approach ?

  I am building music app, where user can do several tasks including but not limited to listening song, like song, recommend song to a friend and extra. currently I have this model: class Activity(models.Model): activity = models.TextField() user = models.ForeignKey(User) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) so far I thought about two solutions. 1. saving a string to database. e.g "you listened song xyz" 2. create a dictionary about the activity and save to the database using pickle or json. e.g. dict_ = {"activity_type":"listening", "song":song_obj} I am leaning to the second implementation, but not quite sure. so what do you think about those two methods? do you know better way to achieve the goal?

  Hi, I'm looking to create an extension for the leading browsers (firefox, safari and ie). Its rather simple, and I'm looking for the most efficient way to go about this. I need to get the hostname of the current site the user is on, and if it matches a certain parameter(eg, mysite.org), I'll need to append to the link some extra data and refresh to the new link. What is the simplest way to go about this? (I don't want to go in the direction of a bookmarklet - since this would require the user to click.   I am writing a script that executes and write everything to the file here is example, I stored the complete command in the variable 'Command' , Command = "ftp ftp.xyz.com 21 " & vbCRLF and then executing it in command prompt, shell.Run "%comspec% /c FTP " & Command & " > " & E:/abc.txt, 0, TRUE but when this program execute it won't write anything to the text file because this is an incomplete command, this command on execution prompt user to input username and password of FTP, how can i do this , that my programm automatically input username and password when prompt and then write everything to file ?

• Git svn - no changes, no branches (except master), rebase/info is not working

  I know that similar questions were asked before, but I think my is a little bit different, so please don't point me to existing threads. I'm migrating our old svn repo to git. I did git svn clone path --authors-file abc.txt and everything seemend legit to me. Then I did git remote add origin xyz and git push --all origin and it also worked. I created this repo as test one, with only me having access to both local repo and origin. No changes were made in project held on this repo, nothing to commit, no pushing and so on. There is also only one branch, because someone initialized svn years ago without creating proper folder structure (branches, trunk, tags). Meanwhile someone pushed their work to svn, so I tried to git svn fetch (which worked), and git svn rebase which didn't, giving me error: Unable to determine upstream SVN information from working tree history Is there any reason why git svn decided to stop working?

  I would like to develop a command-line program that can process and give "help" for subcommands. To be concrete, say I have a single script called "cgent" and I would like to have subcommands "abc", "def", and "xyz" execute and accept the rest of the sys.args for processing by optparse. cgent abc [options] cgent help abc .... All of this is straightforward if I hard-code the subcommand names. However, I would like to be able to continue to add subcommands by adding a class or module (?). This is similar to the idea that is used by web frameworks for adding controllers, for example. I have tried digging through pylons to see if I can recreate what is done there, but I have not unravelled the logic. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks, Sean

  I want to build a site where people can create their personal websites quickly. All their websites will be hosted on my single web application (i.e. there will be only one database which contains info of all the websites). Each person will have an account where he can customize his website (template, content etc.). They can access their website from .mysite.com or mysite.com/xyz. I should be able to add different modules frequently, which will immediately reflect in all the websites created through my site. In the original string I got, I can replace the string such as to something else. BUT, in the same original string, if I want to replace a much long string such as the following, it won’t work. • PHP to make vars and values part of array

  I currently have this function to search and replace in a text file. // Input $ect = array('Visssa', 'Lisssa', 'her'); // Placeholders in the file $put = array('lname', 'fname', 'hisher'); // Replace the placeholders $oput = str_replace($put, $ct, 'tmpfile.txt'); This is not the full program but the idea is replace the values found in tmpfile.txt with the ones found in the $etc array. And it works flawlessly. But, what I need to do is get all passed vars (get/post) and then make the arrays so that the var is the value to replace and the value is the value to replace it with. So, if I sent the url http://xyz.com/?lname=tom&ogre=yes All instances of lname in the file would be replaces with tom and all instances of ogre would be replaced with yes. So somehow it just gets any/all variables passed in get/post and then the arrays showed above would cause the var to be replaced by the value in the file.

• Good way to send a large file over a network in C#?

  I am trying to build an application that can request files from a service running on another machine in the network. These files can be fairly large (500mb + at times). I was looking into sending it via TCP but I'm worried that it may require that the entire file be stored in memory. There will probably only be one client. Copying to a shared directory isn't acceptable either. The only communication required is for the client to say "gimme xyz" and the server to send it (and whatever it takes to ensure this happens correctly). Any suggestions?
