  • java.lang.NumberFormatException: unable to parse '' as integer one more time

    - by Quzziy
    I will take two numbers from user, but this number from EditText must be converted to int. I think it should be working, but I still have problem with compilation code in Android Studio. CatLog show error in line with: int wiek = Integer.parseInt(wiekEditText.getText().toString()); Below is my full Android code: public class MyActivity extends ActionBarActivity { int Wynik; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_my); int Tmax, RT; EditText wiekEditText = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.inWiek); EditText tspoczEditText = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.inTspocz); int wiek = Integer.parseInt(wiekEditText.getText().toString()); int tspocz = Integer.parseInt(tspoczEditText.getText().toString()); Tmax = 220 - wiek; RT = Tmax - tspocz; Wynik = 70*RT/100 + tspocz; final EditText tempWiekEdit = wiekEditText; TabHost tabHost = (TabHost) findViewById(R.id.tabHost); //Do TabHost'a z layoutu tabHost.setup(); TabHost.TabSpec tabSpec = tabHost.newTabSpec("Calc"); tabSpec.setContent(R.id.Calc); tabSpec.setIndicator("Calc"); tabHost.addTab(tabSpec); tabSpec = tabHost.newTabSpec("Hints"); tabSpec.setContent(R.id.Hints); tabSpec.setIndicator("Hints"); tabHost.addTab(tabSpec); final Button Btn = (Button) findViewById(R.id.Btn); Btn.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(),"blablabla"+ "Wynik",Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); wiekEditText.addTextChangedListener(new TextWatcher() { @Override public void beforeTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int count, int after) { } @Override public void onTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int before, int count) { Btn.setEnabled(!(tempWiekEdit.getText().toString().trim().isEmpty())); } @Override public void afterTextChanged(Editable s) { } }); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { // Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present. getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.my, menu); return true; } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { // Handle action bar item clicks here. The action bar will // automatically handle clicks on the Home/Up button, so long // as you specify a parent activity in AndroidManifest.xml. int id = item.getItemId(); if (id == R.id.action_settings) { return true; } return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item); } }

  • c++ Array passing dilemma

    - by Thomas
    Hi, I am writing a function that takes a string, string pointer and an int. The function splits the string based on a set of rules and puts each token into an array. I need to return the array out of the function with the number of elements in the int variable etc. I am stuck as to how I return the array as I can not use auto other wise it is destroyed and I am reluctant to use new as I feel this is patchy. I have other ideas on how to go about this but would like to see how other people go about this first. I could also be wrong and it could be possible to pass an auto out of an array. I can also not use vectors so there goes a copy constructor.

  • Get the size in 'px' instead of percents.

    - by Andrei Ciobanu
    Hello, I have to write a javascript function that is returning the current size (in px) of a div. Unfortunately the div has its weight specified in % instead of px. The style of the div: position: absolute; width: 100%; height: 100%; And my width returning function: function getTableWidth(tableId){ var tabWidth = document.getElementById('pt1::tabb').children[0].children[0].style.width; return tabWidth; } tabWidth is '100%'. Is it possible to return the px width instead of the % width ? NOTE: I don't have access to any html/css , as the page I am working on is generated through a complex framework. I can only embed javascript.

    - by Sarah

Thanks in advance.

  • Temp modification of NHibernate Entities

    - by Marty Trenouth
    Is there a way I can tell Nhibernate to ignore any future changes on a set of objects retrieved using it? public ReturnedObject DoIt() { List<MySuperDuperObject> awesomes = repository.GetMyAwesomenesObjects(); var sp = new SuperParent(); BusinessObjectWithoutNHibernateAccess.ProcessThese(i, awesomes,sp) repository.save(sp); return i; } public ReturnedObject FakeIt() { List<MySuperDuperObject> awesomes = repository.GetMyAwesomenesObjects(); var sp = new SuperParent(); // should something go here to tell NHibernate to ignore changes to awesomes and sp? return BusinessObjectWithoutNHibernateAccess.ProcessThese(awesomes,sp) }

  • Will I use HtmlDocument even I want to parse the HTML string using HtmlAglityPack ?

    - by skhan
    Hi everyone, I'm working in C#. I'm trying to extract the first instance of img tag from a HTML string (which is actually a post data). This is my code: private string GrabImage(string htmlContent) { String firstImage; HtmlAgilityPack.HtmlDocument htmlDoc = new HtmlAgilityPack.HtmlDocument(); htmlDoc.LoadHtml(htmlContent); HtmlAgilityPack.HtmlNode imageNode = htmlDoc.DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode("//img"); if (imageNode != null) { return firstImage = imageNode.ToString(); } else return firstImage=" "; } But it gets null in htmlDoc, will I use the HtmlDocument type even if I'm trying to parse the HTML from a string ? P.S btw is it the correct way of grabbing the first instance of image tag from my HTML string?

  • Is there a good (standalone) PHPDoc parser class or function in PHP?

    - by Kris
    Hi folks, I'm looking for some method of converting a PHP Docblock (as used for generating documentation by tools like Doxygen) into a structure I can inspect in PHP. For example, I want to parse the following lines: /** * Multiply two values * @CHECKME * * @author someone * @created eons ago * * @param integer $x * @param integer $x * * @return integer */ function multiply($x, $y) { return $x * $y; } Into something similar to: array( 'author' = 'someone' ,'created' = 'eons ago' ,'param' = array( 'integer $x' ,'integer $y' ) ,'_flags' = array( '@CHECKME' ) ); I explicitly cannot use PEAR or any such library, it has to be relatively standalone. Any given solution that is better than using a bunch of regexes after stripping away comment outline would be awesome.

  • template; Point<2, double>; Point<3, double>

    - by Oops
    Hi, I want to create my own Point struct it is only for purposes of learning C++. I have the following code: template <int dims, typename T> struct Point { T X[dims]; Point(){} Point( T X0, T X1 ) { X[0] = X0; X[1] = X1; } Point( T X0, T X1, T X2 ) { X[0] = X0; X[1] = X1; X[2] = X2; } Point<dims, int> toint() { //how to distinguish between 2D and 3D ??? Point<dims, int> ret = Point<dims, int>( (int)X[0], (int)X[1]); return ret; } std::string str(){ //how to distinguish between 2D and 3D ??? std::stringstream s; s << "{ X0: " << X[0] << " | X1: " << X[1] << " }"; return s.str(); } }; int main(void) { Point<2, double> p2d = Point<2, double>( 12.3, 45.6 ); Point<3, double> p3d = Point<3, double>( 12.3, 45.6, 78.9 ); Point<2, int> p2i = p2d.toint(); //OK Point<3, int> p3i = p3d.toint(); //m??? std::cout << p2d.str() << std::endl; //OK std::cout << p3d.str() << std::endl; //m??? std::cout << p2i.str() << std::endl; //m??? std::cout << p3i.str() << std::endl; //m??? char c; std::cin >> c; return 0; } of couse until now the output is not what I want. my questions is: how to take care of the dimensions of the Point (2D or 3D) in member functions of the Point? many thanks in advance Oops

  • Can a function/class know the context from where it is being invoked or instantiated?

    - by vrode
    Let's take this class as example and assume that get_context() returns the source of the call: class A { public function __construct( ) { if( get_class( get_context( ) ) == B ) { return true; } else { return false; } } } class B { function __construct( ) { $a = new A( ); } } $a = new B( ); // returns true, as B is the invoking class of A $a = new A( ); // returns false, as B is invoked outside of any class So, my questions are: 1) can a function know the context that calls it? 2) can a object know context from where it has been instantiated? Or am I dreaming up new features not implementable in PHP?

  • Math Problem With Percentages

    - by TheDarkIn1978
    i'm terrible at math. trust me, you math experts will see why after reading my question. i have an object that is 300px in height. i need to calculate the percentage of that height where 90% = 300px (or the full height), 45% = 150px, 0% = 0px. so essentially, if i ask for 45% of the object's height, it will return 150px, or if i ask for 32% of the object's height, it will return __? i believe this is really basic math, so i apologize in advance.

  • C#: How to unit test a method that relies on another method within the same class?

    - by michael paul
    I have a class similar to the following: public class MyProxy : ClientBase<IService>, IService { public MyProxy(String endpointConfiguration) : base(endpointConfiguration) { } public int DoSomething(int x) { int result = DoSomethingToX(x); //This passes unit testing int result2 = ((IService)this).DoWork(x) //do I have to extract this part into a separate method just //to test it even though it's only a couple of lines? //Do something on result2 int result3 = result2 ... return result3; } int IService.DoWork(int x) { return base.Channel.DoWork(x); } } The problem lies in the fact that when testing I don't know how to mock the result2 item without extracting the part that gets result3 using result2 into a separate method. And, because it is unit testing I don't want to go that deep as to test what result2 comes back as... I'd rather mock the data somehow... like, be able to call the function and replace just that one call.

  • Using a message class static method taking in an action to wrap Try/Catch

    - by Chris Marisic
    I have a Result object that lets me pass around a List of event messages and I can check whether an action was successful or not. I've realized I've written this code in alot of places Result result; try { //Do Something ... //New result is automatically a success for not having any errors in it result = new Result(); } catch (Exception exception) { //Extension method that returns a Result from the exception result = exception.ToResult(); } if(result.Success) .... What I'm considering is replacing this usage with public static Result CatchException(Action action) { try { action(); return new Result(); } catch (Exception exception) { return exception.ToResult(); } } And then use it like var result = Result.CatchException(() => _model.Save(something)); Does anyone feel there's anything wrong with this or that I'm trading reusability for obscurity?

  • ASP MVC ViewData from one view to another (Html.Encode())

    - by Jacob Huggart
    Hello all, I have a page with a bunch of labels and checkboxes on it. On this page, the labels need to be easily customizable after the project is deployed. So I made all of the labels in this style: Html.Encode(ViewData["lblText"]) And I added a button on the page called "Edit Button Labels" that will only be seen by admins. When that button is clicked, I would like to load another view that simply contains a table of two columns. One column needs to contain the current labels and the other should have text boxes for the user to enter new labels. Then, once any changes have been made, I need to permanently change the "lblText" for each label on the original page. I have tried passing viewdata and tempdata to the "Edit Button Labels" view using both return view() and return RedirectToAction() with no success. Am I missing something minor or is there a better way to do this?

  • Writing Strings to files in python

    - by Leif Andersen
    I'm getting the following error when trying to write a string to a file in pythion: Traceback (most recent call last): File "export_off.py", line 264, in execute save_off(self.properties.path, context) File "export_off.py", line 244, in save_off primary.write(file) File "export_off.py", line 181, in write variable.write(file) File "export_off.py", line 118, in write file.write(self.value) TypeError: must be bytes or buffer, not str I basically have a string class, which contains a string: class _off_str(object): __slots__ = 'value' def __init__(self, val=""): self.value=val def get_size(self): return SZ_SHORT def write(self,file): file.write(self.value) def __str__(self): return str(self.value) Furthermore, I'm calling that class like this: def write(self, file): for variable in self.variables: variable.write(file) I have no idea what is going on. I've seen other python programs writing strings to files, so why can't this one? Thank you very much for your help.

  • Retrieving Large Lists of Objects Using Java EE

    - by hallidave
    Is there a generally-accepted way to return a large list of objects using Java EE? For example, if you had a database ResultSet that had millions of objects how would you return those objects to a (remote) client application? Another example -- that is closer to what I'm actually doing -- would be to aggregate data from hundreds of sources, normalize it, and incrementally transfer it to a client system as a single "list". Since all the data cannot fit in memory, I was thinking that a combination of a stateful SessionBean and some sort of custom Iterator that called back to the server would do the trick. How have you successfully solved this problem in the past?

  • Problem with optional arguments in C #defines

    - by imikedaman
    Hi, I'm having a problem with optional arguments in #define statements in C, or more specifically with gcc 4.2: bool func1(bool tmp) { return false; } void func2(bool tmp, bool tmp2) {} #define CALL(func, tmp, ...) func(tmp, ##__VA_ARGS__) int main() { // this compiles CALL(func2, CALL(func1, false), false); // this fails with: Implicit declaration of function 'CALL' CALL(func2, false, CALL(func1, false)); } That's obviously a contrived example, but does show the problem. Does anyone know how I can get the optional arguments to "resolve" correctly? Additional information: If I remove the ## before _VA_ARGS_, and do something like this: bool func2(bool tmp, bool tmp2) { return false; } #define CALL(func, tmp, ...) func(tmp, __VA_ARGS__) int main() { CALL(func2, false, CALL(func2, false, false)); } That compiles, but it no longer works with zero arguments since it would resolve to func(tmp, )
