  • Need to interface to a C++ DLL

    - by Pedro
    Hi, I need to call a C++ API from C#. I have been able to call the API, but the char[] parameters do not seem to be marshalling correctly. Here's the C++ signature: Create2ptModel(double modelPowers[2], double modelDacs[2], int pclRange[2], double targetPowers[32], double *dacAdjustFactor, unsigned short powerRampFactors[32], BOOL bPCLDacAdjusted[32], char calibrationModel[32], char errMsg[1024]) and this is how I am trying to call it from C# [DllImport("AlgorithmsLib.dll", EntryPoint = "_Create2ptModel@36", ExactSpelling = true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall, CharSet = CharSet.Auto)] private static extern AlgorithmStatus Create2ptModel( double[] modelPowers, double[] modelDacs, int[] pclRange, double[] targetPowers, ref double dacAdjustFactor, ushort[] powerRampFactors, bool[] bPCLDacAdjusted, /**/char[] calibrationModel, char[] errMsg/**/); Any idea of how I can marshall it correctly? Thanks in advance!

  • Can SQLite file copied successfully on the data folder of an unrooted android device ?

    - by student
    I know that in order to access the data folder on the device, it needs to be rooted. However, if I just want to copy the database from my assets folder to the data folder on my device, will the copying process works on an unrooted phone? The following is my Database Helper class. From logcat, I can verify that the methods call to copyDataBase(), createDataBase() and openDataBase() are returned successfully. However, I got this error message android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: no such table: TABLE_NAME: when my application is executing rawQuery. I'm suspecting the database file is not copied successfully (cannot be too sure as I do not have access to data folder), yet the method call to copyDatabase() are not throwing any exception. What could it be? Thanks. ps: My device is still unrooted, I hope it is not the main cause of the error. public DatabaseHelper(Context context) { super(context, DB_NAME, null, 1); this.myContext = context; } public void createDataBase() throws IOException{ boolean dbExist = checkDataBase(); String s = new Boolean(dbExist).toString(); Log.d("dbExist", s ); if(dbExist){ //do nothing - database already exist Log.d("createdatabase","DB exists so do nothing"); }else{ this.getReadableDatabase(); try { copyDataBase(); Log.d("copydatabase","Successful return frm method call!"); } catch (IOException e) { throw new Error("Error copying database"); } } } private boolean checkDataBase(){ File dbFile = new File(DB_PATH + DB_NAME); return dbFile.exists(); } private void copyDataBase() throws IOException{ //Open your local db as the input stream InputStream myInput = null; myInput = myContext.getAssets().open(DB_NAME); Log.d("copydatabase","InputStream successful!"); // Path to the just created empty db String outFileName = DB_PATH + DB_NAME; //Open the empty db as the output stream OutputStream myOutput = new FileOutputStream(outFileName); //transfer bytes from the inputfile to the outputfile byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; int length; while ((length = myInput.read(buffer))>0){ myOutput.write(buffer, 0, length); } //Close the streams myOutput.flush(); myOutput.close(); myInput.close(); } public void openDataBase() throws SQLException{ //Open the database String myPath = DB_PATH + DB_NAME; myDataBase = SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase(myPath, null, SQLiteDatabase.OPEN_READONLY); } /* @Override public synchronized void close() { if(myDataBase != null) myDataBase.close(); super.close(); }*/ public void close() { // NOTE: openHelper must now be a member of CallDataHelper; // you currently have it as a local in your constructor if (myDataBase != null) { myDataBase.close(); } } @Override public void onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) { } @Override public void onUpgrade(SQLiteDatabase db, int oldVersion, int newVersion) { } }

  • C++: Question about freeing memory

    - by Martijn Courteaux
    On Learn C++, they wrote this to free memory: int *pnValue = new int; // dynamically allocate an integer *pnValue = 7; // assign 7 to this integer delete pnValue; pnValue = 0; My question is: "Is the last statement needed to free the memory correctly, completly?" I thought that the pointer *pnValue was still on the stack and new doesn't make any sense to the pointer. And if it is on the stack it will be cleaned up when the application leaves the scope (where the pointer is declared in), isn't it?

  • Java using enum with switch statement

    - by MisterSquonk
    I've looked at various Q&As on SO similar to this question but haven't found a solution. What I have is an enum which represents different ways to view a TV Guide... static enum guideView { GUIDE_VIEW_SEVEN_DAY, GUIDE_VIEW_NOW_SHOWING, GUIDE_VIEW_ALL_TIMESLOTS } ...when the user changes the view an event handler receives an int from 0-2 and I'd like to do something like this... // 'which' is an int from 0-2 switch (which) { case NDroid.guideView.GUIDE_VIEW_SEVEN_DAY: ... break; } I'm used to C# enums and select/case statements which would allow something like the above and I know Java does things differently but I just can't make sense of what I need to do. Am I going to have to resort to if statements? There will likely only ever be 3 choices so I could do it but I wondered how it could be done with switch-case in Java.

  • hash table with chaining method program freezing

    - by Justin Carrey
    I am implementing hash table in C using linked list chaining method. The program compiles but when inserting a string in hash table, the program freezes and gets stuck. The program is below: struct llist{ char *s; struct llist *next; }; struct llist *a[100]; void hinsert(char *str){ int strint, hashinp; strint = 0; hashinp = 0; while(*str){ strint = strint+(*str); } hashinp = (strint%100); if(a[hashinp] == NULL){ struct llist *node; node = (struct llist *)malloc(sizeof(struct llist)); node->s = str; node->next = NULL; a[hashinp] = node; } else{ struct llist *node, *ptr; node = (struct llist *)malloc(sizeof(struct llist)); node->s = str; node->next = NULL; ptr = a[hashinp]; while(ptr->next != NULL){ ptr = ptr->next; } ptr->next = node; } } void hsearch(char *strsrch){ int strint1, hashinp1; strint1 = 0; hashinp1 = 0; while(*strsrch){ strint1 = strint1+(*strsrch); } hashinp1 = (strint1%100); struct llist *ptr1; ptr1 = a[hashinp1]; while(ptr1 != NULL){ if(ptr1->s == strsrch){ cout << "Element Found\n"; break; } else{ ptr1 = ptr1->next; } } if(ptr1 == NULL){ cout << "Element Not Found\n"; } } hinsert() is to insert elements into hash and hsearch is to search an element in the hash. Hash function is written inside hinsert() itself. In the main(), what i am initializing all the elements in a[] to be NULL like this: for(int i = 0;i < 100; i++){ a[i] = NULL; } Help is very much appreciated. Thanks !

  • How do I get the sequence of numbers in a sorted-set that are between two integers in clojure?

    - by Greg Rogers
    Say I have a sorted-set of integers, xs, and I want to retrieve all the integers in xs that are [x, y), ie. between x and y. I can do: (select #(and (>= % x) (< % y)) xs) But this is inefficient - O(n) when it could be O(log n), I expect the number of elements returned to be small. Using take-while and drop-while would let me exit once I've reached y, but I still can't jump to x efficiently. I am just learning clojure so here is how I would do it in C++: set<int>::iterator first = xs.lower_bound(x); set<int>::iterator last = xs.lower_bound(y); for (; first != last; ++first) // do something with *first Can I do this in clojure?

  • Template or function arguments as implementation details in doxygen?

    - by Vincent
    In doxygen is there any common way to specify that some C++ template parameters of function parameters are implementation details and should not be specified by the user ? For example, a template parameter used as recursion level counter in metaprogramming technique or a SFINAE parameter in a function ? For example : /// \brief Do something /// \tparam MyFlag A flag... /// \tparam Limit Recursion limit /// \tparam Current Recursion level counter. SHOULD NOT BE EXPLICITELY SPECIFIED !!! template<bool MyFlag, unsigned int Limit, unsigned int Current = 0> myFunction(); Is there any doxygen normalized option equivalent to "SHOULD NOT BE EXPLICITELY SPECIFIED !!!" ?

  • Implement abstract class as a local class? pros and cons

    - by sinec
    Hi, for some reason I'm thinking on implementing interface within a some function(method) as local class. Consider following: class A{ public: virtual void MethodToOverride() = 0; }; A * GetPtrToAImplementation(){ class B : public A { public: B(){} ~B(){} void MethodToOverride() { //do something } }; return static_cast<A *>(new B()); } int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { A * aInst = GetPtrToAImplementation(); aInst->MethodToOverride(); delete aInst; return 0; } the reason why I'm doing this are: I'm lazy to implement class (B) in separate files MethodToOverride just delegates call to other class Class B shouldn't be visible to other users no need to worry about deleting aInst since smart pointers are used in real implementation So my question is if I'm doing this right? Thanks in advance!

  • Is the method that I am using for retrieval in my generic list optimized

    At some time there will be a large amount of records, about 50,000. with that in mind is the method GetEquipmentRecord up to the task. thanks for you opinions. public enum EquipShift { day, night }; public class EquipStatusList : List<EquipStatus> { string SerialFormat = "yyyyMMdd"; int _EquipmentID; string _DateSerial; EquipShift _Shift; public EquipStatus GetEquipmentRecord(int equipmentID, EquipShift shift, DateTime date) { _DateSerial = date.ToString(SerialFormat); _Shift = shift; _EquipmentID = equipmentID; return this.Find(checkforEquipRecord); } bool checkforEquipRecord(EquipStatus equip) { if ((equip.EquipmentID == _EquipmentID) && (equip.Shift == _Shift) && (equip.Date.ToString(SerialFormat) == _DateSerial)) return true; else return false; } }

Thanks :-)

  • Sort an array via x86 Assembly (embedded in C++)?? Possible??

    - by Mark V.
    I am playing around with x86 assembly for the first time and I can't figure out how to sort an array (via insertion sort).. I understand the algorithm, but assembly is confusing me as I primarily use Java & C++. Heres all I have so far int ascending_sort( char arrayOfLetters[], int arraySize ) { char temp; __asm{ push eax push ebx push ecx push edx push esi push edi //// ??? pop edi pop esi pop edx pop ecx pop ebx pop eax } } Basically nothing :( Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

  • Local variable and Try/Catch

    - by 3D-kreativ
    I get an error, a red line below the variable intAge in the if-statement in the code. It says the variable is local, but how could it be local when it is declared in the beginning of the code? Does it have to do with the Try/Catch part? The reason why my code looks like it does, is just beacuse I have to use a Try/Catch in the code for this task. Preciate some suggestions to solve this in a similiar and correct way? Thanks! int intAge; try { intAge = int.Parse(age); } catch (Exception) { MessageBox.Show("Enter an age in numbers!","Error!"); } finally { } // Check input if (intAge < 1) { inputOk = false; errorMessage = "Please enter 1 or higher!"; }

Xml Snippit: <foo><propOne>1</propOne><propTwo /></foo> C# Class: [Serialilbe()] public class foo { public foo(){} [XmlElementAttribute(IsNullable = true)] public int? propOne {get;set;} [XmlElementAttribute(IsNullable = true)] public int? propTwo {get;set;} } Is there a setting on the class I can make to adjust the parsing? or Is there an easy way I can apply xsl to remove these elements? or Should I use regEx to remove the empty elements be fore desrializing? or an even better way?

  • How to convert a void pointer to array of classes

    - by user99545
    I am trying to convert a void pointer to an array of classes in a callback function that only supports a void pointer as a means of passing paramaters to the callback. class person { std::string name, age; }; void callback (void *val) { for (int i = 0; i < 9; i++) { std::cout << (person [])val[i].name; } } int main() { person p[10]; callback((void*)p); } My goal is to be able to pass an array of the class person to the callback which then prints out the data such as their name and age. However, the compile does not like what I am doing and complains that error: request for member 'name' in 'val', which is of non-class type 'void*' How can I go about doing this?

  • C pointer question, dereferencing crash

    - by skynorth
    Why do this work? int *var; while(scanf("%d", &var) && *var != 0) printf("%d \n", var); While this does not? int *var; while(scanf("%d", &var) && var != 0) printf("%d \n", var); Doesn't * (dereference operator) give you the value pointed by the pointer? So why does *var != 0 crash the program, while var != 0 does not?

  • Identifying if a user is in the local administrators group

    - by Adam Driscoll
    My Problem I'm using PInvoked Windows API functions to verify if a user is part of the local administrators group. I'm utilizing GetCurrentProcess, OpenProcessToken, GetTokenInformationand LookupAccountSid to verify if the user is a local admin. GetTokenInformation returns a TOKEN_GROUPS struct with an array of SID_AND_ATTRIBUTES structs. I iterate over the collection and compare the user names returned by LookupAccountSid. My problem is that, locally (or more generally on our in-house domain), this works as expected. The builtin\Administrators is located within the group membership of the current process token and my method returns true. On another domain of another developer the function returns false. The LookupAccountSid functions properly for the first 2 iterations of the TOKEN_GROUPS struct, returning None and Everyone, and then craps out complaining that "A Parameter is incorrect." What would cause only two groups to work correctly? The TOKEN_GROUPS struct indicates that there are 14 groups. I'm assuming it's the SID that is invalid. Everything that I have PInvoked I have taken from an example on the PInvoke website. The only difference is that with the LookupAccountSid I have changed the Sid parameter from a byte[] to a IntPtr because SID_AND_ATTRIBUTESis also defined with an IntPtr. Is this ok since LookupAccountSid is defined with a PSID? LookupAccountSid PInvoke [DllImport("advapi32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern bool LookupAccountSid( string lpSystemName, IntPtr Sid, StringBuilder lpName, ref uint cchName, StringBuilder ReferencedDomainName, ref uint cchReferencedDomainName, out SID_NAME_USE peUse); Where the code falls over for (int i = 0; i < usize; i++) { accountCount = 0; domainCount = 0; //Get Sizes LookupAccountSid(null, tokenGroups.Groups[i].SID, null, ref accountCount, null, ref domainCount, out snu); accountName2.EnsureCapacity((int) accountCount); domainName.EnsureCapacity((int) domainCount); if (!LookupAccountSid(null, tokenGroups.Groups[i].SID, accountName2, ref accountCount, domainName, ref domainCount, out snu)) { //Finds its way here after 2 iterations //But only in a different developers domain var error = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); _log.InfoFormat("Failed to look up SID's account name. {0}", new Win32Exception(error).Message); continue; } If more code is needed let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Loop through non-integer rows using SQL

    - by Jesse
    I know how to accomplish my task with .NET, but I wanted to do this just in SQL. I need to loop through all of the rows where the primary key is somewhat arbitrary. It can be a number or a series of letters, and probably any number of unusual things. I know I could do something like this... DECLARE @numRows INT SET @numRows = (SELECT COUNT(pkField) FROM myTable) DECLARE @I INT SET @I = 1 WHILE (@I <= @numRows) BEGIN --Do what I need to here SET @I = @I + 1 END ...if my rows were indexed in a contiguous fashion, but I don't know enough about SQL to do that if they're not. I keep coming across the use of "cursors," but I come across just as much reading about avoiding cursors. I found this SO solution but I'm not sure if that's what I'm needing? I appreciate any ideas.

  • Check constraint on table lookup

    - by bzamfir
    Hi, I have a table, department , with several bit fields to indicate department types One is Warehouse (when true, indicate the department is warehouse) And I have another table, ManagersForWarehouses with following structure: ID autoinc WarehouseID int (foreign key reference DepartmentID from departments) ManagerID int (foreign key reference EmployeeID from employees) StartDate EndDate To set new manager for warehouse, I insert in this table with EndDate null, and I have a trigger that sets EndDate for previous record for that warehouse = StartDate for new manager, so a single manager appears for a warehouse at a certain time. I want to add two check constraints as follows, but not sure how to do this do not allow to insert into ManagersForWarehouses if WarehouseID is not marked as warehouse Do not allow to uncheck Warehouse if there are records in ManagersForWarehouses Thanks

  • What would a compress method do in a hash table?

    - by Bradley Oesch
    For an assignment I have to write the code for a generic Hash Table. In an example Put method, there are two lines: int hash = key.hashCode(); // get the hashcode of the key int index = compress(hash); // compress it to an index I was of the understanding that the hashCode method used the key to return an index, and you would place the key/value pair in the array at that index. But here we "compress" the hash code to get the index. What does this method do? How does it "compress" the hash code? Is it necessary and/or preferred?
