  • GWT - Retrieve size of a widget that is not displayed

    - by Garagos
    I need to set the size of an absolutePanel regarding to its child size, but the getOffset* methods return 0 because (i think) the child as not been displayed yet. A Quick example: AbsolutePanel aPanel = new AbsolutePanel(); HTML text = new HTML(/*variable lenght text*/); int xPosition = 20; // actually variable aPanel.add(text, xPosition, 0); aPanel.setSize(xPosition + text .getOffsetWidth() + "px", "50px"); // 20px 50px I could also solve my problem by using the AbsolutePanel size to set the child position and size: AbsolutePanel aPanel = new AbsolutePanel(); aPanel.setSize("100%", "50px"); HTML text = new HTML(/*variable lenght text*/); int xPosition = aPanel.getOffsetWidth() / 3; // Once again, getOffsetWidth() returns 0; aPanel.add(text, xPosition, 0); In both case, i have to find a way to either: retrieve the size of a widget that has not been displayed be notified when a widget is displayed

  • toupper/tolower + locale (german)

    - by Oops
    Hi, how to convert a string (wstring) from lowercase to uppercase characters and vice versa? I searched the net and found there is a STL-function std::transform. But until now I hav'nt figured out how to give the right locale-object for example "Germany_german" to the function. Who can help please? my code looks like: wstring strin = L"ABCÄÖÜabcäöü"; wstring str = strin; locale loc( "Germany_german" ); // ??? how to apply this ??? std::transform( str.begin(), str.end(), str.begin(), (int(*)(int)tolower ); //result: "abcäöüabcäöü" The characters ÄÖÜ and äöü (it's like Ae, Oe, Ue) will not be converted correctly. P.S.: I don't prefer a big switch sweat and also I know BOOST is capable of everything, i would prefer a STL solution. thanks in advance Oops

  • Check constraint on table lookup

    - by bzamfir
    Hi, I have a table, department , with several bit fields to indicate department types One is Warehouse (when true, indicate the department is warehouse) And I have another table, ManagersForWarehouses with following structure: ID autoinc WarehouseID int (foreign key reference DepartmentID from departments) ManagerID int (foreign key reference EmployeeID from employees) StartDate EndDate To set new manager for warehouse, I insert in this table with EndDate null, and I have a trigger that sets EndDate for previous record for that warehouse = StartDate for new manager, so a single manager appears for a warehouse at a certain time. I want to add two check constraints as follows, but not sure how to do this do not allow to insert into ManagersForWarehouses if WarehouseID is not marked as warehouse Do not allow to uncheck Warehouse if there are records in ManagersForWarehouses Thanks

  • Need to interface to a C++ DLL

    - by Pedro
    Hi, I need to call a C++ API from C#. I have been able to call the API, but the char[] parameters do not seem to be marshalling correctly. Here's the C++ signature: Create2ptModel(double modelPowers[2], double modelDacs[2], int pclRange[2], double targetPowers[32], double *dacAdjustFactor, unsigned short powerRampFactors[32], BOOL bPCLDacAdjusted[32], char calibrationModel[32], char errMsg[1024]) and this is how I am trying to call it from C# [DllImport("AlgorithmsLib.dll", EntryPoint = "_Create2ptModel@36", ExactSpelling = true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall, CharSet = CharSet.Auto)] private static extern AlgorithmStatus Create2ptModel( double[] modelPowers, double[] modelDacs, int[] pclRange, double[] targetPowers, ref double dacAdjustFactor, ushort[] powerRampFactors, bool[] bPCLDacAdjusted, /**/char[] calibrationModel, char[] errMsg/**/); Any idea of how I can marshall it correctly? Thanks in advance!

  • C++ Arrays of Structure access

    - by learningtolive
    Hi, I'm studying C++ from Schildt's book and don't quite understand what does he mean under third structure; Can somebody explain this - To access a specific structure within an array of structures, you must index the structure name. For example, to display the on_hand member of the third structure, you would write cout cout << invtry[2].on_hand; Some code: struct type{ char item[40]; double cost; double retail; int on_hand; int lead_time; }invtry[SIZE];

  • Identifying if a user is in the local administrators group

    - by Adam Driscoll
    My Problem I'm using PInvoked Windows API functions to verify if a user is part of the local administrators group. I'm utilizing GetCurrentProcess, OpenProcessToken, GetTokenInformationand LookupAccountSid to verify if the user is a local admin. GetTokenInformation returns a TOKEN_GROUPS struct with an array of SID_AND_ATTRIBUTES structs. I iterate over the collection and compare the user names returned by LookupAccountSid. My problem is that, locally (or more generally on our in-house domain), this works as expected. The builtin\Administrators is located within the group membership of the current process token and my method returns true. On another domain of another developer the function returns false. The LookupAccountSid functions properly for the first 2 iterations of the TOKEN_GROUPS struct, returning None and Everyone, and then craps out complaining that "A Parameter is incorrect." What would cause only two groups to work correctly? The TOKEN_GROUPS struct indicates that there are 14 groups. I'm assuming it's the SID that is invalid. Everything that I have PInvoked I have taken from an example on the PInvoke website. The only difference is that with the LookupAccountSid I have changed the Sid parameter from a byte[] to a IntPtr because SID_AND_ATTRIBUTESis also defined with an IntPtr. Is this ok since LookupAccountSid is defined with a PSID? LookupAccountSid PInvoke [DllImport("advapi32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern bool LookupAccountSid( string lpSystemName, IntPtr Sid, StringBuilder lpName, ref uint cchName, StringBuilder ReferencedDomainName, ref uint cchReferencedDomainName, out SID_NAME_USE peUse); Where the code falls over for (int i = 0; i < usize; i++) { accountCount = 0; domainCount = 0; //Get Sizes LookupAccountSid(null, tokenGroups.Groups[i].SID, null, ref accountCount, null, ref domainCount, out snu); accountName2.EnsureCapacity((int) accountCount); domainName.EnsureCapacity((int) domainCount); if (!LookupAccountSid(null, tokenGroups.Groups[i].SID, accountName2, ref accountCount, domainName, ref domainCount, out snu)) { //Finds its way here after 2 iterations //But only in a different developers domain var error = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); _log.InfoFormat("Failed to look up SID's account name. {0}", new Win32Exception(error).Message); continue; } If more code is needed let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Java Double Array

    - by user1062058
    I'm having trouble setting up and placing values into an array using a text file containing the floating point numbers 2.1 and 4.3 each number is separated by a space - below is the error I'm getting: Exception in thread "main" java.util.NoSuchElementException import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class DoubleArray { public static void main(String[] args) throws FileNotFoundException { Scanner in = new Scanner(new FileReader("mytestnumbers.txt")); double [] nums = new double[2]; for (int counter=0; counter < 2; counter++) { int index = 0; index++; nums[index] = in.nextDouble(); } } } Thanks, I'm sure this isn't a hard question to answer... I appreciate your time.

  • How to store coordinates in a database

    - by Tim
    Hello all! I have a Flex GUI where I have to place quadrate elements. The position of these elements need to be stored into a database. So I can create two integer fields in the db table x and y. Also I need an angle, because the user can rotate these elements, so I can also make a int (int is okay, I do not need a double value therefore). As a ORM, I use Hibernate. But the question is, if creating three integer fields is the best way to handle this. Perhaps someone can tell me if this will be okay or if there are better ways? Thanks a lot in advance & Best Regards.

  • How to query for entities with no matching siblings, with LINQ?

    - by Ryan
    I've got the two following entities ... class Citation { public int CitationId { get; set; } public string Identifier { get; set; } } class CitationIdentifier { public int CitationIdentifierId { get; set; } public string Identifier { get; set; } } I'm trying to query for all Citation records where the Identifier property does not match any of the CitationIdentifiers record Identifier property. So, if I have a Citation with an Identifier property containing "foo", but there are no CitationIdentifier records with an Identifier property containing "foo", then I'd like to retrieve that Citation. I'm working with an IDbSet<Citation>. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • C# Struct No Parameterless Constructor? See what I need to accomplish

    - by Changeling
    I am using a struct to pass to an unmanaged DLL as so - [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public struct valTable { public byte type; public byte map; public byte spare1; public byte spare2; public int par; public int min; public byte[] name; public valTable() { name = new byte[24]; } } The code above will not compile because VS 2005 will complain that "Structs cannot contain explicit parameterless constructors". In order to pass this struct to my DLL, I have to pass an array of struct's like so valTable[] val = new valTable[281]; What I would like to do is when I say new, the constructor is called and it creates an array of bytes like I am trying to demonstrate because the DLL is looking for that byte array of size 24 in each dimension. How can I accomplish this?

  • Using LINQ to filter rows of a matrix based on inclusion in an array

    - by Bob Feng
    I have a matrix, IEnumerable<IEnumerable<int>> matrix, for example: { {10,23,16,20,2,4}, {22,13,1,33,21,11 }, {7,19,31,12,6,22}, ... } and another array: int[] arr={ 10, 23, 16, 20} I want to filter the matrix on the condition that I group all rows of the matrix which contain the same number of elements from arr. That is to say the first row in the matrix {10,23,16,20,2,4} has 4 numbers from arr, this array should be grouped with the rest of the rows with 4 numbers from arr. better to use linq, thank you very much!

For example:- 1 3214506 3214506 My question is why does dereferencing arr ( *arr ) does not print the value stored at the address contained in arr ?

  • SQL Select Upcoming Birthdays

    - by Crob
    I'm trying to write a stored procedure to select employees who have birthdays that are upcoming. SELECT * FROM Employees WHERE Birthday > @Today AND Birthday < @Today + @NumDays This will not work because the birth year is part of Birthday, so if my birthday was '09-18-1983' that will not fall between '09-18-2008' and '09-25-2008'. Is there a way to ignore the year portion of date fields and just compare month/days? This will be run every monday morning to alert managers of birthdays upcoming, so it possibly will span new years. Here is the working solution that I ended up creating, thanks Kogus. SELECT * FROM Employees WHERE Cast(DATEDIFF(dd, birthdt, getDate()) / 365.25 as int) - Cast(DATEDIFF(dd, birthdt, futureDate) / 365.25 as int) <> 0

  • How to get the right row in a sorted DataView?

    - by ZeissS
    Hi, I have a DataGrid containing a small table. Until now, I had a double click handler on this grid which iterated over all rows to find the selected one: DataTable table = (DataTable)this.dataGrid.DataSource; int selectedRow = -1; for (int i=0; i<table.Rows.Count; i++) if (this.dataGrid.IsSelected(i)) selectedRow = i; break; } if ( selectedRow != -1 ) { DataRow row = table.Rows[selectedRow]; // More code ... } Problem: When the user clicks on a column header and sort the table, table.Rows does not return the right rows. It still contains the unsorted rows. How can I get the right column?

  • Converting time period strings to value/unit pair

    - by randomtoor
    I need to parse the contents of a string that represents a time period. The format of the string is value/unit, e.g.: 1s, 60min, 24h. I would separate the actual value (an int) and unit (a str) to separated variables. At the moment I do it like this: def validate_time(time): binsize = time.strip() unit = re.sub('[0-9]','',binsize) if unit not in ['s','m','min','h','l']: print "Error: unit {0} is not valid".format(unit) sys.exit(2) tmp = re.sub('[^0-9]','',binsize) try: value = int(tmp) except ValueError: print "Error: {0} is not valid".format(time) sys.exit(2) return value,unit However, it is not ideal as things like 1m0 are also (wrongly) validated (value=10,unit=m). What is the best way to validate/parse this input?

  • C# A simple Hangman game

    - by Radostin Angelov
    I'm trying to create a simple Hangman game and i have gotten so far, to make it read all words from a text file, but I don't know how to make the code work for every single word. I have another project, working with 3/4 words but with repeating nested if statements. I want to make it as shorter as possible. This is the code i have so far : using System; using System.Linq; class Program { static void Main() { string[] words = System.IO.File.ReadAllLines(@"C:\Users\ADMIN\Desktop\Letters\Letters.txt"); int LengthOfArray = words.Length; Random rnd = new Random(); int random = rnd.Next(1, 3); char[] letters = words[random].ToCharArray(); bool WordIsHidden = true; char hiddenChar = '_'; char GuessedLetter = hiddenChar; var retry = true; while (retry = true) { Console.WriteLine(letters); letters = GuessedLetter.ToString().ToCharArray(); for (int i = 1; i <= LengthOfArray; i++) { Console.Write("{0} ", GuessedLetter); } Console.WriteLine("Enter a letter!"); char letter = char.Parse(Console.ReadLine()); if (words[random].Contains<char>(letter)) { WordIsHidden = false; GuessedLetter = letter; Console.Write(letters); } else { if (WordIsHidden == true) { Console.Write("You guessed wrong!"); } } } } } Also I'm trying to make the game show each letter, the user has guessed on it's corresponding position, but now the letter is one line higher than the rest of the word and it's not in it's right position. Edited: Here is the result : cat ___Enter a letter! a __ aaaEnter a letter! t aa tttEnter a letter! IF anyone have a clue for where does this come from and how can I fix it, any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Why isn't the compiler smarter in this const function overloading problem?

    - by Frank
    The following code does not compile: #include <iostream> class Foo { std::string s; public: const std::string& GetString() const { return s; } std::string* GetString() { return &s; } }; int main(int argc, char** argv){ Foo foo; const std::string& s = foo.GetString(); // error return 0; } I get the following error: const1.cc:11: error: invalid initialization of reference of type 'const std::string&' from expression of type 'std::string* It does make some sense because foo is not of type const Foo, but just Foo, so the compiler wants to use the non-const function. But still, why can't it recognize that I want to call the const GetString function, by looking at the (type of) variable I assign it to? I found this kind of surprising.

  • C++: Question about freeing memory

    - by Martijn Courteaux
    On Learn C++, they wrote this to free memory: int *pnValue = new int; // dynamically allocate an integer *pnValue = 7; // assign 7 to this integer delete pnValue; pnValue = 0; My question is: "Is the last statement needed to free the memory correctly, completly?" I thought that the pointer *pnValue was still on the stack and new doesn't make any sense to the pointer. And if it is on the stack it will be cleaned up when the application leaves the scope (where the pointer is declared in), isn't it?

  • Using * Width & Precision Specifiers With boost::format

    - by John Dibling
    I am trying to use width and precision specifiers with boost::format, like this: #include <boost\format.hpp> #include <string> int main() { int n = 5; std::string s = (boost::format("%*.*s") % (n*2) % (n*2) % "Hello").str(); return 0; } But this doesn't work because boost::format doesn't support the * specifier. Boost throws an exception when parsing the string. Is there a way to accomplish the same goal, preferably using a drop-in replacement?
