    Say I have a text area, user enters information exactly like styled below: Ice cream Chocolate then submits this information, I want to retrieve the information EXACTLY like so: Ice cream, Chocolate Is this the best way to do it: $arr = explode("\n", $var); $arr = implode(",", $arr); When doing it like this, it puts the information out like so: Ice cream , Chocolate Note the space after cream, will a simple trim() fix this?

    Hi Working with iPhone simulator 3.1.3 - Trying to add a framework to my project - MediaPlayer.framework. I tried the "Add existing framework" method - but cannot find the file in folder "Frameworks". Am I looking in the wrong place? Wrong filename? Wrong space/time continuum? I also did a search for the file - to no avail. Not in /System/Library/Frameworks/ Do I have to download it?

    How do YOU debug a Scala program? I mean YOU as in the person posting the Answer :) Please answer only from personal experience, not from stuff you've heard or read on the Internet. You should not believe everything you read on the Internet, especially tales of complex open-source software configurations that actually work :-) The are many Java tools which claim to support Scala in some way or another, but I have so far struck out in trying to get any one of them to actually let me set a breakpoint in Scala code and step through it. These are big, major open-source IDEs I'm talking about here. The main problem in getting a debugger to work seems to be the "version hell" with fast-changing IDEs, Plug-Ins, JDKs, and the Scala language itself. Hence the second part of my question, which is really the most important part: What is the exact version number of the IDE, Plug-In, JDK, Scala, and even Operating System, that you are successfully using?   • packaging sequences of png files in iPhone APP for animations to reduce bundle size

    Basically, I have an application that uses a flip-book style animation technique. I am simply cycling through around 1000 320x480 pngs at 12fps, and everything works really well. Except for the fact that 1000 images takes up a ton of disk space. Ideally I'd like to be able to compress these images as a movie file and pull out each frame as I need them, or simply play back a movie with frame by frame precision. Ideas?

    I need to manage the trace files for a database on Sql Server 2005 Express Edition. The C2 audit logging is turned on for the database, and the files that it's creating are eating up a lot of space. Can this be done from within Sql Server, or do I need to write a service to monitor these files and take the appropriate actions? I found the [master].[sys].[trace] table with the trace file properties. Does anyone know the meaning of the fields in this table?

  • Calendar Day View in PHP

    I'm working on adding a day view option to an existing calendar solution. Like many people implementing their own calendars, I am trying to model Google Calendars. They have an excellent calendar solution and their day view provides a lot of flexibility. For most part, the implementation is going well; however, I'm having issues when it comes to conflicting events. Essentially, I want the events to share the same space, side by side. Events that start at the same time should have the longest event first. In the example data set I'm working with, I have four events: A: 10:30 - 11:30 B: 13:30 - 14:30 C: 10:30 - 11:00 D: 10:45 - 14:00 I can handle A, C, and D just fine, the problem comes with D. A should be left of C which should be left of D; each taking one third of the width (it's fixed width so I can do simple math to figure that out). The problem is that B should be under A and C, to the left of D. Ideally, B would take up the same amount of space as A and C (two thirds width), but I would even settle for it only taking up only one third width. My array of events looks similar to the following: $events = array( '1030' => array( 'uniqueID1' => array( 'start_time' => '1030', 'end_time' => '1130', ), 'uniqueID2' => array( 'start_time' => '1030', 'end_time' => '1100', ), ), '1045' => array( 'uniqueID3' => array( 'start_time' => '1045', 'end_time' => '1400', ), ), '1330' => array( 'uniqueID3' => array( 'start_time' => '1330', 'end_time' => '1430', ), ), ); My plan is to add some indexes to each event that include how many events it conflicts with (so I can calculate the width) and which position in that series it should be (so I can calculate the left value). However, that doesn't help the B. I'm thinking I might need an algorithm that uses some basic geometry and matrices, but I'm not sure where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Question: epoll man page has some pointers when using epoll with an 'event cache'. But, why would you need to maintain an event cahce at all - Isn't this the same as what epoll is supposed to be doing? Is it to avoid making multiple epoll_wait calls which might be slower than managing the events in user space? Is it to implement a custom 'priority' scheme over the cached events? My hardware specifications for the nebtook are fairly basic: Be rugged enough to survive a bit of wear and tear Fairly fast processing (the ability to upgrade from 1GB of RAM to 2GB) A battery life of longer than 6 hours At least a 10 inch screen A decent camera for Skyping However, I am mainly concerned about being able to do basic statistical analysis in conjunction with R Be able run a Spreadsheet program to do basic data input (like Excel or Open Office) Use R to do basic data analysis (Regression, some simulation (nothing crazy), data cleaning, and some of the functionality) Word Processing (Word or Open Office) Do you have any suggestions on which models or brands my fit my needs? Some of the models I am considering: Samsung NB-30 Toshiba NB 305 Asus Eee PC 1005HA Lenovo S10-2 Does anyone use R on a netbook, and if so do you have any recommendations on how best to optimize it? This article from Lifehacker mentions some OS. Anybody use these in conjunction with R? Any help would be much appreciated.

  • IE font size decrease does not cause select box height to decrease

    I have a font resize function on my page which increases the font size via javascript for the entire page. This works fine in most browsers except IE. When decreasing the font size after increasing it, the select boxes new height does not decrease, even though the font size is decreasing on it. Instead the smaller font appears to be padded with white space. Any ideas as to what IE is doing here, and a work around?
