  • How do you put a UIWebView somewhere other than MainView.xib?

    - by Jack
Hello, I've been trying to put a UIWebView into my app, which is tableview based. When the user selects a row, I want the new xib to load, but this one with a UIWebView on it. From all of the tutorials I've seen, you can only put a UIWebView on the MainView.xib. Can someone please tell me how to put a FUNCTIONING UIWebView somewhere other than the main view? Thanks in advance!!

  • How to change text on a back button

    - by Ilya
Hi, By default the back button uses as a text on it a title of a viewcontroller. Can I change text on the back button without changing a title of a view controller? I need this because I have a view controller which title is too long to display and in this case I would like to display just "Back" as a caption for back button. I tried the following which didn't work: self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem.title = @"Back"; Thanks.

  • UIView scaled to thumbprint, what about subviews?

    - by Parad0x13
I have a UIImageView that I create progmatically right? Works like a charm when I initWithImage and set the parameters for scaling to UIViewContentModeScaleToFill. I can scale all day long and create many different smaller 'thumbprint' sized versions of the UIImageView at whim, HOWEVER when I add subviews to said UIImageView and then try to scale the happy new parent the child subview does not scale! I looked around and found that I should enable the setAutoresizingSubviews boolean of the parentView to true (Which I did) and then call: ChildView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; Which I also did... now when I scale the parent view the child also scales but crazy wacked out like and goes all over the place (Not a very good way of putting it) but my point is that I assumed the child would scale proportionally to the parent and stay in the same place (Which it doesn't) My question is how do I set up my code so that when I scale my parent view by 1/4 or w/e to make a thumbprint of the view the children subviews that the parent view owns will scale accordingly and allow the 1/4 sized thumbprint to look just like the full sized view (Just smaller).

  • UIWebView appears null when calling fro a method

    - by Alexidze
    I have a major problem when trying to access a UIWebView that was created during ViewDidLoad, the UIWebView appears null here is how i declare the property @property (nonatomic, retain) UIWebView *detailsView; the implementation @implementation iPadMainViewController @synthesize detailsView; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; detailsView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(500, 0, 512, 768)]; [self.view addSubView:detailsView]; } When accessing from - (void)loadDetailedContent:(NSString *)s { NSLog(@"%@", detailsView); } I get NULL, is it a normal behavior or am i doing something wrong? here is the touchesBegan that is being called, from the views subclass that is being touched, -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { iPadMainViewController *mycontroller = [[iPadMainViewController alloc] init]; self.delegate = mycontroller; [self.delegate loadDetailedContent:NewsId]; }

  • Cell contents changing after I select rows present outside its height?

    - by wolverine
I have set the size of the tableView that I show as the popoverController as 4*rowheight. And I am using 12cells in the tableView. Each cell contains an image and a label. I can see all the cells by scrolling. Upto 5th cell its ok. After th2 5th cell, the label and the image that I am using in the first four cells are being repeated for the remaining cells. And If I select the cell, the result is accurately shown. But when I again take the tableView, the image and labels are not accurate even for the first 5 cells. All are changed but the selection is giving the correct result. Did anyone got the idea what the problem is??

  • Update a portion UIView

    - by Brett
Hi; I'm using -setNeedsDisplayinRect to update only a part of my UIView. However, all of my drawing done previously to calling this method is erased. Here is my code in the UIView subclass: -(void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect{ CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, r, g, b, 1); CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(context, r, g, b, 1); CGRect arect = CGRectMake(x,y,1,1); CGContextFillRect(context, arect); NSLog(@"drawing"); } and in the view controller: -(void)drawView{ drawingView = [[DrawingView alloc]init]; x=10; y=10; r=0; g=0; b=0; [drawingView setNeedsDisplayInRect:CGRectMake(x, y, 1, 1)]; x=20; y=20; r=0; g=0; b=0; [drawingView setNeedsDisplayInRect:CGRectMake(x, y, 1, 1)]; } I end up with a screen where there is only one pixel at 20,20. Any help with this is so much appreciated. I am a beginner with XCode and am trying to complete a class project asap.

  • Is there anything wrong with my texture loading method ?

    - by José Joel.
I'm a noob in openGL and trying to learn as much as possible. I'm using this method to load my openGL textures, loading every .png as RGBA4444. • ViewController doesn't get released

    - by ObjectiveFlash
Every time I turn the page in my app, I am removing and releasing the previous viewController - but for some reason it is still in memory. I know this, because after using the app for a while, I get 47 memory warnings - one from each view controller - if I had opened 47 pages before the memory warning occurred. I get 60 memory warnings if I had opened 60 pages before the memory warning occurred. And so on... This is the code that runs from page to page: UIViewController *nextController; Class nextClass = [pageClasses objectAtIndex:(currentPageIndex - 1)]; nextController = [[nextClass alloc] initWithNibName:[pageNibs objectAtIndex:(currentPageIndex - 1)] bundle:nil]; [nextController performSelector:@selector(setDelegate:) withObject:self]; [currentPageController.view removeFromSuperview]; [self.view addSubview:nextController.view]; [currentPageController release]; currentPageController = nextController; [currentPageController retain]; [nextController release]; Can anybody point to any issues they see? Thanks so much!

  • How can I retain the data stored in plist from UITextField when application is restarted ?

    - by srikanth rongali
I am using the plist to store the data entered in the UITextFields. But, when I restart my application all the data entered previously was deleted. How can I retain the data in the Plist. I have a UITableView and when a cell is touched a view appears with two UITextFields. nameField and descriptionField. I stored the data in this way. My code is. -(void)save:(id)sender { indexOfDataArray = temp; //the cell selected in table view. NSString *string1 = [[NSString alloc]init]; NSString *string2 = [[NSString alloc]init]; string1 = nameField.text; string2 = descriptionField.text; NSDictionary *myDict = [[NSDictionary alloc] initWithObjectsAndKeys:string2, string1, nil]; [myArray addObject:myDict]; //myArray is NSMutableArray declared in tableViewController class. //[myArray insertObject:myDict atIndex:indexOfDataArray]; NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"tableVideoData.plist"]; [myArray writeToFile:path atomically:YES]; UIAlertView *alertMesage = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle: @"Save Alert" message:@"The data entered is saved" delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"cancel" otherButtonTitles:nil] ; [alertMesage show]; [alertMesage release]; } When I am using the [myArray insertObject:myDict atIndex:indexOfDataArray]; It is giving the error *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '*** -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: index (2) beyond bounds (1)' So I used [myArray addObject:myDict]; Please help me, how can I retain the data in plist. Thank You.

  • Textfield being dequeued before textFieldDidEndEditing is called?

    - by Tony
I am using a uitableview with a bunch of dynamically created custom cells each with a label and textfield similar to the settings app on the phone. Problem occurs when i have a lot of textfields say 20, the user selects the first textfield, changes its value then scrolls to the end of the table and selects the last textfield to edit. I get a EXEC_BAD_ACCESS in the textFieldDidEndEditing method because i think the textfield value is nil?? I think this might be happending because the 1st textfield that was being edited is being dequeued when the table is scrolled. Everything works fine if you select textfields that are next to each other. Any ideas how to fix this?

  • How do you update a secondary view?

    - by Troy Sartain
Perhaps there's a better way to set this up so I'm open to suggestions. But here's what I'm doing. I have a main UIView. On top of that I have a UIImageView and another UIView. When the UIImageView changes, I want to change the second UIView. So I have a class for it and the IB object's type is set to the class. In the .m of that class is a drawRect method that draws some rectangles. Also in the .m is a NSMutableArray property that is synthesized. I created an instance of that class in the controller of the main view. The problem: despite the fact that the drawRect works fine when the app starts (as traced in the debugger,) when the UIImageView changes I call a "setNeedsDisplay" on the instance variable of the second view after updating the @synthesize'd array but the drawRect does not get called. I think it has to do with instances. I wouldn't think threading would be an issue here. I just want to draw in a separate area of the screen based on an image also displayed.

  • UIView capturing all events

    - by Josh P.
I have a UIView that uses several UIGestureRecognizers and this view again has at least one child view that contains a MPMoviePlayerController. When a touch event occurs over the movie player, the main view seems to 'eat' all the events, leaving the media player idle. How can I make sure that the events are delivered correctly to the player?

  • UIWebView autosize issue only on iOS 4.3

    - by troop231
I am trying to figure out how to fix this bug that only occurs on iOS 4.3. When the application launches, it displays a PDF that is scaled to fit in the UIWebView. It behaves perfectly until you pinch to zoom on the document, and then rotate it, leaving behind a black area. If you don't pinch to zoom, it doesn't leave the black area. I don't understand why this is a iOS 4.3 only issue. Screenshot of the issue: I've been trying to solve this problem awhile now, and would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you. Screenshots of the .xib settings: The code I'm using is: .h: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ViewController : UIViewController { UIWebView *webView; } @property (nonatomic) IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; @end .m: #import "ViewController.h" @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize webView; - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation: (UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad) { return YES; } else { return (interfaceOrientation != UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown); } } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSString *urlAddress = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"test" ofType:@"pdf"]; NSURL *url = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:urlAddress]; NSURLRequest *requestObj = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; [webView loadRequest:requestObj]; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; } @end

  • UITableView with contact image problems.

    - by prathumca
As par my app requirement, I'm showing the contact images in a UITableView as shown below. ABRecordRef contact = [self getContact]; if(contact && ABPersonHasImageData(contact)) { UIImage *contactImage = [UIImage imageWithData:(NSData*)ABPersonCopyImageData(contact)]; callImage.image = contactImage; } I've two problems if I use the above code segment. Table Scrolling is too slow. If comment the above code, then UITable responds very fast. Memory Management. My app started using 25 - 30 MB of RAM. Is there any better way to avoid the above two problems?

  • Navigationcontroller, why isnt this working?

    - by f0rz
Hi ! Why wont this work? View1 loads View2. In view2: - (void) goToView { View3 *plainText = [[Tabview_testViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"View3" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:plainText animated: NO]; [plainText release]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [self goToView]; [super viewDidLoad]; } This will not trigger navigationController to pushView, but if I add a button and setAction (goToView) it works perfectly. What kind of problem do I missing here? Regards

  • tracking the position of dragview

    - by user262325
Hello everyone I put a dragview on an UIView, I hope when I drag the dragview, its superview (UIView) tracks the position of the dragview and moves itself to the position where to keep dragview at the original position on the UIView. The codes show below: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface DragView : UIImageView { CGPoint startLocation; } @end #import "DragView.h" @implementation DragView - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { // Initialization code } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { // Drawing code } -(void) touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { CGPoint pt=[[touches anyObject] locationInView:self]; startLocation=pt; [[self superview] bringSubviewToFront:self]; } -(void) touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { CGPoint pt=[[touches anyObject] locationInView:self]; CGRect frame=[self frame]; frame.origin.x+=pt.x-startLocation.x; frame.origin.y+=pt.y-startLocation.y; CGRect frame1=[[self superview] frame];//superview of the dragview frame1.origin.x+=frame.origin.x; //tracks the postion of dragview frame1.origin.y+=frame.origin.y; [[self superview] setFrame: frame1 ]; //move to new position [self setFrame:frame]; } my problem is that the UIView moved but lagged to the movement of the drageview(RED BLOCK). Welcome any comment Thanks interdev

  • Leftover Nav Bar in Landscape View

    - by Rob Bonner
Hello, I am working to force a view into landscape mode, and have picked up all kinds of cool tips to make this happen, but am stuck on one item that is left on the screen. I have my XIB file laid out in landscape, and in my code I create the view controller normally: RedeemViewController *aViewController = [[RedeemViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"RedeemViewController" bundle:nil]; aViewController.hidesBottomBarWhenPushed = YES; aViewController.wantsFullScreenLayout = YES; [[self navigationController] pushViewController:aViewController animated:YES]; Inside the controller viewDidLoad I complete the following: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarOrientation:UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight]; [[self navigationController] setNavigationBarHidden:YES animated:YES]; [UIView beginAnimations:@"View Flip" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:.75]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; if (self.interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait) { self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformIdentity; self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(degreesToRadian(90)); self.view.bounds = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 480, 320); } [UIView commitAnimations]; What I end up with is a perfectly rotated view, with a grey vertical bar on the left side (see pic). So to the question, how do I get rid of the bar? Edit: I am pretty sure this is the navigation bar that is not being hidden. This is a duplicate of another post, with some modified code, the other question was being answered with the bug.

  • Adding a subview larger than cellHeight to a UITableViewCell?

    - by MathieuK
I'm trying to add a subview to a UITableViewCell and the design that I'm working from demands that this particular subview (an image) needs to be larger than the actual UITableViewCell and thus partly overlap its siblings. So I've set up my table cell, generated my image and added it to the cell's contentView: // rowHeight for the UITableView is 45.0f UIImage *image = [self createCellThumbnail: someImage]; UIImageView *thumbView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake(150, -5, 55,55)]; thumbView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(0.1f); thumbView.image = image; cell.clipsToBounds = NO; cell.contentView.clipsToBounds = NO; [cell.contentView addSubview: thumbView]; While the image will 'overflow' into the cell below it, the top of the image is always clipped, as demonstrated here: http://imgur.com/WDsAx . Does anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible with the current approach or should I just figure out a way to draw these images onto the UITableView after all the cells are drawn (it's a non-scrollable tableview, so that would work and be fairly easy).
