• Can I call a com object from a referenced .net library in asp.net 3.5

  Hi, I'm using ASP.NET on C# and I have a referanced library in the same solution in VB which calls a COM object using CreateObject. When I run the site on my comp it works, when I run it on my IIS 6 it gives me a stackoverflow on the method call. Now I have a script wich runs the VB code on the IIS6 and it works just fine. It must be something with the ASP... How can I call Com objects within ASP..., Do I have to do something special? Pls help.

  I have two mysql queries that return a column of phone numbers. I want am trying to end up with a list of phone numbers that are in one list, but not in the other. So the two queries I have are: SELECT phone FROM civicrm_phone phone LEFT JOIN civicrm_participant participant ON phone.contact_id = participant.contact_id WHERE phone.is_primary = 1 AND participant.id IS NULL and SELECT phone FROM civicrm_phone phone LEFT JOIN civicrm_participant participant ON phone.contact_id = participant.contact_id WHERE phone.is_primary = 1 AND participant.id IS NOT NULL And before anyone asks, the above two queries do not provide mutually exclusive results (based on using IS NULL and IS NOT NULL for the last WHERE statement), since we have related individuals in the database who use the same phone number, but do not necessarily all have a participant.id.   If I browse to a flex application when recording with VS Test, I can see the calls to WebORB (amf calls). However, when stopping the recording this is what happens: First, Visual Studio detects dynamic parameters, but stays around 20%, and never gets through it. Second, if I cancel the detecting dynamic parameters, and run the web test, the calls to WebORB (amf calls) do not work. In fact, in VS2010, the call to WebORB stays on Submitting... Now, this web test, does it only record url's and query string variables, or does it record the whole request? If it records the whole request, the call to WebORB should work, but it doesn't.

• Generating a Call Hierarchy for dynamicly invoked method

  Hello, Today's world of dynamic invoke, reflection and runtime injection just doesn't play well with traditional tools such as ctags, doxygen and CDOC. I am searching for a method call hierarchy visualization tool that can display both static and dynamic method invocations. It should be easy to use, light during execution and provide helpful detailed information about the recorded runtime session. Now I guess Callgrind could be considered a valid solution for the family C. What tool / technique could you suggest to create a call graph for both static and dynamic method invocation for JVM based bytecode? The intended end result is a graphical display (preferably interactive) which can show path from main() to each method that was invoked. During research for this post I stumbled upon javashot, it seems that this is the kind of approach I'm aiming at, I would prefer that this would be integrated into a kind of profiler or alike which than can be used from within my IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans and alike). • Retry web service call if authentication failure requires re-login

  I'm consuming a web service from C#, and the web service requires a login call and then uses cookie sessions. The web service will time out sessions after a certain timeframe, after which the client will have to re-login. I'd like to find a way to automatically catch the soap fault the service sends back in this scenario, and handle it by re-logging in and then retrying the previously attempted call. I would prefer to do this somehow automatically for all the web service methods in question, rather than having to manually wrap the calls with the retry logic. Suggestions?

  I'm using the following code to authenticate users on my web service: using (PrincipalContext context = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain, domain)) { return context.ValidateCredentials(userName, password); } The obstacle I'm running into is that the first call to ValidateCredentials() is returning false but subsequent calls return true. I placed a breakpoint at this line and in the Intermediate window I see the same results: first call returns false, second returns true, even though nothing was changed (by me) between calls. The 'domain' is String.Empty but I've also tried it with the actual domain name and get the same results. I'm not that versed in network administration so any help would be appreciated,

• RPX API Call auth_info is returning "missing parameter" error

  I cannot get the RPX auth_info API call to work. It keeps returning the error: "Missing parameter: apiKey" I am using the C# RPX Helper Class provided on their Wiki:RPX Helper Class Below is my code in my Page_Load method. The RPX service works by sending a POST to a Url that I specify. My code gets the token from the post data shown below. Then I call the AuthInfo API method. string token = Request.Params["token"]; string apiKey = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"; //my API key Rpx rpx = new Rpx(apiKey, "http://rpxnow.com"); XmlElement xmlElement = rpx.AuthInfo(token); Everything looks good. The token is populated. Within their code, the "apiKey" value pair is added to the post data written to the Request stream. Has anyone had luck with this? Any ideas why this is not working? Thanks.

• Where is the virtual function call overhead?

  Hello everybody, I'm trying to benchmark the difference between a function pointer call and a virtual function call. To do this, I have written two pieces of code, that do the same mathematical computation over an array. One variant uses an array of pointers to functions and calls those in a loop. The other variant uses an array of pointers to a base class and calls its virtual function, which is overloaded in the derived classes to do absolutely the same thing as the functions in the first variant. Then I print the time elapsed and use a simple shell script to run the benchmark many times and compute the average run time. • NHibernate handling mutliple resultsets from a sp call

  I'm using a stored procedure to handle search on my site, it includes full text searching, relevance and paging. I also wanted it to return the total number of results that would have been returned, had paging not being there. So I've now got my SP returning 2 select statements, the search and just SELECT @totalResults. Is there any way I can get NHibernate to handle this? I'm currently accessing the ISession's connection, creating a command and executing the SP myself, and mapping the results. This isn't ideal, so I'm hoping I can get NH to handle this for me. Or if anyone has any other better ways of creating complicated searches etc with NH, I'd really like to hear it.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to call a void* as a function in C without first declaring a function pointer and then assigning the function pointer the address; ie. assuming the function to be called is type void(void) void *ptr; ptr = <some address>; ((void*())ptr)(); /* call ptr as function here */ with the above code, I get error C2066: cast to function type is illegal in VC2008 If this is possible, how would the syntax differ for functions with return types and multiple parameters?

• C# .NET MVC Call an action from another controller

  I have two different objects: contracts, and task orders. My requirements specify that in order to view the Details for either object, the Url should be "http://.../Contract/Details" or "http://.../TaskOrder/Details" depending on which type. They are both very similar and the details pages are almost identical, so I made a class that can either be a contract or a task order, and has a variable "objectTypeID" that says which type it is. I wrote the action "Details" in the task order controller, but now I want to call that from the contract controller instead of recopying the code. So is there any way to have the url still say ".../Contract/Details" but call the action in the TaskOrder controller instead? I tried using TaskOrderController TOController = new TaskOrderController(); TOController.Details(id); This would have worked except that I can't use the HttpContext.Session anymore, which I used several times in the action.

  Hi, I want to create some kind of AJAX script or call that continuously will check a MySQL database if any new messages has arrived. When there is a new message in the database, the AJAX script should invoke a kind of alert box or message box. I’m not quite a AJAX expert (yet anyway) and have Googled around to find a solution but I’m having a hard time to figure out where to begin. I imagine that it is kind of the same method that an AJAX chat is using to see if any new chat-message has been send. I’ve also tried to search for AJAX (httpxmlrequest) call in a continuously and infinity loop but still haven’t got a solution yet.   ...before the pagination chunks have been determined. I know you can do this in multiple statements, but there must be a better way. my results are returned ordered by date and I want to return the pagination chunk that contains a given id. So I could, for example, select the date of the given id and then select a chunk of results where date is less than or greater than the date. That would work. But is there some native mysql method of doing this sort of thing in one statement? It just seems reasonable to expect that we could ask for X results in which a given id exists if results are ordered by date.

• Why am I seeing a crash when trying to call CDHtmlDialog::OnInitDialog()

  I added a helpAbout menu item to my mfc app. I decided to make the ddlg derive from CDHTMLDialog. I override the OnInitDialog() method in my derived class and the first thing I do is call the parent's OnInitDialog() method. I then put in code that sets the title. On some machines this works fine, but on others it crashes in the call to CDHtmlDialog::OnInitDialog() - Trying to read a null pointer. the call stack has nothing useful - it is in mfc90.dll Is this a potential problem with mismatches of mfc/win32 dlls? It works on my vista machines but crashes on a win2003 server box. • Need to add totals of select list, and subtract if taken away

  This is the code I am using to calculate the sum of two values (example below) http://www.healthybrighton.co.uk/wse/node/1841 This works to a degree. It will add the two together but only if #edit-submitted-test is selected first, and even then it will show NaN until I select #edit-submitted-test-1. I want it to calculate the sum of the fields and show the amount live, i.e. the value of edit-submitted-test-1 will show 500, then if i select another field it will update to 1000. If i take one selection away it will then subtract it and will be back to 500. Any ideas would be helpful thanks! I did this where accomcost is the field that is added together, but the total cost field does update, but not automatically, it is always one selection behind. i.e. If i select options and accomodation cost updates to £900, total cost remains empty. If i then change the selection and the accomodation updates to £300, the total cost updates to the previous selection of £900.   Hello friends, I have this code in my view this code will execute each users based on selection if I select 3 users this code will execute three times and displays three seperates in same page with differnt users.. Here is my code... I used this code.. this is disabling only frist user Fieldset not for all other fieldsets? and in this Fieldset Except Input check box I need to disabled all other Inpu,select,textarea.. need to disabled.. Please can any one help me I need to hide all the Fieldsets.. thanks
