  • Load all images from internal application

    I am trying to load all the .png files from an internal application folder into a list control and I am stuck on exactly how to do it. I have tried httpservice to get the folder and count how many images there are so I can loop through them but I just cant figure that out. File structure -src -(default package) -my application files -icons -all my .png files httpService i tried: <s:HTTPService id="loadAllImages" destination="/icons" result="gotImages(event)" fault="loadAllImagesFault(event)"/> This always results in directory not found. Am I going about this completely wrong? Anyone have a suggestion?

  • Scrolling through list element causes text elements to scroll as well

    I'm using a list element with variableRowHeight and word-wrap set to true like in the example below: http://blog.flexexamples.com/2007/10/27/creating-multi-line-list-rows-with-variable-row-heights/ When I scroll through the list with a mouse scrollwheel the text in the listItems also scroll. I know that this is to do with the height of the textField... but I am unsure how to best resolve this issue. Any thoughts are appreciated! The issue that I am experiencing also occurs in the example above.

    I'm looking for method to create Vector and push some values without defining variable Vector. For example: I have function: public function bla(data:Vector.<Object>):void { ... } this function expects Vector as parameter. I can pass parameters this way var newVector:Vector.<Object> = new Vector.<Object>(); newVector.push("bla1"); newVector.push("bla2"); bla(newVector); Can I do it in one line in Flex? I'm looking for something like: bla(new Vector.<Object>().push("bla1").push("bla2")); I've also tried this: bla(function():Vector.<Object> { var result:Vector.<Object> = new Vector.<Object>(2, true); result.push("bla1"); result.push("bla2"); return result; }); But it complains: 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Function to an unrelated type __AS3__.vec:Vector.<Object>...     Do you know how to implement event notification mechanism in AIR ? For simplicity, consider an example: I want to build two applications: "television" and "remote". Among them, television is implemented using AIR. For the "television" I want to use my remote to send message to the television. How must I do to implement "television" in such way that, it runs in waiting mode and whenever it receives a message from "remote", it will process the message and make a suitable action (i.e. change channel, increase volume...).     Hello my fellow coders, As i notice for a while now (like everybody else in the industry), the RIA market is shifting from AS3/Flex to HTML/Javascript. What i would like to know is? Is html/javascript as powerfull as as3/Flex or are they entirely different. With other words can i build the exact same applictions with HTML(4/5) and Javascript as i can do with AS3/Flex? I'm not looking for the speed comparison? or bashing one technology over the other? I just want to know if is good for me to dive into javascript, JQuery...... PS.   • [FLEX] Images won't dynamically refresh

    I am writing a Flex application to receive xml from an httpservice. That works because I can populate a datagrid with the information. The xml sends image pathnames. A combobox sends a new HttpService call onChange. This repopulates the datagrid and puts new images in the folder that flex is accessing. I want to dynamically change the image without changing the pathname of the image. <mx:Canvas id="borderCanvas"><mx:Canvas id="dropCanvas"> <mx:Tile id="adTile"><mx:Image></mx:Image> </mx:Tile></mx:Canvas></mx:Canvas> This is my component. I assign my Image sources using this code: var i:Number = 0; while ( i <= dg_conads.rowCount){ var img:Image = new Image(); img.source = null; img.source = imageSource+i+".jpg"; adTile.addChild(img); i++; } My biggest problem is that the images are not refreshing. I get the same image even though I've prevented caching from the HTML wrapper and the ASP.Net website. The image automatically loads in the folder and refreshes in the folder but I can't get the image to refresh in the application. I've tried removeAllChildren(); delete(adTile.getChildAt(0)); and neither worked.

    I have item renderers in an mx.controls.Tree that I need to refresh on demand. I have code in the updateDisplayList that fires for only some of the visible nodes no matter what I do.     Hi - I've gotten a checkbox header renderer to work well with flat DPs, but a hierarchical collection view is another story. On click, I want it to select all checkboxes in a given column. Here is my code: var dp:HierarchicalCollectionView = _dataGrid.dataProvider as HierarchicalCollectionView; var testDp:GroupingCollection = dp.source as GroupingCollection; var rawDp:ArrayCollection = testDp.source as ArrayCollection; for(var i:int=0 ; i < rawDp.length ; i++){ rawDp[i][_dataField] = cb.selected; } It selects all checkboxes on the 2nd level of data, but doesn't select the top level of data.     Hey, I have a list control and i want the user to be able to select many items at a time. Thus I want it to act that if the control key is pressed while he is clicking.   • [Flex] Using same set of columns in AdvancedDataGrid in a TabBar

    I have a TabBar control which will show an AdvancedDataGrid with same set of columns on different tabs, i am doing this so that i can show similar data on different tab pages. Column heading will be the same on all grids, is there a way I can put all column headings in an array and set that as columns of data grid? I tried setting the columns property but it doesn't work. Also I need to set ID property for a single column in the grid to set it the treecolumn so one column must have individual id field too.

    Am I using TwitterScript to retrieve Twitter data for inside a Flash site. Due to Twitter's crossdomain policy, I need to setup a php proxy... Firstly I made a simple one <?php $url = $_GET['url']; readfile($url); ?> but I then get this error URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration which is only resolved by getting my host to turn fopen() on, which I don't want to do.
