• Open text file in notepad/notepad++ based on size

  Hi, When i double click a text document, if that text file is more than 1MB(or some specified size) I want that text file to be opened in Notepad++ while the files that are smaller should be opened in notepad itself. Is there any way i can achieve this.? Thanks

  hi, basically i am software guy got recently promoted to managerial cadre which requires giving recommendation for server to run software developed by our company , the software is a work flow management and the db is oracle 11 , approximately the size of daily transaction would be around 40 gb, and it should be connected to ~ 150 client machines , the client machine will be growing. help on terms of cpu, processor, memory , rack and stack or raid (i really yet to understand that concept) OS, will be greatly appreciated.

• Setting correct hostname

  Hi, when i type cat /etc/hostname the console show me my ip adress, when i type cat /etc/mailname it shows me my-ip-adress.internetserviceteam.com I have no idea if it's a problem or not, but i was lokking through a lot of postfix install tutorials, and there when typing cat /etc/hostname they were geting their site name. Why do i get just a ip-adress? Maybe i messed up something when i set up my dns and domains with the webmin tool (I did that for the first time in my life)? OS: debian

• NFS automounts hang

  Hi, I have been mounting NFS shares on my x86 Ubuntu with NIS/am-utils fine for a long time, but today my system got into a state where it could no longer access automounted directories and instead frequently got hung up trying to access them, returning either "Input/output error" or "Permission denied" (almost randomly), as well as "stale file handle." I can, however, manually mount that share fine. Restarting am-utils doesn't help get my system out of its funk; is there any other way of getting my system un-stuck?

  hi, i was wondering if I can use Time Capsule from a server. Let's say I have an ubuntu server, and I'm running some websites and web applications on it. I would install these appications on ubuntu but then store the "file folders" of each website or application (with images, videos, etc.. ) on Airport capsule and leave only the application files on the server.   Hi all There is a simple way to check the integrity of a backup made with Windows Backup in Windows 2008 Server Enterprise (not R2)? Today i tried to restore some files from a backup I made some days ago, and the Windows Backup snap-in reported that the file was unreadable. I don't know if the file is corrupt or the SVN has a bug. I tried to download the file using web browser and seems the downloading works fine. What probably is the main problem is here?

  hi, i'm new to this so bear with me plz. im attempting to set up git on my mac and need to be using my dev folder. however, there seems to be nothing in my folder ("zero KB on disk") with no sub directories listed. other hidden directories are intact. i've never really gone this deep into things before so i'm not sure how/why anything would previously have been deleted. any help greatly appreciated.

  Hi all, I have just setup two servers running 10.04 server and have installed the ubuntu-desktop as follows: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop The problem is even though it says it has installed it will not auto-start... • stsadm crash after sps07 to sps10 upgrade

  Hi all I have made an upgrade from sps07 to sps10 and I am trying now to make backups of sps10 using the command stsadm -o backup -directory c:\backup -backupmethod full The problem that Occurs is that stsadm crashes when trying todo the backup. Even worse is that when I try just to start stsadm from the command line I get following error. Unhanded exception: System.MissingMethodException: Methode not found: "Void Microsoft.SharePoint.SPRequestManager.Dispose()".at Microsoft.SharePoint.StsAdmin.SPStsAdmin.Main(String[] args) Holy moly what is happening?!
