  • Vmware server - 3d graphics upgrade like WKS 7 and vmware player

    Hi all Anybody have an idea as to when VMWARE SERVER will have an upgrade to support 3-d graphics etc. I have created some W7 VM's under WKS7 and an upgraded vmware tools -- the W7 VM's run full aero etc. I believe that vmware tools and graphics for VM's running under vmware server are at the WKS 6.5 level -- hence problems can occur. Any info on an upgrade. Cheers jimbo

    Hi, I need to have ability to stealthfully access, view, and control a few dozen PC's on my company's network. I would need a control panel window, so I can instantly connect to any of the users. Please recommend a secure solution, that will not make us vulnerable to viruses and hackers.   • Linux Mint networking not enabled in VMWare

    Hi, I installed Linux Mint in VMware, and I do not understand how to enable networking. My VMware settings use a bridged connection. My other linux distros run fine in vmware - networking works for them. But Linux Mint is the only one that isn't obtaining an ip address. Furthermore, I do not see an option in the administrative menu of Mint to enable networking... Please help. Thanks, Igor

    Hi, How can I improve RDP performance? I'm on an 8mb line, and I have disabled all the fancy features like visual styles. One page said if I set a low speed, that too will increase performance. Is there any proof in this? Also, there was an ad here about an application/technology which can increase RDP performance by x20. Has anyone used this? Thanks

    Hi so i am trying to install the commands wget and with-readline for use with Mac OS X's terminal. The configuration seems to work fine for both even though i am required to specify for the first one, host= i686-apple. When i get to the make part of the installation, the output is as follows.     Hi, I'm using SCVMM R2 with Windows 2008 R2 hosts. I've noticed that if I have an iso mounted on a vm from the scvmm library and then a snapshot is restored then you always get an error .iso is already present on server when trying add it again. I know you can log onto the Host and delete the iso from the Virtual Machine foler but that will be a nigthmare in a 200 VM strong implimentation. is there another way?

    Hi, Is it possible to make a backup of my Windows Server from the built-in Microsoft tool, but as long as my Hyper-V backups are stored safely and not backed up anywhere, I can still restore my Windows Server from the native backup and use the Hyper-v machines? So if I lost my C:\ and my VMs are stored remotely, I can restore from an earlier backup and use those VMs.

    Hi, I am looking for a way to exclude specific file types from being logged in the security audits. I have a folder being audited for deletion events and the majority of logged events are .tmp files (such as a temp Word file that is automatically deleted when the app is closed) which I do not care about.
