• created pub/priv keys using putty, created .ssh folder and authorized_keys, still not working

  created public/private keys using puttygen on my computer. put the public key in the .ssh/authorized_keys folder on the server setup pageant.exe to use the pk on my computer. when I run pageant, and connecting using putty it still asks me for my password. what am I missing? I did do a: chmod 700 on .ssh folder chmod 600 on authorized_keys file thanks!

  Will Linux / UNIX / OS X binaries be stored in the same directories across different platform or distributions? I'm asking because I need to have access to uuidgen (stored in /usr/bin/uuidgen on my development computer) and noticed that my local Apache server does not include /usr/bin in the PATH. I know I could add /usr/bin to the path, but I want to make sure the software can be re-deployed on a number of different systems with ease. Thanks!

I have options between say 32GB Memory for 2 CPUs, DDR3, 1066MHz (8x4GB Dual Ranked RDIMMs) and 36GB Memory for 2 CPUs, DDR3, 1066MHz (18x2GB Dual Ranked RDIMMs) Both at the same price. • Make vhdresizer work on XP Mode VHD files

  I'm trying to shrink a Windows 7 XP Mode VHD file with VhdResizer with little success. When I select my VHD file, it says "VhdExpand only supports fixed and dynamic VHD files". My XP Mode VHDs are dynamic files. Does anyone have any idea why it is failing? Failing that, does anyone have a process that I can use to shrink my XP mode VHD files? Thanks.

• What's with all the mailing archives?

  When I google for certain questions, or problems I run into I would sometimes run into 'archive' sites - these sites contain forum questions or information from other sites that are extremely poorly formatted, and are copies of the well formatted original posts from various forums. An example of one of those sites in mail-archive.com and various similar sites. Can anybody explain to me why those sites exist and how come they don't get banned from Google (since all they have is copied content that is really poorly formatted by bots)? Thanks!

  Hello, does difference between timezones on Windows Server 2008 where backup was made and reovery console makes difference? Recovery console (wbadmin from command line too) is not finding any backup on local hard drive connected to server. When I connected backup hard drive from Windows 2008 R2 Release Candidate recovery console runned from RTM system version DVD found stored backups from it without problems.

  I have a networked drive (Iomega Media Drive). To be safe in case the drives crashes, I've decided to buy an additional networked drive (WD MyBook World). Now, how do I backup one onto the other continuously?   I picked up a Ericsson W35 at a pawn shop the other day and when I login to the administration section at 192.168.1.1 I get an error message about connecting to the database. It apparently supports ssh administration and I get a password prompt when attempting to ssh [email protected] but no passwords I try work and theres no documentation for it.   Hi, I'm using Linux for years and now I have to work with Windows XP at work. The problem is I don't like default shortcuts for switching keyboard input languages: [CTRL]+[SHIFT] and [ALT]+[SHIFT]. And I'd really like to change the shortcut to the one I'm using in Linux [SHIFT]+[SHIFT]. I've googled for a while, played with registry but have not found any solution.
