• Testing C++ program with Testing classes over normally used classes

  Hi Guys, This will probably be a bot of a waffly question but ill try my best. I have a simple c++ program that i need to build testing for. I have 2 Classes i use besides the one i actually am using, these are called WebServer and BusinessLogicLayer. To test my own code i have made my own versions of these classes that feed dummy data to my class to test it functionality. I need to know a way of somehow, via a makefile for instance, how to tell the source code to use the test classes over the normally used classes. The test classes are in a different "tester" c++ file, and the tester c++ file also has its own header file. Regards Paul P.S.   Hi All, I want to write a named scoped to get a record from its id. Ex: I have a model called Event and its same as doing Event.find(id) (I dont want to use find inside my controller and I want my controller to use a named scoped (for future flexibility)) So I have written a named scoped named_scope :from_id, lambda { |id| {:conditions = ['id= ?', id] } } and I'm calling it from my controller like Event.from_id(id) But my problems is it returns Event object array not only one object Ex: if I want to get event name I have to write event = Event.from_id(id) event[0].name instead I want to write event = Event.from_id(id) event.name Am I doing something wrong here.. thanks in advance cheers sameera

• Replace text in folder names

  How can I replace the same text in folder names in linux? Say I have "Photos_Jun", "Photos_July", "Photos_Aug", etc. whats the simplest way I can rename them like "Photos Jun", "Photos July", etc (basically I want to replace the underscore with a space " ". I have about 200 of these folders. I was looking at solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1836563/how-can-i-easily-bulk-rename-files-with-perl It looks like what im looking for however, I dont know how to make a regular expression to match folders that are alphanumeric followed by a "_". • How to disable Center Key (CK) and let only Left Soft Key (LSK) be used in j2me

  Hello everyone, I created a custom item in which I need to use the Center Key for the purpose of selecting and I am successfully able to use it with the keyPressed event using the keyCode as -5. The problem is, as soon as I press the CK, it also clicks on the command above the LSK and that causes the menu to pop up. Is there any way that I can disable the CK for a particular command or something like that (because I dont need CK, since I can click on the command through LSK as well, I want to use the CK specifically for the custom item)?   Hi, i have a similar issue as espoused in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/695752/product-table-many-kinds-of-product-each-product-has-many-parameters i am convinced to use RDF now. but i already have a database in mysql and the code is in php. 1) So what RDF database should I use? 2) do i combine the approach? meaning i have a class table inheritance in the mysql database and just the weird product attributes in the RDF? I dont think i should move everything to a RDF database since it is only just products and the wide array of possible attributes and value that is giving me the problem. 3) what php resources, articles should i look at that will help me better in the creation of this? 4) thank you.

  Hi, I need to automate the migration from an Access (2003) to an SQL Server DB (2005 or 2008). The upsizing should be done automatically as part of a build process. I need that because there are 2 versions of the software, a single user rich client and a web version. Access DB is used for single user to minimize setup effort, SQL Server to improve performance and scaling with many simultanious users. Access should be the "leading" DB, meaning devs do changes in Access DB and those are propagated to the SQL server within the build process. Many changes will occur, so doing it manually is not an option. I am new to the Microsoft world, so I dont know appropriate tools for that. What tools can I use and how? I know how to do it (by clicking) with the upsizing assistant. Perhaps I can automate that somehow? Thanks in advance for your answers. Cheers, Arne

  I'm still a beginner in java. I dont have any idea on how to import the files that I have downloaded into my java class. Its in this path: E:\Users\user\Downloads\mysql-connector-java-5.1.12 I don't know what to do with the files I extracted from the file that I have downloaded in the mysql site for me to connect my java application and mysql database. I'm using Netbeans 6.8. • is there any light weight javascript date picker

  I am using JQuery Date picker, but it is too much heavy, the minified version of ui.datepicker.min.js is of 44 KB. the images of datepicker have their own weigh. the jquery framework is of 59 KB. and total images on page are of around 80 KB the total html of page is around 70 KB and the css file size is around 72 KB. and much more, and all the things go upto 600 KB. which is 0.6 MB. do you think user will wait for 600 KB to be downloaded in the browser? it may take upto 8 - 10 secs. and I dont think that user will wait for such long time. I want to keep my website light weight. is there any light weight javascript date picker.

  I want to have interactions between visitors on my site. Imagine a chat room. It basically involves getting the data from everyone and sending it to everyone, this can be done by ajax and what not but I wonder if there is something already there in the wild that would do the heavy lifting for me. I have to say that I got very lost once I start programming Ajax, dont even know how to make tests for it... I have found the Q42multiplayer library that looks like what I want but they use C# as backend. There is something similar or any other multiplayer thingy I can get some idea or rip some code from (the whole thing will be opensource) for Ruby on Rails?

• jtabbedpane different sized tabs

  hi, im making a search function for a database that uses a jtabbedpane with one tab for a quick search, and one for an advanced search. the advanced search has quite a few more fields, so it needs to be larger, but i dont want the whole window to always be at the largest size for aesthetic reasons. i have added a change listener to the pane, and tried resizing the pane based on which tab it is, and the code executes when the tab is clicked, but does nothing. ive tried using tabbedSearchPane.setSize() followed by tabbedSearchPane.validate(), as well as resizing components around it using setSize+validate, and nothing seems to do anything. i really just need to know how to ACTUALLY change the size of a jtabbedpane.

  Hey, For university we're supposed to write a game (the language is modula2 little chance you know it). Each tetromino is defined through a central piece and 3 relative pieces, Now when it comes to rotation i just rotate the relative blocks (linear algebra). What i am asking myself is how to handle the rotations a user does when the piece has already "landed" because than the user has a little time left to move his pieve quickly into the desired position but in tetris versions all over the web you can "rotate over" other pieces, but i dont seem to get it with my rotation. Over what piece do i need to rotate? are there guidelines? Thanks

  Hello, Is it possible to make a jquery ajax call, and get the response as an input parameter of another function: here is an example, i have the following function call at a location: updateTips(validationTextObject,objUsers.fetchAvailable()); the objUsers.fetchAvailable() function makes a ajax call to the server. The callback function on successful call would be something like this. It is being used to process the result BHUsers.prototype.recvAvailable= function(response){ // some kind of processing over here return (response["status"] == "OK")? "Available" : "Not Available"; } I want that fuction to return the processed result which can be used as a parameter to the function updateTips The primary goal of this is to be able to do all of this for multiple scenarios, rather than writing multiple functions for the same call. Also i want the calling and the response processing functions to just do what they are doing. I dont want to add html objects into it. Any Clues?

  Hello I am trying to setup per-user fastcgi scripts that will run each on different port and with different user. Here is example of my script: #!/bin/bash BIND=127.0.0.1:9001 USER=user PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN=2 PHP_FCGI_MAX_REQUESTS=10000 etc... However, if I add user with /bin/false (which I want, since this is about to be something like shared hosting and I dont want users to have shell access), the script is run'd under 1001, 1002 'user' which, as I googled, might be security hole. My question is: Is it possible to allow user(s) execute shell scripts but disable them to log in via SSH ? Thank you

  Hi, I am trying to retrieve file path for a html file that is embedded in resource (resx file) in VS2008 C# project. I want to give path of this file to native webbrowser control (PIEHtml) to be able to navigate (DTM_NAVIGATE) in my application. I know I can pass the string to this control using DTM_ADDTEXTW but since html text size is so big, I dont want to pass string to the control. I need to somehow extract the file path for this html file embedded inside resource manager. I tried using but this does not give the file path of html inside assembly: private ResourceManager resManager = new ResourceManager("AppName.FolderName.FileName", System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()); this.lbl.Text = resManager.GetString("StringInResources"); and also read Retrieving Resources in Satellite Assemblies but it did not solve my problem.   Is there a jdbc driver for SQL Server that can search for database instances on network? Just wanting to emulate "OSQL -L" from the JDBC driver. Dont want to have to call OSQL from JNI or something. I also don't want to have to write my own code for scanning a UDP port. I want my Java application to be able to search for live SQL Servers and prompt me with a list of available servers. Isn't this a reasonable expectation for a JDBC driver? OSQL.exe can do it and so why not the JDBC driver?

  Hello everybody, I have a JSF application and when user click on button I want to open a web page. Desktop.getDesktop().browse(uri); probably opens a web page on server side, how to do it on client side? when i try Desktop.getDesktop().browse(uri); it works, but maybe its because I open the JSF application on localhost so I dont know if the opened uri is on server side or client side. In the specification for getDesktop() its written: getDesktop() Returns the Desktop instance of the current browser context. Thanks!

  Hello friends, In my project, I have so many .png images. They are working properly in Firefox but when I run my project on Internet Explorer, i get white background in that images. I have used some Image converters but they are also not giving the proper result. After converting, the resolution gets changed. So can any one suggest me some good Converter that will not change the resolution of image and will also convert the .png images to .gif images?   hi, I m stuck in a really simple problem. And i m afraid my question might annoy some people. The problem i am facing in short is that i want to add UITabBar Control to my iphone application other than the main screen. Let me explain, I have done everything successfully Added UItabbar control from IB in the main window's xib, added a variable at the back end , associated it by dragging the line. Also added a UIWindow variable and wrote these lines . [window addSubview:tabBarController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; when i launch the application a blank window appears and tab bar shows on its bottom. But the problem i dont want to add it to a particular window which is inside my app. Its no the first screen of my app. Its actually the 3rd screen of my app. Can anybody help ? thanks Taimur

  Hi, in my C# WPF prog i´am trying to set a value of a HTML Text Element which is defined like: <input name="tbBName" type="text" id="tbBName" tabindex="1" /> What i found about it and tried is: mshtml.HTMLDocument doc = (mshtml.HTMLDocument)webBrowser1.Document; mshtml.HTMLInputTextElement tbName = (mshtml.HTMLInputTextElement)doc.getElementsByName("tbBName"); tbName.value = "Test"; But i got the exception: Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'mshtml.HTMLInputTextElement'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{3050F520-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). I know what it says but i dont know which object i can use to access the Texbox. Thanks for any answers.
