• VIM: created syntax not showing up?

  HI people I recently changed to VIM for coding in C. I'd like to hightlight the operators +-<=& ... etc I searched in google how should i do it, and i found the answer in this website: I was suppose to do something like: syntax match Operadores /[][><()&!|+*={}-]/ hi Operadores guifg=#000000 gui=BOLD Those characters were supposed to appear as black, bold characters. However, that doesn't happen when I open my .C files. However, if I create a newfile, (where there the C syntax doesn't show up), I am able to see the black, bolded operators. How can i correct this situation, and why is this happening (it seams like if my syntax is beeing overwrided by the C syntax). I'm using gvim, and this is my vimrc: colorscheme nicotine set smartindent set number set guifont=Inconsolata\ Medium\ 11 set numberwidth=5 noremap j jzz noremap k kzz Thanks, any help is appreciated. • Need to debug LINQ simple queries in Visual Studio 2010

  I often get in a position when I need to know why my LINQ doesnt work as intended... I use object collections and extensions. I dont want spend more than couple of minutes on it. LINQ supposed to make developer's life easier not harder. I hoped VS 2010 will have it fixed but I now use RC and it still doesnt let me type LINQ and check what is going on... Says as before "Expression cannot contain lambda expressions"... Is there some add-on for Visual Studio so I can quickly and effectively run ad-hoc queries and find out what is going on and where I am wrong?

• Running Awk command on a cluster

  How do you execute a Unix shell command (awk script, a pipe etc) on a cluster in parallel (step 1) and collect the results back to a central node (step 2) Hadoop seems to be a huge overkill with its 600k LOC and its performance is terrible (takes minutes just to initialize the job) i don't need shared memory, or - something like MPI/openMP as i dont need to synchronize or share anything, don't need a distributed VM or anything as complex Google's SawZall seems to work only with Google proprietary MapReduce API some distributed shell packages i found failed to compile, but there must be a simple way to run a data-centric batch job on a cluster, something as close as possible to native OS, may be using unix RPC calls i liked rsync simplicity but it seem to update remote notes sequentially, and you cant use it for executing scripts as afar as i know switching to Plan 9 or some other network oriented OS looks like another overkill i'm looking for a simple, distributed way to run awk scripts or similar - as close as possible to data with a minimal initialization overhead, in a nothing-shared, nothing-synchronized fashion Thanks Alex

• Are there any serialization frameworks for java

  I know there is simple, which seems to be a decent enough XML serializer and i know there is Jaxb which seems to do the job as well. However im after something a bit more generic, so I could serialize my model to Xml, Json, Binary etc. So the models are just dumb objects that just get thrown into some sort of serialization factory and then the relevant output is spat out... I dont see any reason why you couldn't do this with reflection, so for a REALLY simple solution get the relevent public properties, cut off the get or set and make that the element name... i.e getPersonName() would become <PersonName>xxxx</PersonName> or PersonName:XXXXX

  I have a form I have built: <form class="myform" action="cgi.pl"> <select name="export" onchange='this.form.submit()'> <option value="" selected="selected">Choose an export format</option> <option value="html">HTML</option> <option value="csv">CSV</option> </select> </form> Now, this form works fine if I pull down and select "HTML" or "CSV". But if I hit the back button and select "Choose an export format", the form is submitted, even though I dont want it to be. Is there any way to prevent form submission for that option?

  iam using leigeber's sorting javascript to sort my data on my page......i took the js from here :- leigeber's sorting javascript Now this is shwoing highlighted sorted column and all and its all perfect.Now iam having some negative and some positive values in my data and i want to show those negative data in red color and positive in green.This whole sorting thing is using js and css to do the highlighting and sorting.Iam a bit confused now and cant make it out that how i can assign red color to the negative ones and green to the positive ones as js is returning the data as an object i.e. a complete row and i cant make 1 column's data red or green.Will it be done by js itself or with the help of stylesheet to find -ves and +ves.Im totally lost and dont know how to do it.Please help!!!! this is an example of hte data iam using this whole sorting thing on:- -Name- -Price- -loss- -Pts- abc 361.15 -5.68 -21.75 abc2 1072.35 -5.24 -59.25 abc3 512.35 5.24 28.35 abc4 335.2 -5.02 -17.7 abc5 318.6 5.01 -16.8 abc6 76.15 -4.15 3.3

  I have following two tables:- Table1 ------------- ID Name 1 A 2 B 3 C Table2 -------- ID Name 1 Z I need to insert data from Table1 to Table2 and I can use following sytax for the same:- INSERT INTO Table2(Id, Name) SELECT Id, Name FROM Table1 However, In my case duplicate Ids might exist in Table2 (In my case Its Just "1") and I dont want to copy that again as that would throw an error. I can write something like this:- IF NOT EXISTS(SELECT 1 FROM Table2 WHERE Id=1) INSERT INTO Table2 (Id, name) SELECT Id, name FROM Table1 ELSE INSERT INTO Table2 (Id, name) SELECT Id, name FROM Table1 WHERE Table1.Id<>1 Is there a better way to do this without using IF - ELSE? I want to avoid two INSERT INTO-SELECT statements based on some condition. Any help is appreciated.

• Word mergefield wildcard not correctly matching

  Hello, Below is my mergefield code: { IF { MERGEFIELD Subs_State } = "GA" "blah blah" "{ IF { MERGEFIELD CEOrgStates } = "GA" "blah blah" ""} "} I'm pulling records from a MS Access db. My goal is to check whether a record has Subs_State field matching "GA", or the CEOrgStates has the word "GA" (some records have stuff like "|FL|CA|GA|CT|KY|" (no quotes)). When I merged the docs, Word doesnt seem to be able to match with the wildcards: If I use and compare "*GA" (fields ending with GA), it works; however, the double wildcards "*GA*" dont seem to work at all. Here are the things I’ve tried: Have data in lowercase, then compare with lowercase Have data in lowercase, convert to and then compare with uppercase Do the opposite of the above 2 with uppercase data Use “*GA*” and “*ga*” (no pipe) Use different delimiters Nothing seems to work with the double wildcard matching. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

• SmartGWT Widgets not displaying properly

  I have a basic GWT Maven project going. I added SmartGWT and started playing around with some widgets and nothing displays correctly. The ListGrid seems to somewhat render but things are off and even data isnt showing up (though the rows respond to indicate there is data within the row). Sorting arrows dont appear but are clickable, and filters are wildy off. Whats causing this. I deleted everything in the .css file. GWT newbie here.

• iPhone image app not releasing memory as in instruments using imageNamed

  hi, im building iPhone app that downloads images (UIImageView) from internet and adding them to UIScrollView. This scroll view could contain 20 or more UIImageViews. Iam adding UIImages to UIImageView like this: UIImageView *newView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: image]; Then I just scroll these images like in photo app. Problem is, when I put just 3 UIImageViews in UIScrollView everything works fine, but when I put more images, more memory is used, so that app can crash after 15 or more images. I can understand it that more images alloc more memory, but in Instruments i get allocated max 2-3 MB, but in device memory raises until it crashes. When I use simulator for OS 3.0 i can see memory rising like on device. On higher versions I dont see this memory raise, why is that?

Now i have a splitview with a rootview / leftview that has a table and detailview / rightView that has some view controller pushed into it's navigationcontroller. So this is what i want to achieve: When i tap on a tablerow on my rootView , i want my detail view to push a viewController associated with that row... any ideas ? • cannot get ip address on a virtual machine

  so i have a code which gets me the ip address of a machine i am wroking on. so if my gui is published on the server and i access it from my local machine it gives me tha address of my local machine and when i access the gui from the server itself it gives me the server address.. which is fine. • Virtual/soft buttons for (Home, menu,Back, Search) always on top?

  How can I make an app or maybe service that looks like (Nexus One touch buttons) for the navigation keys (Home, menu,Back, Search) The buttons should always be visibly and always stay on top and send the command to the app thats running. Someone have ideas and sample codes how to do that? * I see an app with name (Smart Taskmanager) wich always detect when you touch the right side of the screen and then detect when you slide the finger to left. So I think its possible, with this function I think its possible to implementate the code to simulate the (Home, Meny, Back, Search) buttons. * I also see and test an app wich show a "cracked display" always ontop so that tecnic maybe shold be useful to always show the buttons/bitmanp on top. Thoose function, to show the button and catch the "touch event" and send the event to the active program, thats what i dont can figure out how to do. Thats my thought!   Hi, I have list of 200 rss feeds, which I have to downloading. It's continuous process - I have to download every post, nothing can be missing, but also no duplicates. So best practice should be remember last update of feed and control it for change in x-hour interval? And how to handle if downloader will be restarted? So downloader should remember, what were downloaded and dont download it again... It's somewhere implemented yet? Or any tips for article? Thanks

The issue: I'd like to release some dll's that will add extra functionality to applications, but i thats all i want them to be used for. adding functionality to applications. What i want to do is ignore the blank ones, I find this harder to sort through in the update controller than a non nested attribute. What i have temporarily is a hack in the after_save callback deleting the empty records. Whats the most rails way to ignore these blank objects? I dont want validation and errors, just a silent deletion/ignore.

Is the Instrumentation class be used only together with Junit for unit testing. Can Junit framework can be used to test the methods of the Android API without using the Instrumentation class. Since Junit package has been included in the Android package, I hope we dont need to use install separately for unit testing. • Sync a WinForm with DatagridView

  I have a Form with a DataGridView which DataSource is a BindingSource to a table. This view will have a single row selection and a button to delete, edit the current selected row in a popup Form and a insert button that will use the same Form as well. My question is how can I sync the pop Form with the current row? I tryied to use the RowStateChanged event to get and store the current selected Row to be used in the Form but I coudnt. After the event I get the row that was selected before. Other thing I dont understand yet in C# how to have a single recordSet and know wich is the current record even if its a new being inserted in a way that once in the Form all data being entered will show up at the same time in the DataGridView.

  I have a datatable bound to a winforms dataGridView via a BindingSourceControl. I want to be able handle the UserDeletingRow event from the dataGridView and mark the row in my dataTable as deleted. I need to then be able to retrieve the rows marked as deleted from the datatable so that I can delete them from my database when a Save button is clicked. Please not I dont want to delete from the database on each firing of UserDeletingRow, only mark that row as deleted in my dataset. Can anyone point out how to do this?

  Hi there, I´ve got a problem with a Combobox in a ListView. I´ve got a class called "Substrate". This class contains an object of a class called "SubstrateType". I want to show the objects of the class "Substrate" in a Listview. Each property of the "Substrate" is presented in the columns of the Listview. For the different "SubstrateType" I want to use a combobox. In the XAML I tried it like this: <ComboBox Name="CBType" ItemsSource="{Binding ElementName=SettingsSubstrate, Path=TypeList}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Substrate.SubstrateType}" DisplayMemberPath="Description"/> In the code-behind I got two ObservableCollections. One for all Substrates and one for all possible SubstrateTypes. The combobox displays all SubstrateTypes if you click on it.   Hi All, I'm trying to work out a query that self join itself on a table using the eventnumber. I've never done a self join before. What i'm trying to query is when a client has started off in a city which is chester to see what city they moved to. But I dont want to be able to see if they started off in another city. I would also like be only see the move once (So i'd only like to see if they went from chester to london rather then chester to london to wales) The StartTimeDate is the same EndDateTime if they moved to another city. • How to capture shift-tab in vim

  I want to use shift-tab for auto completion and shifting code blocks visually. I have been referring to Make_Shift-Tab_work . That link talks about mapping ^[[Z to shift-tab . But i don't get ^[[Z when i press shift-tab. i just get a normal tab in that case. It then talks about using xmodmap -pke | grep 'Tab' to map tab keys. According to that the output should be keycode 23 = Tab or keycode 23 = Tab ISO_Left_Tab However i get keycode 22 = Tab KP_Tab if i use xmodmap -e 'keycode 22 = Tab ISO_Left_Tab' and after that xmodmap -pke | grep 'Tab', I still get keycode 22 = Tab KP_Tab This means running xmodmap -e 'keycode 22 = Tab ISO_Left_Tab' has no effect. In the end the link mentions using xev to see what X recieves when i press shift-tab. But i dont have xev on my system. Is there any other way i can capture shift-tab in vim
