  • Change dead disk in DPM 2010

    I was backuping data on an 1Gb hard drive with DPM 2010. This disk died but I replace it with another 1Gb hard drive. But I don't find how to recreate data structure on this new drive from previous protection group. Protection group were red. I delete the disk in "administration disks", now protection group are green but they don't save data and I don't see any menu to change the disk destination. how to do ? thanks

  • How do I extend the virsh/qemu/libvirt Timeout?

    There's a known issue with starting virtual machines with large hard drive images. Apparently, the time-out is 3 seconds, but in reality, it can take up to 15 seconds for a machine to start. I've read several bug reports, and people confirming it's a time-out problem, but I have yet to see a solution. Is there an option I can pass, like: virsh start MyMachine --ignore-timeout Or a config file that needs changed? Thanks!

    I prefer the sound scheme of Windows 7 HP to be set to "No Sounds" ALL the time. The problem is, when I switch themes, the themes switch sound schemes also. I know I can go in and disable/change to "No Sounds" every time by hand, but is there a way to turn it off and keep it off, regardless of the theme? Thanks!

    Does anyone know how to run applications hosted on a client VM from an icon created on the host computer. For example I want to run IE8 installed on the client VM on my host XP computer running IE6. I cant update to IE6 on the host because of compliance issues.     Hi, I wonder if the following things can be done with the HTML notes pane of freemind: 1- is it possible on the layout view to decrease the separation between lines? 2- the panel is horizontal, is it possible to setup a vertical view? (I have a big, horizontal-like monitor) By the way, when I move the mouse pointer over a node, i can see the HTLM note associated with it, but its view (as a yellow square) only lasts for some seconds.     A software I need to install on my Ubuntu Hardy has a MAKE file which includes the command cp -n. However, I get an error stating the -n is an invalid option. The command will work on a Mac terminal but I need it to work on Ubuntu. Does anyone know the equivalent command for Ubuntu? Thanks.

    Hi, I just updated Amarok from KDE3 version and it looks a bit weird and different. But my problem is after I updated my music collection and started to play it (it is all loaded into my playlist), amarok doesn't start next song after the current song is finished. I have repeat(repeat playlist) and random(random tracks) options enabled. Thanks.

    64-bit Office installs 64-bit IFilters for its document types, but does not install 32-bit IFilters. Therefore, 32-bit programs that rely on IFilters cannot work with 64-bit Office. And although there is an option to download 32-bit IFilters from Microsoft, the installer will not run on a 64-bit machine, complaining about architecture mismatch. Is there any way to make 32-bit programs extract text from Office documents using IFilters when 64-bit Office is installed? Thanks.

  • faking NAT with a VMware distributed switch across multiple hosts

    Have a VM that will act as the router, and will be connected to both networks (NAT + 'real'). I spread the distributed switch across the hosts, although any VM that is not on the same physical host as the router/dhcpd simply doesn't get an IP. So its obviously my dvSwitch config. Has anyone achieved a NAT solution using a dvSwitch before that they could share?! Thanks.

Just been playing around with Rainmeter and I notice that if I want to go look at my desktop and I click on the bottom right square in win7 that minimizes to the desktop, the rainmeter "gadget" gets minimized as well, not letting me read what I want to see.     Hi, Why is that a hypervisor, which alledgedly needs to be on physical hardware, can be deployed within a VM? For example, XenServer (the actual hypervisor) can be deployed in an ESX VM? Why is this possible (Although not a good idea for many reasons, but still works). Also, why do people say a hypervisor needs physical hardware (from an architectural point of view, rather than obvious performance reasons). Thanks
