  • Good light debian derivates-distro for VIA C3 processor

    Hi, i would like to install a good distro on a VIA C3 Samuel system. It would be a light server (with a graphical environment) useful for print server, file server etc. I've tried to install crunchbang linux but it tell me that my processor not support cx8 and cmov instructions. So i'm trying Knoppix.. but i still have some problem ... Do you know other good lightweight distro debian derivates that support via c3 processor ? Thanks

  • How can I monitor a Smart-UPS 2200 in PRTG?

    This UPS is connected via a serial cable to a server. I am trying to get the temperature readings off of the sensor that is connected to the UPS and get them in PRTG. We were able to do this in the past and then when we changed the server out, we lost the settings. Does anyone have any info that might help? Thanks!!

  • Best Free Windows Imaging Software For Servers

    We are running two physical servers both Windows 2003, not virtualized. What is the best free (if any) windows software to take a full image backup of the entire drives? If possible, while the image is taking place, it should not bring the hosts to their knees with excess CPU or I/O usage. The servers have RAID mirroring, but after hearing a few horror stories about hacked systems, we need to have weekly full image backups, so we can simply revert to a pre-hacked image. Thanks.

  • Wireshark vs Netmon for precise time tagging

    I'm using Wireshark to time tag and get some statistics on multicast traffic. When there is not much traffic, the stats looks good, but as soon as there is a bunch of packets arriving at the same time, I have stats that are not even possible (e.g. round trip time of 0ms) I'm wondering if Netmon could be more precise in time tagging packet because it is not relying on the Winpcap driver?   • Dell SP2309w not getting full resolution on Inspiron E1505

    HI Folks, i have an Inspiron E1505 with Windows 7 and Intel GMA 945 Chipset. I connected a Dell SP2309W 23" monitor via VGA to the laptop but it is not achieving it's original resolution but is stuck at 1024 x 768. Also it is detected as a Generic Non PNP Display Device. I upgraded my display driver to latest version and it fully supports Windows 7. What more can i do? Any help. Thanks a Lot in advance

    I recently used Raw Copy to make an image of my 300gb Raptor Hd to a OCZ Vertex SSD 60GB. And When I pluged in the SSD to boot I get a Grub Error 18. I have tried to changed in the BIOS setting to LBA, Large, Auto, trying different combination's. Any advice. thanks, Clint

    I am nstalling drivers for a printer, and I have a choice of either PCL (5 or 6), or PostScript drivers? Which one would you recommend and why? (I would have to switch carriers to sign up for a data plan as my current Chinese carrier doesn't support surfing either... if possible I want to avoid getting yet another card though.) In this guide it says to use this command: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk But on Suns website, it says JDK includes the JRE, so why the JRE in the line above? Anybody know how to actually install Java? Every guide and every forum shows different ways of doing it. BTW: It is a VPS (virtual private server) Thanks

This can be done using any software, sendmail/postfix etc. They have given me the key they want to use, and want all forms (using php) to be encrpyted. Can I set sendmail/etc to encrypt all emails?
