  • PHP echo query result in Class??

    - by Jerry
Hi all I have a question about PHP Class. I am trying to get the result from Mysql via PHP. I would like to know if the best practice is to display the result inside the Class or store the result and handle it in html. For example, display result inside the Class class Schedule { public $currentWeek; function teamQuery($currentWeek){ $this->currentWeek=$currentWeek; } function getSchedule(){ $connection = mysql_connect(DB_SERVER,DB_USER,DB_PASS); if (!$connection) { die("Database connection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $db_select = mysql_select_db(DB_NAME,$connection); if (!$db_select) { die("Database selection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $scheduleQuery=mysql_query("SELECT guest, home, time, winner, pickEnable FROM $this->currentWeek ORDER BY time", $connection); if (!$scheduleQuery){ die("database has errors: ".mysql_error()); } while($row=mysql_fetch_array($scheduleQuery, MYSQL_NUMS)){ //display the result..ex: echo $row['winner']; } mysql_close($scheduleQuery); //no returns } } Or return the query result as a variable and handle in php class Schedule { public $currentWeek; function teamQuery($currentWeek){ $this->currentWeek=$currentWeek; } function getSchedule(){ $connection = mysql_connect(DB_SERVER,DB_USER,DB_PASS); if (!$connection) { die("Database connection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $db_select = mysql_select_db(DB_NAME,$connection); if (!$db_select) { die("Database selection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $scheduleQuery=mysql_query("SELECT guest, home, time, winner, pickEnable FROM $this->currentWeek ORDER BY time", $connection); if (!$scheduleQuery){ die("database has errors: ".mysql_error()); // create an array } $ret = array(); while($row=mysql_fetch_array($scheduleQuery, MYSQL_NUMS)){ $ret[]=$row; } mysql_close($scheduleQuery); return $ret; // and handle the return value in php } } Two things here: I found that returned variable in php is a little bit complex to play with since it is two dimension array. I am not sure what the best practice is and would like to ask you experts opinions. Every time I create a new method, I have to recreate the $connection variable: see below $connection = mysql_connect(DB_SERVER,DB_USER,DB_PASS); if (!$connection) { die("Database connection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $db_select = mysql_select_db(DB_NAME,$connection); if (!$db_select) { die("Database selection failed: " . mysql_error()); } It seems like redundant to me. Can I only do it once instead of calling it anytime I need a query? I am new to php class. hope you guys can help me. thanks.

  • One Controller is Sometimes Bound Twice with Ninject

    - by Dusda
I have the following NinjectModule, where we bind our repositories and business objects: /// <summary> /// Used by Ninject to bind interface contracts to concrete types. /// </summary> public class ServiceModule : NinjectModule { /// <summary> /// Loads this instance. /// </summary> public override void Load() { //bindings here. //Bind<IMyInterface>().To<MyImplementation>(); Bind<IUserRepository>().To<SqlUserRepository>(); Bind<IHomeRepository>().To<SqlHomeRepository>(); Bind<IPhotoRepository>().To<SqlPhotoRepository>(); //and so on //business objects Bind<IUser>().To<Data.User>(); Bind<IHome>().To<Data.Home>(); Bind<IPhoto>().To<Data.Photo>(); //and so on } } And here are the relevant overrides from our Global.asax, where we inherit from NinjectHttpApplication in order to integrate it with Asp.Net Mvc (The module lies in a separate dll called Thing.Web.Configuration): protected override void OnApplicationStarted() { base.OnApplicationStarted(); //routes and areas AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); //Initializes a singleton that must reference this HttpApplication class, //in order to provide the Ninject Kernel to the rest of Thing.Web. This //is necessary because there are a few instances (currently Membership) //that require manual dependency injection. NinjectKernel.Instance = new NinjectKernel(this); //view model factory. NinjectKernel.Instance.Kernel.Bind<IModelFactory>().To<MasterModelFactory>(); } protected override NinjectControllerFactory CreateControllerFactory() { return base.CreateControllerFactory(); } protected override Ninject.IKernel CreateKernel() { var kernel = new StandardKernel(); kernel.Load("Thing.Web.Configuration.dll"); return kernel; } Now, everything works great, with one exception: For some reason, sometimes Ninject will bind the PhotoController twice. This leads to an ActivationException, because Ninject can't discern which PhotoController I want. This causes all requests for thumbnails and other user images on the site to fail. Here is the PhotoController in it's entirety: public class PhotoController : Controller { public PhotoController() { } public ActionResult Index(string id) { var dir = Server.MapPath("~/" + ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["UserPhotos"]); var path = Path.Combine(dir, id); return base.File(path, "image/jpeg"); } } Every controller works in exactly the same way, but for some reason the PhotoController gets double-bound. Even then, it only happens occasionally (either when re-building the solution, or on staging/production when the app pool kicks in). Once this happens, it continues to happen until I redeploy without changing anything. So...what's up with that?

  • Why does DestroyWindow close my application?

    - by user146780
I'v created a window after creating my main one but calling DestroyWindow on its handle closes the entire application, how can I simply get rid of it? it looks like this: BOOL InitInstance(HINSTANCE hInstance, int nCmdShow) { HWND hWnd; HWND fakehandle; hInst = hInstance; // Store instance handle in our global variable hWnd = CreateWindow(szWindowClass, szTitle, WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW | WS_EX_LAYERED, CW_USEDEFAULT, 0, CW_USEDEFAULT, 0, NULL, NULL, hInstance, NULL); fakehandle = CreateWindow(szWindowClass, "FAKE WINDOW", WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW, CW_USEDEFAULT, 0, CW_USEDEFAULT, 0, NULL, NULL, hInstance, NULL); if (!hWnd || !fakehandle) { return FALSE; } //some code DestroyWindow(fakehandle); ShowWindow(hWnd, nCmdShow); UpdateWindow(hWnd); return TRUE; } how can I destroy this window without destroying my main one? I'm creating a dummy window to check for multisampling in OpenGL. Thanks

  • Reducing a normalized table to one value

    - by Dio
Hello, I'm sure this has been asked but I'm not quite sure how to properly search for this question, my apologies. I have two tables, Foo and Bar. For has one row per Food, bar has many rows per food matching descriptors. Foo name id Apple 1 Orange 2 Bar id description 1 Tasty 1 Ripe 2 Sweet etc (sorry for the somewhat contrived example). I'm trying to return a query where if, for each row in Foo, Bar contains a descriptor in ('Tasty', 'Juicy') return true ex: Output Apple True Orange False I had been solving this somewhat trivially with a case when I only had one item to match select Foo.name, case bar.description when 'Tasty' then True else 'False' end from Foo left join Bar on foo.id = bar.id where bar.description = 'Tasty' But with multiple items, I keep ending up with extra rows: Output Apple True Apple False etc etc Can someone point me in the right direction on how to think about this problem or what I should be doing? Thank you.

  • JQuery: animate() doesn't work as expected in IE...

    - by swalkner
Hi, I'm getting crazy with this IE 7... == hhttp://neu.emergent-innovation.com/ Why does following function not work in IE 7, but perfectly with Firefox? Is there a bug in the animate-function? function accordion_starting_page(){ // hide all elements except the first one $('#FCE-Inhalt02-ContentWrapper .FCE-Fade:not(:first)').css("height", "0").hide(); $('#FCE-Inhalt02-ContentWrapper .FCE-Fade:first').addClass("isVisible"); $('div.FCE-Title').click(function(){ // if user clicks on an already opened element => do nothing if (parseFloat($(this).next('.FCE-Fade').css("height")) > 0) { return false; } var toHide = $(this).siblings('.FCE-Fade.isVisible'); toHide.removeClass("isVisible"); // close all opened siblings toHide.animate({"height": "0", "display": "none"}, 1000); $(this).next('.FCE-Fade').addClass("isVisible").animate({"height" : "200"}, 1000); return false; }); } Thank you very much for your help...

  • Code crashing compiler: main() returning a struct instead of an int

    - by AndrejaKo
Hi! I'm experimenting with a piece of C code. Can anyone tell me why is VC 9.0 with SP1 crashing for me? Oh, and the code is meant to be an example used in a discussion why something like void main (void) is evil. struct foo { int i; double d; } main (double argc, struct foo argv) { struct foo a; a.d=0; a.i=0; return a.i; } If I put return a; compiler doesn't crash.

  • Get data from aspx.cs page to aspx page.

    - by Brad8118
So I am using a jquery plug in that allows me to change the order of things in a list by dragging and dropping them. So my goal is to be able to grab a list of my objects (AlertInfo) and using it in a javascript function. I was able to use a json webservice call in a test project to pass the data to the page. But we don't have a webservice page now so I tried to grab it from a aspx.cs page and it hasn't worked. ///Aspx page: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "~/Alerts/GetAlerts", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { var data = eval("(" + msg.d + ")"); jQuery.each(data, function (rec) { AlertList[AlertList.length] = new objAlert(this.id, this.title, this.details, JSONDateSerializationFix(this.startdate), JSONDateSerializationFix(this.enddate)); UpdateDisplayList(); }) }, error: function (msg) { alert("BRAD" + msg); } The issue is that the Alerts page in "URL /Alerts/GetAlerts" is Alerts.aspx.cs. I can't figure out if I can use this ajax command to call a method in a aspx.cs page. //Code behind page aspx.cs [WebMethod] //[ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public string GetAlerts() { List list = AlertInfo.GetTestAlerts(); return new JavaScriptSerializer().Serialize(list); } public List GetAlertsList() { List list = AlertInfo.GetTestAlerts(); return list; ; } So I was hoping that I could load data into an asp control (dataList) and then grab the data //code behind page protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { dataListAlertList.DataSource = GetAlertsList(); dataListAlertList.DataBind(); } public static List<AlertInfo> GetTestAlerts() { List<AlertInfo> list = new List<AlertInfo>(); list.Add(new AlertInfo("0", "Alert 1 Title", "Alert 1 Detail", "10/10/2010", "10/10/2011")); list.Add(new AlertInfo("1", "Alert 2 Title", "Alert 2 Detail", "10/10/2010", "10/10/2011")); return list; } //.aspx page $(document).ready(function () { var a1 = $("#dataListAlertList").val(); // do fun stuff now. } But I keep getting undefined....

  • Getting the date object to work in IE6 (w/ YYYY-MM-DD param)?

    - by J. LaRosee
I just got IE6 sprung on me for a project that is going out into the wild soon, which means it's time to go back and comb through all of the CSS and JS. I've gotten hung up on the date object, however: $.validator.addMethod("dateRange", function() { var today = new Date(); var event_date_raw = $('#event_date').val(); var event_date_parts = event_date_raw.split("-"); var event_date = new Date( event_date_parts[2]+","+event_date_parts[1]+","+event_date_parts[0] ); if( event_date.getTime() >= today.getTime() ) return true; return false; }, "Please specify a correct date:"); event_date.getTime() is returning "NaN" in IE6 so the validation fails. The event_raw_date is in the YYYY-MM-DD format, which date doesn't seem to mind in every other browser... Thoughts?

  • C++ method chaining including class constructor

    - by jena
Hello, I'm trying to implement method chaining in C++, which turns out to be quite easy if the constructor call of a class is a separate statement, e.g: Foo foo; foo.bar().baz(); But as soon as the constructor call becomes part of the method chain, the compiler complains about expecting ";" in place of "." immediately after the constructor call: Foo foo().bar().baz(); I'm wondering now if this is actually possible in C++. Here is my test class: class Foo { public: Foo() { } Foo& bar() { return *this; } Foo& baz() { return *this; } }; I also found an example for "fluent interfaces" in C++ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluent_interface#C.2B.2B) which seems to be exactly what I'm searching for. However, I get the same compiler error for that code. Thanks in advance for any hint. Best, Jean

  • how to simplify this database update query (php)

    - by krike
How could I simplify this update instruction? Whenever a client buys an item it will update the sales with 1. $this->db->query('SELECT amount FROM shop_items WHERE itemid='.$itemid.''); $new_amount = $item->amount+1; if(!$this->db->query('UPDATE shop_items SET amount='.$new_amount.' WHERE itemid='.$itemid.'')): return false; endif; Can't I make it more simple so there are less lines, for example: if(!$this->db->query('UPDATE shop_items SET amount=_current_value_+1 WHERE itemid='.$itemid.'')): return false; endif; is this possible? if not thanks anyway

  • Run Oracle Procedure just to lock row, without returning a resultset

    - by Pascal
I want to run a procedure to force a row lock on a row, but I don't want to return a result set to the client, nor do I actually want to update anything. Below is the proc: CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SP_LOCK_Row (IDRow IN INTEGER) IS BEGIN SELECT * FROM TBLTable WHERE IDRow = IDRow FOR UPDATE; END; The problem is that I keep getting the error: PLS-00428: an INTO clause is expected in this SELECT statement. Is there a way for me to lock the row without actually having to return a result set back to the client? The SQL Server equivalent is: CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.SP_LOCK_Row( @IDRow INT) AS SELECT * FROM dbo.TBLTable WITH (UPDLOCK, ROWLOCK) WHERE IDRow = @IDRow Tks

  • PHP: Prevent chained method from returning?

    - by Industrial
Hi, I am having some headaches regarding method chaining for a quite simple PHP class that returns a value, which sometimes need to go through a decryption process: $dataset = new Datacontainer; $key = $dataset->get('key'); $key2 = $dataset->get('key')->decrypt(); The get method is where the return lives. So the call to the decrypt method on the second row isn't going to work in its current state. Can I do something to setup the get method to return only when nothing is chained to it, or what would be the best way to re-factor this code?

  • how do i know how many clients are calling my WCF service function

    - by ZhengZhiren
i am writing a program to test WCF service performance in high concurrency circumstance. On client side, i start many threads to call a WCF service function which returns a long list of data object. On server side, in that function called by my client, i need to know the number of clients calling the function. For doing that, i set a counter variable. In the beginning of the function, i add the counter by 1, but how can i decrease it after the funtion has returned the result? int clientCount=0; public DataObject[] GetData() { Interlocked.Increment(ref clientCount); List<DataObject> result = MockDb.GetData(); return result.ToArray(); Interlocked.Decrement(ref clientCount); //can't run to here... } i have seen a way in c++. Create a new class named counter. In the constructor of the counter class, increase the variable. And decrease it in the destructor. In the function, make a counter object so that its constructor will be called. And after the function returns, its destructor will be called. Like this: class counter { public: counter(){++clientCount; /* not simply like this, need to be atomic*/} ~counter(){--clientCount; /* not simply like this, need to be atomic*/} }; ... myfunction() { counter c; //do something return something; } In c# i think i can do so with the following codes, but not for sure. public class Service1 : IService1 { static int clientCount = 0; private class ClientCounter : IDisposable { public ClientCounter() { Interlocked.Increment(ref clientCount); } public void Dispose() { Interlocked.Decrement(ref clientCount); } } public DataObject[] GetData() { using (ClientCounter counter = new ClientCounter()) { List<DataObject> result = MockDb.GetData(); return result.ToArray(); } } } i write a counter class implement the IDisposable interface. And put my function codes into a using block. But it seems that it doesn't work so good. No matter how many threads i start, the clientCount variable is up to 3. Any advise would be appreciated.

  • Implementing Object Oriented: ansi-C approach

    - by No Money
Hey there, I am an Intermediate programmer in Java and know some of the basics in C++. I recently started to scam over "C language" [please note that i emphasized on C language and want to stick with C as i found it to be a perfect tool, so no need for suggestions focusing on why should i move back to C++ or Java or any other crappy language (e.g: C#)]. Moving on, I code an Object Oriented approach in C but kindda scramble with the pointers part. Please understand that I am just a noob trying to extend my knowledge beyond what i learned in High School. Here is my code..... #include <stdio.h> typedef struct per{ int privateint; char *privateString; struct per (*New) (); void (*deleteperOBJ) (struct t_person *); void (*setperNumber) ((struct*) t_person,int); void (*setperString) ((struct*) t_person,char *); void (*dumpperState) ((struct*) t_person); }t_person; void setperNumber(t_person *const per,int num){ if(per==NULL) return; per->privateint=num; } void setperString(t_person *const per, char *string){ if(per==NULL) return; per->privateString=string; } void dumpperState(t_person *const per){ if(per==NULL) return; printf("value of private int==%d\n", per->privateint); printf("value of private string==%s\n", per->privateString); } void deleteperOBJ(struct t_person *const per){ free((void*)t_person->per); t_person ->per = NULL; } main(){ t_person *const per = (struct*) malloc(sizeof(t_person)); per = t_person -> struct per -> New(); per -> setperNumber (t_person *per, 123); per -> setperString(t_person *per, "No money"); dumpperState(t_person *per); deleteperOBJ(t_person *per); } Just to warn you, this program has several errors and since I am a beginner I couldn't help except to post this thread as a question. I am looking forward for assistance. Thanks in advance.

  • Custom Parser for JQuery Tablesorter

    - by Tim
I'm using the jQuery Tablesorter and have an issue with the order in which parsers are applied against table columns. I'm adding a custom parser to handle currency of the form $-3.33. $.tablesorter.addParser({ id: "fancyCurrency", is: function(s) { return /^\$[\-]?[0-9,\.]*$/.test(s); }, format: function(s) { s = s.replace(/[$,]/g,''); return $.tablesorter.formatFloat( s ); }, type: "numeric" }); The problem seems to be that the built-in currency parser takes precedence over my custom parser. I could put the parser in the tablesorter code itself (before the currency parser) and it works properly, but this isn't very maintainable. I can't specify the sorter manually using something like: headers: { 3: { sorter: "fancyNumber" }, 11: { sorter: "fancyCurrency" } } since the table columns are generated dynamically from user inputs. I guess one option would be to specify the sorter to use as a css class and use some JQuery to explicitly specify a sorter like this question suggests, but I'd prefer to stick with dynamic detection if possible.

  • Can't inherit from auto_ptr without problems

  • packing fields of a class into a byte array in c#

    - by alex
Hi all: I am trying to create a fast way to convert c# classes into byte array. I thought of serializing the class directly to a byte array using an example I found: // Convert an object to a byte array private byte[] ObjectToByteArray(Object obj) { if(obj == null) return null; BinaryFormatter bf = new BinaryFormatter(); MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); bf.Serialize(ms, obj); return ms.ToArray(); } But the byte array I got contains some other information that are not related to the fields in the class. I guess it is also converting the Properties of the class. Is there a way to serialize only the fields of the class to a byte array? Thanks

  • disable dates using jquery inside gridview control

    - by bladerunner
    Hi there, I have a gridview which contains a textbox control. I need to show the calendar for the user to pick the date and certain dates are to be disabled using jquery. I found a post on stackoverflow that talked about how to disable certain dates. I am done with that part, except not sure how to pass the textbox control to this jquery function. Here is the code. <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function pageLoad(sender, args) { var enabledDays = ['09/21/2011', '10/05/2011', '10/19/2011', '11/02/2011', '11/16/2011']; /* utility functions */ function editDays(date) { for (var i = 0; i < enabledDays.length; i++) { if (new Date(enabledDays[i]).toString() == date.toString()) { return [true]; } } return [false]; } /* create datepicker */ $(document).ready(function() { $('#<%= txtInHomeDate.ClientID %>').datepicker({ beforeShow: springDate, beforeShowDay: editDays, dateFormat: 'mm/dd/yy', buttonImage: 'images/cal.gif', buttonText: 'Choose date', firstDay: 1, buttonImageOnly: true, showOn: 'both', showAnim: 'fadeIn', onSelect: function() { $(this).trigger("onchange", null); } }); function springDate() { var defaultMin = new Date(); var defaultMax = new Date(); var Min = defaultMin; var Max = defaultMax; // make valid date from hiddenfied value format is MM/dd/yyyy dateMin = $('#<%= hfStDate.ClientID %>').val(); dateMin = new Date(dateMin); dateMax = $('#<%= hfEndDate.ClientID %>').val(); dateMax = new Date(dateMax); if (dateMin && dateMax) { Min = new Date(dateMin.getFullYear(), dateMin.getMonth(), dateMin.getDate()); Max = new Date(dateMax.getFullYear(), dateMax.getMonth(), dateMax.getDate()); } return { minDate: Min, maxDate: Max }; } }); } <.... <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="In-Home Date"> <ItemStyle HorizontalAlign="Center" /> <ItemTemplate> <asp:HiddenField ID="hfStDate" runat="server" Value="09/01/2011" /> <asp:HiddenField ID="hfEndDate" runat="server" Value="11/30/2011" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtInHomeDate" runat="server" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> Currently, it errors out since the jquery function won't find the txtInHomeDate. Could I get some help as I am pretty close to get this done? Thanks!!

  • Generic class for performing mass-parallel queries. Feedback?

    - by Aaron
    I don't understand why, but there appears to be no mechanism in the client library for performing many queries in parallel for Windows Azure Table Storage. I've created a template class that can be used to save considerable time, and you're welcome to use it however you wish. I would appreciate however, if you could pick it apart, and provide feedback on how to improve this class. public class AsyncDataQuery<T> where T: new() { public AsyncDataQuery(bool preserve_order) { m_preserve_order = preserve_order; this.Queries = new List<CloudTableQuery<T>>(1000); } public void AddQuery(IQueryable<T> query) { var data_query = (DataServiceQuery<T>)query; var uri = data_query.RequestUri; // required this.Queries.Add(new CloudTableQuery<T>(data_query)); } /// <summary> /// Blocking but still optimized. /// </summary> public List<T> Execute() { this.BeginAsync(); return this.EndAsync(); } public void BeginAsync() { if (m_preserve_order == true) { this.Items = new List<T>(Queries.Count); for (var i = 0; i < Queries.Count; i++) { this.Items.Add(new T()); } } else { this.Items = new List<T>(Queries.Count * 2); } m_wait = new ManualResetEvent(false); for (var i = 0; i < Queries.Count; i++) { var query = Queries[i]; query.BeginExecuteSegmented(callback, i); } } public List<T> EndAsync() { m_wait.WaitOne(); return this.Items; } private List<T> Items { get; set; } private List<CloudTableQuery<T>> Queries { get; set; } private bool m_preserve_order; private ManualResetEvent m_wait; private int m_completed = 0; private void callback(IAsyncResult ar) { int i = (int)ar.AsyncState; CloudTableQuery<T> query = Queries[i]; var response = query.EndExecuteSegmented(ar); if (m_preserve_order == true) { // preserve ordering only supports one result per query this.Items[i] = response.Results.First(); } else { // add any number of items this.Items.AddRange(response.Results); } if (response.HasMoreResults == true) { // more data to pull query.BeginExecuteSegmented(response.ContinuationToken, callback, i); return; } m_completed = Interlocked.Increment(ref m_completed); if (m_completed == Queries.Count) { m_wait.Set(); } } }

  • AFNetworking PostPath php Parameters are null

    - by Alejandro Escobar
I am trying to send a username and password from an iOS app using AFNetworking framework to a php script. The iOS app continues to receive status code 401 which I defined to be "not enough parameters". I have tried returning the "username" from the php script to the iOS app and receive . Based on what I've been investigating so far, it seems as though: 1) The php script is not decoding the POST parameters properly 2) The iOS app is not sending the POST parameters properly The following is the iOS function - (IBAction)startLoginProcess:(id)sender { NSString *usernameField = usernameTextField.text; NSString *passwordField = passwordTextField.text; NSDictionary *parameters = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:usernameField, @"username", passwordField, @"password", nil]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://localhost/~alejandroe1790/edella_admin/"]; AFHTTPClient *httpClient = [[AFHTTPClient alloc] initWithBaseURL:url]; [httpClient defaultValueForHeader:@"Accept"]; [httpClient setParameterEncoding:AFJSONParameterEncoding]; [httpClient postPath:@"login.php" parameters:parameters success:^(AFHTTPRequestOperation *operation, id response) { NSLog(@"operation hasAcceptableStatusCode: %d", [operation.response statusCode]); } failure:^(AFHTTPRequestOperation *operation, NSError *error) { NSLog(@"Error with request"); NSLog(@"%@",[error localizedDescription]); }]; } The following is the php script function checkLogin() { // Check for required parameters if (isset($_POST["username"]) && isset($_POST["password"])) { //Put parameters into local variables $username = $_POST["username"]; $password = $_POST["password"]; $stmt = $this->db->prepare("SELECT Password FROM Admin WHERE Username=?"); $stmt->bind_param('s', $username); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->bind_result($resultpassword); while ($stmt->fetch()) { break; } $stmt->close(); // Username or password invalid if ($password == $resultpassword) { sendResponse(100, 'Login successful'); return true; } else { sendResponse(400, 'Invalid Username or Password'); return false; } } sendResponse(401, 'Not enough parameters'); return false; } I feel like I may be missing something. • Why is my implementation of strcmp not returning the proper value?

    - by Avanish Giri
    Why is this printing out 0 back in main but 6 when it is inside of the strcmp function? 7 int main() 8 { 9 char* str = "test string"; 10 char* str2 = "test strong"; 11 //printf("string length = %d\n",strlen(str)); 12 13 int num = strcmp(str,str2); 14 15 printf("num = %d\n",num); 16 } 29 int strcmp(char* str, char* str2) 30 { 31 if(*str == '\0' && *str2 == '\0') 32 return 0; 33 if(*str2 - *str == 0) 34 { 35 strcmp(str+1,str2+1); 36 } 37 else 38 { 39 int num = *str2 - *str; 40 cout << "num = " <<num<<endl; 41 return num; 42 } 43 } The output is: num = 6 num = 0 Why is it printing 0 when obviously the value that it should be returning is 6?

  • Hibernate: getting a record but it's being updated in the database?

    - by jack
For some reason Hibernate seems to be keeping my session open and updating the object without me explicitely invoking a save/update/saveorupdate. I guess the session is staying open and it's beeing marked as dirty. However this is not the desired behaviour, so what's the cleanest way to fix this? The issue seems to occur because I store a phone number without formatting in the database but the getter of the object returns a formatted telephone number. My flow: go to a jsp = controller = service = dao DAO getter function if(userId != 0) { return (User)dbFactory.get(User.class, userId); } return null; The service just passes it to the controller and the controller puts te User object in the request scope. I display it on my JSP page using EL.
