  • User sessions with jquery and Ajax

    I am using jquery to set a session, i have a php page which gets the values of the person logging. The value in the session array, is then used in another page where, it is stored in a hidden field for database entry.The problem is, the value is not set unless you refresh the page of which beats the purpose of AJAX and Jquery.Again,the session seems to be one session behind.How can I do this without page refresh/ reload?

    Hi, I am using MVC 2 with Area. To test routing, I am using MvcContrib. This is the testing code: [Test] public void Home() { MvcApplication.RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); "~/".ShouldMapTo(x = x.Login("Nps")); } I am not sure how to call routing definition that are stored in Areas.   • Configure TCP/IP to use DHCP and a Static IP Address at the Same Time

    My computer is configured to obtain a IP address automatically using DHCP. It only has one network adapter. How to configure an additional static IP address? I found a tutorial for Windows XP, but the procedure didn't work for Windows 7. Is it possible to configure two IP addresses on Windows 7, one being static e another being dynamic? How? The dynamic address I got now is 10.17.11.162. The static IP is 10.17.30.19. The network mask is the same: 255.255.224.0. Both work independently, but I don't know how to use both at the same time.

  • [Java] Send cookie with http request problem

    I'm trying to get a certain cookie in a java client by creating a series of Http requests. It looks like I'm getting a valid cookie from the server but when I'm sending out a request to the fnal url with the seemingly valid cookie I should get some lines of xml in the response but the response is blank because the cookie isw rong or is invalidated because a session has closed or an other problem which I can't figure out. The cookie handed out by the server expires at the end of the session. It seems to me the cookie is valid because when I do the same calls in firefox, a similar cookie with the same name and starting with the 3 first same letters and of the same length is stored in firefox, also expiring at the end of the session. If I then make a request to the final url with only this particular cookie stored in firefox (removed all other cookies), the xml is nicely rendered on the page. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong in this piece of code?     i'm trying to figure out where Windows Error Reports are saved; i hit Send on some earlier today, but i forgot that i want to "view the details" so i can examine the memory minidumps. But i cannot find where they are stored (and google doesn't know). I also create a lot of web services which are consumed via AJAX applications. Do these technologies really help you in speeding up development times? Do you still have to build the database or object code first?

  • iPhone: Tracking/Identifying individual touches

    I have a quick question regarding tracking touches on the iPhone and I seem to not be able to come to a conclusion on this, so any suggestions / ideas are greatly appreciated: I want to be able to track and identify touches on the iphone, ie. basically every touch has a starting position and a current/moved position. Touches are stored in a std::vector and they shall be removed from the container, once they ended. Their position shall be updated once they move, but I still want to keep track of where they initially started (gesture recognition).     EDIT 1. The results of a query from my database are displayed on my view page. My question is, if the user clicked on button 4, how do I get that particular choice displayed onto another view? If a user clicks on a link, I want the user to be taken to another view page (via a controller) that gives more information concerning that particular link (which is stored in that particular position in the array) My question is, how do I access and display the contents of that particular location within the array on the second view file without getting a "Undefined variable error" on the second view?   • Graciously shutdown external HDD enclosure?

    I recently purchased a large HDD along with the following HDD enclosure: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817173043 It has a simple on-off switch on the back. When I want to turn this thing off, do I simply just flip the switch? I assume the switch simply kills the power to the HDD, but isn't that potentially a bad thing in the case that the HDD is still reading/writing? I used to have a Seagate external HDD and it had a button on the front that I had to hold down for a second or two before it would turn off, but it at least appeared to sort of go through a shutdown procedure where it probably would stop the HDD activity before cutting power. So with this external HDD, I'm a little bit leery about that power switch and understanding exactly what it does. Is this how all HDD enclosures are? EDIT: I'm running the drive in Ubuntu Server. So there is no 'ejecting' the drive lol

  • Merge Visio files

    I know I can do this manually by using copy/paste but I'm looking for a simpler way. Does anyone know of a quick and easy way to merge Visio documents? I have several Visio vsd files, all of which are the same internal document type (Flowchart - US Units). Each of these has between 1 and 15 pages. I'd like to combine them all into one Visio file. I'm using Visio for Enterprise Architects (11.4301.8221) so if there's a procedure for doing it in that version, that's what I'm looking for, but a 3rd party tool or a macro would work as well.
