• How do I read old star office 5.x spreadcheet documents today? (*.sdc)

  Hi I found a couple of old spreadsheet documents that I created a couple of years ago that I would like to read again. I think I used the old Star Office 5.2 to create those Spreadsheets. They all have names like *.sdc I have tried to use Open Office to open them, but he can't recognise what it is. Does anybody have any idea how I can open those documents? Thanks Johan

• I have an SSH proxy working, now I need to select a different outgoing IP for my client

  Hi, I have a SSH tunnel set up to my dedicated server via Putty which I am using as a socks proxy. The problem is I need to use a different outgoing IP address than the main IP of the dedicated server. I have a block of 30 ips for this server but even if I set up a web based proxy (php) it will use the main server ip. Does anyone know a solution? Thanks!

• Google Chrome shows garbage text instead of web page

  On some websites, I receive garbage text instead of web page itself. I have noticed that this only happens for pages that are served with Content-Encoding set to GZIP or chunked headers, see the image please: I am using latest version 22.0.1229.94 of Chrome with Windows 7 Ultimaate. The encoding of browser is set to UTF-8. (I also tried changing encoding to Western, etc but same result) Can anyone suggest a solution to this? Thanks

  Hi all, Just today during a freak accident, a book got tossed onto my Samsung N120 netbook while it was open and the 'G' and 'T' key flew off. Part of the plastic underneath broke off.   HI all, I am currently using nginx as front-end proxy for Apache. I have setup nginx to use port 80 and Apache to use 8080. But after nginx redirected the request to Apache, the port 8080 is visible from the browser. Is there any way this port can be hidden and not visible because it would be very ugly for users that wants to bookmark it. THanks in advance for your help.

  Hi all, a client has a wordpress installation on their IIS server located at www.mydomain.com. We would like to put our asp.net application in a subdirectory of the wordpress installation - at something like mydomain.com/asp. When I navigate to that directory I get a standard wordpress "Page not found" error. I am more familiar with htaccess, so how would I get wordpress to ignore a subdirectory in IIS? Thanks!

I got everything back in place except a right problems. if i us "mkdir" with php i get : permission denied. whoami return : "www-data" File owner are like before (for example web54:client4), same for directory Ftp user work fine, create new file and edit file with the same right (web54:client4) I don't understand why it does'nt work in php and I don't have any idea where to look now ?   I am installing postfix and I am confused what to put for the system mail name. It has an exmaple that sais use "example.org" if a mail address on the system is "[email protected]" but it also sais that the mail name should be the FQDN. my hostname is "mercury" and my FQDN is "mercury.pacificseatheat.org", so should I use "pacificseatheat.org" or "mercury.pacificseatheat.org" for the system mail name? • How do I make Mail.app quit after iCal sends an alert?

  iCal uses a built in script file to email reminders through Mail.app. It works great, but I don't use Mail.app for my main email account, just for sending calendar notifications. So, Mail.app opens and sends the alert, but then it stays open. I've tried to edit the applescript file to make it quit Mail, but that doesn't seem to work. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks :-)

  When a new Windows server machine joins a domain, AD seems to create a machine account "DOMAIN\MACHINENAME$" for that machine with a SID. If the machine gets reimaged (with another OS, here: W2K8 instead of W2K3) and then rejoins the domin, will AD re-use the existing domain account with the same SID? (Reason I'm asking is that we use some machine accounts as logins in SQL2008 databases..) Thanks Max
