  • Setting up a SQL server outside the domain

    Hi, im very new to this. I've set up an account "SQLBOX" thats on the a network, but not connected to the domain. I have installed an instance of SQL Server 2008 and am trying to connect to it from another machine on the network but am getting "Cannot connect to "SQLBOX"". From the "SQLBOX" i can connect to sqlservers on the domain, but not vice-versa. Any help would be grately appreciated. Sorry if the description isn't great. Thanks

    Hi All, i am getting the following error while upgrading the server from ESX3.5i to ESX3.5.. and the server gets Stuck. it says : Starting System Management Homepage:.......ok Starting HP Insight Manager Agents: ipmi_si : servching for PCI device 0x3302 ipmi_si : Trying "Kcs" at memory address 0xf7ef.... ipmi_si : Found PCI BMC at BAR address 0xf7ef.... In try_get_dev_id And the server gets stuck, had anyone seen this and how to resolve this? Thanks, Amit

    Hey everyone, first question around here. I have a centos 5.2 server and running df -h i get this: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 672G -551M 638G 0% / /dev/hda1 99M 12M 82M 13% /boot tmpfs 2.0G 0 2.0G 0% /dev/shm that space wasn't even near 10% usage the last time it showed a correct value, i'm at a loss with whats going on.   • Can see partial encrypted in XP but not in windows 7

    I used truecrypted V.6.3a to partially encrypted (5gb) on my 16gb usb flashdrive on my XP netbook and eveything was fine. However, I don't see the ecrypted partial (5gb) when stick the usb into windows 7-32 bits (desktop). Tried to re-encrypted the usb on windows 7 (desktop) but results are the same. No problem seeing it on XP but windows 7. Thanks

So I downloaded the software from a different machine and tried copying it to my desktop. But during Copy, the software 'skype' got deleted from my pen drive itself. How is this done.? I have changed the listener port in the domain.xml file, but the web application is still trying to connect to the WSDL on port 8080. How can I change the configuration of the web service port?     I have a NFS mounted directory, and I'd like to monitor the I/O usage on it (MB/s reads and writes). What's the recommended way to do that ? This is the NFS client, I don't have access to the NFS server. I'm not interested in general I/O usage (otherwise I would use vmstat/iostat). It also has multiple NFS mounts, I'm interested in monitoring just one specific mount (or I might have used ethereal). Thanks!

    Hi! I'm wonder if is possible to authenticate the same user with different public-private keys pairs on the same remote host. For all production servers, the public-private key pair has been generated for the same user and then exported to the backup server for allowing ssh authentication without human intervention.   • Upstart script not working on Ubuntu

    I'm trying to write an upstart script to start orbited on startup. The script is as follows: #orbited start on startup stop on shutdown script exec /usr/local/bin/orbited --config=/etc/orbited.cfg end script When I run upstart orbited I get something like this: orbited start/running, process 605 But when I run status orbited right after doing that I get: orbited stop/waiting The script fails to start even though it says it's running. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hello, CentOS 5.3 After booting up. I am wondering what is the name of the log file that contains if all services where successfully loaded or not? For example when computer boots you get a list of start services and they can be OK or FAILED. Is there a log file where this information is kept? I had a look in the following directory /var/log/ but not sure which one will contain the informaiton that I need. Many thanks for any advice,

    In /etc/apache2/httpd.conf, I have remove the line of Include mod_status and add the following to the last line, LoadModule status_module /usr/lib/apache2/mod_status.so ExtendedStatus On <Location /server-status> SetHandler server-status AllowOverride None Order Deny,Allow Deny from all Allow from all </Location> Then I restart Apache, and go to http://HOSTNAME/server-status, but I get the page not found, Did someone know why I get page not found? Is there any more step needed to do to see the Apache status? Thanks

Not sure what went wrong, I do have "C:/data/apache/modules/mod_wsgi.so" Thanks for any help.
