  • Server getting stuck while upgrading from ESX 3.5i to ESX3.5

    Hi All, i am getting the following error while upgrading the server from ESX3.5i to ESX3.5.. and the server gets Stuck. it says : Starting System Management Homepage:.......ok Starting HP Insight Manager Agents: ipmi_si : servching for PCI device 0x3302 ipmi_si : Trying "Kcs" at memory address 0xf7ef.... ipmi_si : Found PCI BMC at BAR address 0xf7ef.... In try_get_dev_id And the server gets stuck, had anyone seen this and how to resolve this? Thanks, Amit

    Hi, all I'm looking for a software which can keep track of my reading progress, like BookMarker for iPhone does. It should be able to keep my everyday reading progress for each book I'm reading, and it will be better if other functions like calculating total reading pace are supported.   • New laptop, windows 7, Outlook 2007 installed

    A friend of mine has purchased a new laptop (Toshiba) with Windows 7 installed and has also purchased Outlook 2007 and atttmped to install it - the install worked ok, but I think he may have selected Exchange server when installing the first time - now it will not start, displaying message like "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable " Outlook 2007 should have been configued for Pop3 as he has a hotmail account, but Outlook will not load "offline" and despite me de-installing, re-installing, running repair, I cannot get it to load to a point where I can add a new email account. If any one has any ideas on this, I would apprecaite the help Thanks, Bob

    I just bought a dedicated server on online.net I have a public and a private ip. I installed esxi from their panel and I can connect successfully with my vsphere client. The problem is this: I want to create some instances and I want to give them different private ips. I also want to create some NAT rules to forward all users coming to my public ip port 80 to a specific instance. How can I do that? Thanks

My structure now is like: - Site 1 --- app --- tmp --- log --- public - Site 2 --- app --- tmp --- log --- public - ... 100+ dirs ... Now I need a unique zip and then after unzip it I want to see this structure: - Site 1 --- public - Site 2 --- public - others Any suggestion how I can do that with linux commands zip/tar ?     I have a NFS mounted directory, and I'd like to monitor the I/O usage on it (MB/s reads and writes). What's the recommended way to do that ? This is the NFS client, I don't have access to the NFS server. I'm not interested in general I/O usage (otherwise I would use vmstat/iostat). It also has multiple NFS mounts, I'm interested in monitoring just one specific mount (or I might have used ethereal). Thanks!

    Hi , I did the date command and it gave the following output root@localhost:~$ date Thu Dec 30 14:19:47 UTC 2010 Then i modified the date using date -s command whichn gave the following output root@localhost:~$ date -s "12/30/2010 JST 14:19:47" Thu Dec 30 05:19:47 UTC 2010 I noticed that the time changed to 9 hours behind UTC time to show exactly the JST time. But timezone as you can see is still showing UTC. Why is it showing the correct time and incorrect timezone? Thanks

When I check the Patch Repository, i see that the release date for the update is Dec.9,2009. Does it mean that I don't need any patches before that date?     i have been installed ubuntu server 11.10 and i doesn't specify the domain name during the installation but after i have been edit /ete/resolve.conf with my dns servers which run windows server the dns can't recognise my server name . then i installed likewise-open but that doesn't solve the problem and make some problems with ftp . can someone help me please to join this server to the dns . thanks in advance .
