  • Windows Azure Backup agent with Windows 7 pro

    I know that windows azure backup is designed to work with windows server, but I have a small client that runs a little windows 7 pro machine as a "server/file share" in their office and I want to set up a simple back-up for them. As I work with Azure in other ways with the client I would like to use azure for this solution as well. Will windows azure backup agent work with windows 7 pro? It would just be backing up some simple files/folders. Thanks

    I just bought a dedicated server on online.net I have a public and a private ip. I installed esxi from their panel and I can connect successfully with my vsphere client. The problem is this: I want to create some instances and I want to give them different private ips. I also want to create some NAT rules to forward all users coming to my public ip port 80 to a specific instance. How can I do that? Thanks

    i have been installed ubuntu server 11.10 and i doesn't specify the domain name during the installation but after i have been edit /ete/resolve.conf with my dns servers which run windows server the dns can't recognise my server name . then i installed likewise-open but that doesn't solve the problem and make some problems with ftp . can someone help me please to join this server to the dns . thanks in advance .

    I have a web server in my home network and I'm using ZoneEdit for dynamic DNS. It's accessible perfectly to everyone outside of my local network, but since I switched to a Gateway 2Wire DSL modem/router I'm unable to use the domain to access the server from my network. I can access it via a local IP or by putting it in my Windows hosts file but this is annoying to do on every computer and for every subdomain. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!

    Hi guys, Is there a quick way to give the local administrator full rights to all folders on the C drive? I am having really hard time with that, I try to give it full rights to some folders (user profiles) but I can't even modify the NTFS permissions in some cases, I get "permission denied" Is there some soft of tutorial or script that will just give the administrator full rights on all folders in the C driver?     In Windows Vista, when I try to move a folder to replace an existing folder, Vista asks me if I want to merge the folders or cancel. How do I get the old XP behavior where the old folder is just replaced. This issue is especially challenging when moving many folders at once and some of them move but then some of them hit this merge/cancel problem. Thanks!

    Hello, guys, I need to get and filter the linux users list like: username1 username1_group username2 username2_group ... usernameN usernameN_group I've tried, but only that I've found is: cat /etc/passwd | grep /home | cut -d: -f1 It gives me the list of users in /home folder.   • Transferring programs to a different Windows partition

    I have two Windows partitions installed on a HDD, as well as a third partition where I have hundreds of programs installed. I've installed all the programs with my Windows 7 RC, but now that the Release Candidate is coming to an end I have to switch over to my other Windows installation. Is there an easy way to transfer all of my programs registry entries and other references to my new Windows installation, or do I have to reinstall all of my programs on my new partition? Thanks.

    Hello, Im looking for the best way to accomplish a full backup of our "vmail" accounts on our mail server (CentOS "iRedMail" 5.1). I also need to split on 4GB parts the resulting tar or bzip compressed backup, and get this DVD-RW burned, on same server. The idea is to get this procedure to running overnight, once a week. Our mail server holds about 45GB of information. I will appreciate any advise or help on this topic. Thanks.

  • "Safely Remove Hardware" icon keeps reverting to "Only show notifications"

    I have the 'Safely Remove Hardware' tray icon set to 'Show icon and notifications' to save a mouse click when removing a USB device but every few weeks the setting reverts to 'Only show notifications'. Does anyone know what causes this and/or how I can prevent it? I'm using Windows 7 SP1 64bit with a fairly bare installation (the machine hosts a set of virtual machines that I use to do my work). Thanks!
